Once in a Lifetime

#1-norm-fan 03-18-2015 08:05 PM

It would be kinda cool if Jimmy Uso wanted to stay in the match and at WrestleMania Rikishi came out to be his surprise partner.

Fignuts 03-18-2015 08:14 PM

That would be TOO COOL

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-18-2015 08:20 PM

Pretty Cool.

Mr. Nerfect 03-19-2015 09:04 AM

I'd rather see Jimmy Uso enter the Battle Royal and actually look pretty impressive in a singles capacity. Maybe he could even win the whole thing, as weird as that sounds, because I'm hoping for someone other than Sheamus, Ryback, Big Show and even Sandow to take it.

Naomi and Natalya could still have a match on the pre-show somewhere, and Cesaro & Kidd can defend the Tag Titles against Los Matadores and The New Day in a Triple Threat Tag Team match and look like world-beaters.

Mr. Nerfect 03-19-2015 09:06 AM

I was thinking today that I'd like to see Sheamus and Barrett come out of WrestleMania and start a rivalry where they just beat the shit out of each other for a few weeks. After one match, the two decide that they have really earned the respect of the other and should kick the crap out of everyone else.

Bad News Barrett & Worse News Sheamus. Or have Barrett go back to being "Wade" and call the team "Bad News."

Mr. Nerfect 03-19-2015 09:13 AM

Actually, why can't The Authority reward Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury for all their hard work by including them in the WWE Tag Team Title match too? It's odd saying this -- but those guys would really increase the mainstream fan's interest in that match.

drave 03-19-2015 09:26 AM

Sheamus and Barrett definitely have put on some solid, very physical matches in the past. That'd be a good feud and even IC/US contendership worthy while also keeping them "in the spotlight".

Dr. Maroon is a CTE denier. Oddly enough, he's employed by two entities that have high rates of concussions. CTE only started to be recognized as a thing after a guy went crazy, killed his wife, son, and then himself.

OXSports.com picked up on the group of WWE fans who were dressed like WWE Legends in the front row of Monday's RAW in Des Moines, Iowa. As noted, WWE security took the fans away from their seats a few minutes into the show and had them change their clothes. FOX Sports reached out for comment and a WWE spokesperson said the company apologized to the fans for being inconvenienced and offered them free tickets to an upcoming event. Apparently the group were told that their outfits were "too distracting" for the broadcast, which is rumored to be a Kevin Dunn pet peeve.

So basically, the moral of the story, is that to get free WWE tickets and merch, all ya gotta do is get camera-side tickets and dress as a WWE superstar.

Regarding the talk about Adrian Neville as a masked Mighty Mouse like character, whether it happens or not, that’s not so much an idea for Neville as much as an idea Vince McMahon has just wanted to do for a short wrestler for some time. At one point there was talk about Henry Cejudo for that gimmick as well, but he ended up going into MMA instead. The funniest part of all is that I doubt WWE has any idea UFC already has a Mighty Mouse, but then again, the UFC version isn’t wearing a mask. The idea is an underdog babyface character aimed at kids.

While not announced yet, the people working there are under the assumption a second season has been ordered. They go back to taping on 3/21 and 3/22 and they have tapings ordered past episode 39 (the first season was to be 39 episodes). In addition, El Rey just this past week in promotional materials for the growth of the network pushed Lucha Underground as pretty much its flagship show.

We also noted how Mark Henry apparently took a shot at the brothers during his SmackDown segment with Roman Reigns last week as he said you “young bucks” haven’t been anywhere, talking down to Reigns.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted on his message board that people within WWE report the line by Henry was indeed done to take a shot at The Bucks.

Back in February, WWE posted a “Fury” video on YouTube that was the “Superkick Party” edition. There was some chatter that this was also done to take a shot at the brothers and apparently that is the case. The term “Superkick Party” has been used by The Bucks for some time now.

We heard a few months back that the superkick move and the word “superkick” was being used on WWE TV a lot more. WWE has had restrictions on the move because it was once considered to be the sacred move of Shawn Michaels. There was talk within WWE that when The Bucks turned WWE down last year, WWE decided to up the use of superkicks in matches.

This week's Raw guest Bill Simmons appeared on ESPN's The Herd with Colin Cowherd today, where host Colin Cowherd continued his anti-wrestling stance.

Simmons, a lifelong wrestling fan, seemed like he knew it was coming. Cowherd has come under fire from wrestling fans for years for making derogatory and sometimes incorrect remarks about professional wrestling and the pro wrestlers themselves.

"I used to watch pro wrestling when I was a kid, but I also used to eat my boogers," Cowherd said. "You're a good looking guy with a big broad life and you're super smart, and you're going to be on WWE Monday Night Raw talking about guys fake wrestling. You would be the last person in the company I'd expect to like fake wrestling. What is it?"

Simmons retorted by asking Cowherd if he had been the the movies in the past year. Cowherd replied that he'd watched The Imitation Game recently and enjoyed it. "Did you hold it against Benedict Cumberbatch that he couldn't really overthrow Germany? Did that ruin the movie for you?" Simmons said. Cumberbatch was the star of the 2014 historical thriller in which Cowherd referenced

"It's people playing parts and playing characters, and they're trying to beat the crap out of each other," Simmons said. "These guys take a lot of punishment. I think as athletes, they're amazing. There's no off season." Cowherd jokingly asked Simmons if he knew it was fake, and Simmons said he didn't like that word. He asked Cowherd if pro wrestling could really be that bad if First Take host Michelle Beadle enjoyed it.

"Most people who like it I have utter disdain for. But when people I like watch it and I seek out their opinions, it disappoints me greatly. It'd be like if I found out our President played with Legos during summits," Cowherd said.

In 2012, Cowherd criticized then-WWE champion CM Punk for judging Nike's endorsement deal with Jon Jones, who had recently been arrested for DUI. Cowherd said that Punk didn't have the right to judge others due to the huge number of drug related deaths within pro wrestling. It has been well documented that CM Punk is extremely anti-drug. Cowherd has offered minimal praise to Vince McMahon, however, calling him a visionary. Cowherd has put over some of McMahon's ideas that he had for his failed XFL football league, and said that McMahon had made "zillions off dollars off of speedos and body oil."

Some other sheet news include:
  • Early betting favorites for Mania have Mizdow winning the Battle Royale and Ambrose winning the IC belt. Other matches have all the Faces as the favorites.

Might have to get that

Lock Jaw 03-19-2015 07:36 PM

Of course Mark Henry using the phrase "young bucks" is a shot at the tag team the Young Bucks because it isn't a real phrase or anything and appropriate in the context in which he was trying to convey his message.

CSL 03-19-2015 07:39 PM

yeah, having big problems believing WWE cares any where near that much about them as what was laid out in that quote

Bad News Gertner 03-19-2015 08:16 PM

Mark Henry is going to eliminate all 19 men in the Battle Royal via superkick

Droford 03-19-2015 09:12 PM

Mark Henry said he's going to bet all his money on Roman to win at WM.

So either

Roman wins and Mark plays rich Biff Tannen with the sports almanac character

Or

Roman loses and Mark plays a piss poor bum angry at Roman for ruining his life

Rich Mark Henry would actually be cool

I imagine him smoking cigars and offering to be Reigns manager..

Why not have El Torito do the mighty mouse gimmick. Or does that make the mighty irrelevant.

Jazzy Foot 03-19-2015 10:40 PM

I hope as part of her finisher, Natalya removes her top and then gives El Torrito and nice big bear hug squeeze.

Sting is in the WWE!?

Forgive me please gents. I haven't watched WWE since 2003. I literally just read that Sting will be at Wrestlemania. I am glad to read he is competing with Triple H, a fellow legend, but it's a pity's not The Undertaker.

It's also a shame that the Sting/HHH bout couldn't have taken place in 2002 or 2003 when I was still a kid and highly passionate about the business. :( That would have been great if at say Wrestlemania 18 Sting took on Triple H - The same card where Hollywood Hogan took on The Rock and the Undertaker wrestled Ric Flair. It would have been an ultra WCW vs. WWF PPV.

What can ya do, right? My TV had been giving trouble, but perhaps I will give it the ol' college try and fix it and check out Sting on Raw or I could watch it on YouTube if it's available.

Heisenberg 03-20-2015 12:41 PM
