Didn't actually see that ending spot between Stroman and Reigns til now. Lol Horrible.
|
Yeah, I didn't actually see it.... had it on in the background and heard Strowman won.... assumed it was in a convincing fashion.... guess not....
|
Literally looks like Reigns just willingly dives into the ambulance for some reason. lol

Looks like the "E" was right to "split them up" with the brand split.
I think Paige is going to end up a hardcore druggie or dead before they are through. |
She's so fucking young. She's coming out of those completely immature years, but she got given a lot before she could even legally drink. There's a lot of that "young starlet" diva shit going on with her. I hope that she and the WWE mend ways and they find a way to get her right as rain and repair that relationship. I mean, you know they want it, given that they haven't out-and-out fired her by now, and there is that movie about her family coming. Ideally, all parties would be on the same page. Hopefully something gets cooking.

I see what you did there in the 2nd to last sentence :shifty:

I wish I could say I didn't mean it.

Shelton Benjamin is apparently once again in talks of returning to the WWE.
|
He's already signed. WWE have teased his return on Twitter.
|
I'm actually glad. I know his work in New Japan got slightly negative reviews, but I have no doubt that the dude can still go when he needs to. And even though he wasn't known for his talking, he did have good enough presence to make people buy into him having some sort of charisma. He was a fun act while he was there. If he's used in the mid-card, without the lofty expectations of him reaching some sort of mega-star level, he'll be fine. But I also think that with wrestling having a star problem, he might shine a bit brighter than people expect.
I'd definitely take him over Jinder Mahal as the WWE Champion, for example. |
Whilst I'm a dude who prefers one-on-one matches, the idea of a 4-Way at SummerSlam for the Universal Title has got its appeal. Can you imagine Joe with the Coquina Clutch on Strowman on the outside, only for Reigns to Spear them through the barricade? Brock and Reigns could eventually square-off and Brock can get the F5, only for Strowman to pull out the referee and absolutely toss him. Brock can then dive onto Strowman. You can have Joe get Brock in The Clutch, but there's no referee. There's so much that can make this match stand out. I'd personally go with Reigns getting the belt here for the heat, with either Joe or Strowman taking the fall. Given that Reigns and Strowman have worked so extensively with each other this year, I'd go with Strowman taking the pin, leaving both Brock and Joe with gripes.
This could be compounded by the possibility that AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the US Title could be on the undercard. It may not be, but it could be. Imagine those two matches on the same show. |
Samoa Joe will get Roman in the Totinos clutch and then Brock will F5 both of them.
Feed him More! |

There was a "documentary" about her family on UK TV years agos. Her getting signed to WWE was one of the "storylines". I didn't watch it but I remember that's where Cool King's Paige hate stems from. Assuming she came off as a bit of a twat. |

Among the donations Sami for Syria has received include $5,000 from KO and his wife as well as $5,000 from Seth Rollins. Foley and Finn have donated as well. |
I hope ISIS targets NXT crowds next. It wouldn't be a loss.

Apparently the WWE have a Fatal 5-Way Women's Match scheduled for Battleground and are planning a 4-Way for the RAW Women's Title at SummerSlam. The theory Meltzer asserts is behind this is that it minimizes the amount of storytelling you have to do, and the idea is that you don't have everyone beat. In actuality, you have everyone except the champion lose.

So hostile. I personally really enjoy commentary, most of the time. I'm surprised they haven't added "live commentary" feed to the WWE app or a similar fashion that race tracks do for pit radios. Wouldn't be difficult to implement at all |
Whether you enjoy commentary or not, its pretty damn obnoxious to tell other fans to be quiet just so you can hear it.

Jazzy Gabert is being promoted on this website, and it turns out she is Alpha Female from Germany, who I always thought was a no-brainer signing.

She should probably be in the position Nia Jax currently is.

I was watching some mid 2000's era WWE and i was thinking about all of the veterans they had in the mid-card at the time and if some of them could be higher up now.
D'Lo Brown when he came back, he could've at least been i.c champ. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |
D'Lo suffered from being Russo's boy. He was fucking fantastic but no1 else saw anything in him.

That's both hilarious and pretty amazing. Wonder if its just some sort of habit he picked up from MMA and boxing since crowds are usually a lot more louder than typical WWE crowds. |

Was D'Lo actually a Russo boy? He seems to have stayed away from anything too ridiculous for the large part. I always connected the downtrend of his career to him losing something after the Droz incident. I don't know what it is (confidence?) but he never really seemed the same again. I just read that D'Lo got his ring name from his high school friend who died of cancer. He asked the boys' mother for permission to use it. |

He also had a close call with Val Venis at Summerslam '98. It is kind of cool that he was the only guy in every WWF incarnation of the Nation of Domination. Starting from being one of the extras and taking the sick bumps. He eventually became the only named extra in the group. And the only one to not get fired by Farooq the first time around (and his expressions leading up to that was amazing. You could tell he thought he was screwed, but nope, it was Clarence Mason.). |

Listening to JJ Dillon's latest podcast on booking a territory. I'm not super into it, but Dillon is cool to listen to. He's very soothing, so I've managed to drift off a few times (not because he's boring), but the most interesting thing that's come up so far is the idea of booking an angle. He emphasizes that you shouldn't have an angle on every show (no surprise there), but also that when you do film an angle, it's all the commentators should be talking about through the next match. It very goes against the "I wish the commentators would focus on the damn match" philosophy.
The whole thing is just another case study that makes me reflect on how the WWE has way too much television time to be good. |
I'm reading that Talking Smack has been pulled back as a weekly television show, and that it will now only be after PPVs.
|
I loved Talking Smack and will miss it, but I do understand the decision. Having it after 205 Live probably killed a lot of the audience. I like 205 Live personally, but I'd wager that the average WWE Network user doesn't bother watching it and even if they wanted to see Talking Smack weren't going to sit through another show to see it.
And even if you did want to watch all of it - when you add SmackDown, 205 Live, and Talking Smack together that's a solid 3.5+ hours of wrestling content, one night after you probably spent 3 hours watching Raw. I assumed they abandoned Raw Talk as a weekly show pretty quickly because they realized most people were already burned out by the time it came on - so I'm not too surprised to see it happening to Talking Smack. |
F you 205 live.
|
I watched more Talking Smack than episodes of Smackdown since Mania. Fuck this.
|
I just had the idea that Kurt Angle should make a trade with Smackdown for Chad Gable to further put him over, trading him for "alot".... Could add it to Angle's mystery phone call storyline that he "has lost it since he gave up X, Y & Z and that is way too much for Gable, he's incapable as a GM, yadda yadda)
I think Miz could be a great opponent for him one he is done with Ambrose..... |
I'd prefer something like that over the love child, but my latest prediction is that Angle has agreed to do some sort of celebrity dancing show and he has been training with newest RAW signing, No Way Jose, to prepare. The segment ends with Angle and Jose dancing in the ring.

I'd be all for canning the division officially. I think it's been a real detriment totally segregating them out from the rest of the roster. I actually could see value in most of the guys from that roster as far as helping to plug some holes in the midcard/undercard across both brands, but the division itself is incredibly meh.
Tozawa/Crews as a team is definitely something I could get behind. Gentleman Jack Gallagher plays his role really well and is the type of inoffensive comedy character I could see WWE keeping around on Raw. Drew Gulak and Tony Nese should start teaming again, maybe keeping Gulak's RTC-esque type gimmick. Send 'em to SmackDown and let them petition against the Fashion Police. Rich Swann can go to SmackDown and join The New Day because that's definitely something WWE would do. I imagine he'd replace whatever member turns heel to leave the group, probably Big E. Let TJP just be himself and people will keep booing him for being an MRA douchebag. |
