Upon further review I would have done the Cass/Enzo split a little different.

When Corey announced that it was Cass who attacked Enzo, I would have had Cass admit it, then beat Enzo's ass.

Next week, Enzo comes out demanding an explanation. Cass comes out with the new look, and says "You want an explanation, fine! You see, Enzo..." Then hits him with the Microphone and beats his ass again.

Next week, Cass comes out by himself. Gives the promo he gave, without Enzo standing there looking like a bitch. Cass caps off his promo with "I am the future of the WWE. Because, like some peon said, I am seven foot tall... AND YOU CAN'T TEACH THAT!"

Enzo runs in and attacks with a big flying move he hopefully doesn't botch, knocking Cass to the floor.

To me, the division has been terrible from day one.

There's only really been one Cruiserweight match that's actually made me think "this is a great match" and that was Neville/Aries at WrestleMania 33.

The rest of the matches are usually just really bad with a few decent matches every now and then but overall, the division stinks.

It was quite obvious from day one that it was Cass.

The whole thing felt half-assed and rushed to me.

But in the end we got a singles run with a heel Cass. What's not to like about that?

I've been wanting this to happen since about a month after he made it to the main roster. Not so much the heel part, but I still think this new Cass will be good and be it heel or face, I've always felt that Cass is something special and one to watch for the future.

Yeah, I gotta echo Noid: I don't get Alexa Bliss either. She's pretty bleh .

drave 06-22-2017 02:46 PM

I can third the Alexa notion, other than being eye candy.

Emperor Smeat 06-22-2017 02:51 PM

Alexa Bliss ended up outing who in Creative wrote that terrible "This Is Your Life" Bayley segment a couple weeks ago.

Writer is named Johnny Russo which immediately generated the online jokes of if he's related to Vince Russo. Same guy is also in charge of the entire RAW Women's division so he's to blame for why its been terrible overall.

Evil Vito 06-22-2017 03:19 PM

I still think Alexa's improved heaps over the last year. I genuinely thought she was being called up too early during the draft last year, but she's really taken to her role.

Fignuts 06-22-2017 03:56 PM

Yeah, I'm not gonna compare her to asuka or charlotte, but ignoring how much she's improved is just being unfair.

drave 06-22-2017 04:17 PM

Didn't say she hadn't improved, but she is still very "meh" to me.

:y:

Actually, I think it was people gushing over The Usos' promos. It's just...okay, you are getting enjoyment out of it. It's not about yucking your yum. It's just the difference between favorite and best, and what you enjoy and what is actually good. Hell, wrestling itself could be considered "not good," but I enjoy it. I'm not going to justify it as an Emmy contender because I love it though.

I like Alexa Bliss just fine. She's wonderful to look at and pours her little heart into whatever it is she's doing. I quite enjoyed her NXT role -- even her early babyface stuff. I can just admit she's green as hell and has a long way to go before she gets as great as she is probably going to get, given their investment in her and her apparent ethic. I think they're blowing their load a bit early with her push now, because I think that by the time she gets really great, all the stuff that will be actually great about her will already be internalized by many of her fans now, and they will be the ones crying "boring" as she heads into her 9th WrestleMania championship match or whatever, as people who were chill on her are like "Wtf, she's great."

People do, man. There are some who say she is the best in-ring worker the women's division has. But I'm not saying she hasn't improved. Of course she's improved. She's improving all the time. She's only in like the 4th year of her career. If she's not improving, something is wrong. And for the limited amount of time she has had training, she is far better than where she should be. I've alway said that.

I still just think she needs a lot of work. I think her acting is pretty atrocious, her mugging is pretty annoying and early on in that SmackDown role, you could see her focusing on patting her head and rubbing her tummy at the same time. She's just not polished and that is fine.

But improving =/= great. Improving is a process through which you increase in ability level. Heidenreich may have improved between the years of 2004 and 2005, but what does that necessarily mean about his ability level?

To be fair, Buff WAS The Stuff............

Emperor Smeat 06-22-2017 08:41 PM

Buff complaining or sending his mom to complain why Big Show got a limo and he didn't during his first days in the WWE is still a really funny story.

Only found out recently the whole limo thing was actually just a prank by Big Show that spiraled into something a lot bigger and a reason why Bagwell was quickly released by the WWE.

At least I could pick Mark Mero or Chris Candido, two other famous 3rd wheels, out of a lineup. You could replace this guy with Curt Hawkins and I doubt anyone would notice.

That could actually be the gimmick that gets them over. Have Maria come out with some dude, calling him Mike Kanellis. And it be a different local talent every week. At PPVs, have it be a main roster person. Anyhow, the real Mike interferes to help the fake one win.

And it leads to an angle where Maria herself thinks Fandango or someone is her husband and Mike feuds with them over who she is really married to.

The Colóns' theme is four minutes long but only 45 seconds of it is original and then it loops for the rest of the three or so minutes. It's 55 seconds before it loops for Kalisto's four minute theme and 50 seconds for Lana's four minute theme.

Those were just random examples but it seems like CFO$ just creates a minute (or less) worth or music on FruityLoops and thinks "job done", whereas Jim Johnston used to make full length songs/instrumentals that would be between three and five minutes long and they were always great pieces of music and very rarely did they loop. If they did loop, it would be only once and very rarely twice.

CFO$ is very hit-and-miss with their music but they do have a few good ones and some full length songs as themes but that's a very small list and quite rare to hear one. The majority of their work is like the themes I've mentioned, short and looped to hell.

It kinda gives the impression that they rush their music and just throw anything together and hope for the best.

Quality-wise, Johnston was a lot better but WWE pretty much has a different philosophy for music now. Instead of spending a lot of time crafting a theme to fit a gimmick/character or everyone having long entrances, WWE now wants more themes made at the same time and for shorter entrance times in general.

Pretty much view them like ringtones which makes it a lot more attractive for customers on iTunes and other digital music stores.

Jim Johnston had a lot less work to do, they licensed a lot and had stock music for guys like Hardcore Holly and the Hardy's. They also have a lot more people coming in these days and need a fast turnaround before hitting NXT.

lol i love it, you are literally built like an ogre (a handsome ogre) and you have heinous descriptions of women.

But people tend to find what SEEMS obtainable to be attractive. Thus the Molly Holly love.

cuz the fact that we're doing something we like probably makes them more attractive to us?

Something happened during surgery that caused a blockage to occur in his brain and suffered a stroke that doctors couldn't fix in time.

I don't think they're gay. I do recall hearing the lyrics for their entrance for the first time and being big Simpsons fan, the words did make me think of this. :D

According to Mike Bennett, Kevin Owens is the main reason why him and Maria are in the WWE.

Quote:

On Edge and Christian's podcast of awesomeness Mike Bennett credits Kevin Owens for getting him signed to WWE.

Both Mike and Maria's contracts expired in Janurary for TNA but they kept working for the company for free trying to work out a new deal. Kevin Owens heard this and told Mike Bennett "What the hell are you doing?! Come here!".

So Bennett at the end of Janurary emailed HHH about working for WWE. Months passed and at the end of March HHH notified both of them they would be sending them contracts and they would skip NXT and head to straight to the main roster.

Mike and Maria sat at home 3 months until they got the call they would debut at MITB. They saw KO backstage and he said "I told you!"

You take them to be a bit much. You constantly project these emotions onto me that I simply don't have. You seem to take everything I say literally. Language can be hyperbolic or emotive without actually carrying the tone you get from it. A communication issue, but you take it as gospel, like I was having a mental breakdown or something. I was just getting bored. And I don't mean that aimed at anyone in particular or anything, it was just the critical level of the conversation. People enjoy different types of conversation, and that's cool too, but there was very little by way of "Hey, let's actually talk about this."

I don't think my opinion is the end-all, be-all. I've had many disagreements with posters I enjoy conversing with. I'm sorry I've given you the impression that I think that.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-26-2017 08:48 AM

My language is hyperbolic too, Noid. Kind sir. Its why im able to tell Destor i wanna fuck him in the ass while debating the merits of ring psycology.

Dont make this about trying to dig at my psyche. That is deflecting that fact that you were being a weeny. There are people who wholeheartedly agree with me on your weeniness in that situation.

So instead of getting world class female wrestlers for their tournament like they did for the CWC and UK tournament, we're getting a bunch of green as grass trainees for the mae young classic. Super.

Mr. Judgment issues an open challenge. Who answers? You have to watch and find out. But what you will find out besides his opponent is an amazing wrestling match.

Enjoy the action.

Was always going to be harder compared to the CWC and UK tournament because of the talent pool being smaller and trying to get everyone signed to a deal like with the UK. It was easier with the UK because everyone came from the same region and didn't require stuff like having to move to Orlando.

Main problem seems to be how bad the WWE mismanaged their time since they are still trying to get deals done this close to the tournament. Pretty much had to give up on the idea of everyone being signed to a deal and filling up spots with more NXT talent and "one night only" type talent.
