I wouldn't say awkward, more stupid/confusing.

I'm assuming that it was from some radio show?

What I got from it was "We're talking to Kane here, but we'll all be smartasses and reference an eighteen year old gimmick. Oh, we pissed off Kane because of that. Oh well, let's just talk about how much of a dick he is because he didn't react the way we wanted him to", all the while hearing constant pointless glass shattering sound effects.

This is not the first concussion that Bryan has suffered. Just before RAW went off of the air, a production guy looked up at Bryan and told him to keep chanting and Bryan looked very confused. Bryan himself then told WWE producers backstage after the show that he had very little recollection as to what happened in his match.

Just before the newsletter was published, the last word Alvarez received from his source was that Bryan's match at the Royal Rumble was off.

Daniel Bryan's concussion could be a blessing in disguise. The Authority could use it as an excuse to keep Bryan from competing in the Royal Rumble. This could be the driving force behind Bryan trying to do something to make his Mania memorable -- whether that be challenging The Undertaker or something else.
