Agreed. I wanted to see Fandango become an Intercontinental Title-obsessed character at this point in time. Have him cut promos about how his parents were dancers at the after-show where Pat Patterson became the first Intercontinental Champion. A disgruntled Johnny Rodz made a pass at Fandango's mother, which caused his father to blind-side the former WWE South American Heavyweight Champion with a punch. Rodz would have no doubt killed Fandango's father if it weren't for security at the event, but Fandango saw the fire in his father that night -- both the dance and the fight.

It'd explain Fandango's entire presentation, and it would give him a real personal connection to the IC Title. It does make Fandango a couple of years older than he really is in kayfabe, but that would explain the maturity behind the character's style when he originally debuted, and only really adds intrigue to him, in my opinion.

Yeah, it was unfortunate. He followed WWE's policy of self-reporting a concussion if you think you have one, and WWE basically deemed him unreliable even though he was following the rules.

Jericho said on his podcast that he actually tried to talk Fandango out of self-reporting just because he had a feeling WWE would wind up killing his push.

A couple of stuff from the WWE & sheets:

When CM Punk was red hot and started to outsell the John Cena merchandise, I know people that work in the company in the merchandise department, I know people that work the arenas and sell the merchandise, and I can tell you eactly what WWE did: as soon as John Cena started getting outsold by CM Punk, they made 3 additional John Cena designs, they refused to make a second CM Punk design and they started undershipping the CM Punk design on purpose. For every CM Punk shirt they would ship to the arena, they would triple John Cena shirts and they would do 3 John Cena designs. So every 10 shirts in the arena, if 9 are Cena, only one is Punk. Punk is going to sell out right away ause they didn't send enough and at the end of the night they're going "Oh John Cena quadrupled Punk's merchandise." Of course he did! Because you've puprosely created a situation where it would be impossible for CM Punk to outsell John Cena.

We've told the story on the show before, years ago at Wrestlemania when WWE was struggling. It's Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart in the main event going 60 minutes, people are leaving during the main event, you can check the video tape. People are leaving during the main event of Wrestlemania, and Hall and Nash have both told me that Vince said that night that he would rather have a half full arena cheering for the guy that he says to cheer for than a full arena cheering for whoever they want.
From the recent MLW podcast (http://mlwradio.com/episode-168-who-is-they/). Assuming its true, would help to explain the huge differences between arena sales and online sales. Also possibly another example of them using confirmation bias to get the results they want instead of really listening to the fans or admit being wrong.

SPOILER: show
Alundra Blayze/Madusa is the one currently expected to be announced tomorrow.

Some other sheet news includes Rey Mysterio is currently asking around a $20,000 fee per show to any promotion that wants him until his deal with AAA is done. Samoa Joe is expected to reveal which company he's joining after his upcoming RoH dates are done.

Simple Fan 03-01-2015 03:00 PM

#AxelMania he should put himself in the IC ladder match and the battle royal.

Lock Jaw 03-01-2015 04:03 PM

Some AWA Wrestling on TV right now..... turned it on and the first guy who comes out is "Rock and Roll" Buck Zumhofe.... tag teaming with "Leon White" vs. The Alaskans.

Mr. Nerfect 03-01-2015 04:05 PM

That stuff about the CM Punk/John Cena merchandise is just so petty...

I don't doubt it.

Ultra Mantis 03-01-2015 06:23 PM

Ziggler has tweeted in the past about how his shirts were sold out but there was loads of Cena stuff left. I think even Orton has said something about there not being enough of his merch available at live events compared to Cena.

Mr. Nerfect 03-01-2015 08:13 PM

You'd think a company would want to make as much money as possible.

I'm happy for Alundra Blayze. The WWE have marginalized just how successful and important she was in the WWE during the early years of WrestleMania. My pipe-dream of Emma making the Divas Title match isn't going to happen, but I could see Alundra Blayze cancelling out Brie Bella's role in the ladies' match at Mania.

Charlotte debuts on RAW, wins the Divas title and dumps it into the trash. She then goes on to revive the WWE Women's Championship.

This right here would probably make me mark out more than any other possible scenario WWE can pull at this point in time. Not eve joking.

I think they have to have Alundra Blayze do that and hand the Woman's Championship over to current champion.

Although I do like the idea of the current Total Divas generation having no championship ties to the great ones of the past. If they did something like making the Divas Title exclusive to Total Divas Cast members and had the Woman's championship for the ones there for the right reasons it would work.

They do. They want to make as much money as possible WITH THE GUYS WE ARE TELLING YOU TO BUY MERCH FOR YOU UNGRATEFUL FUCKERS!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if they have a lot of Roman Reigns' Spider-Man logo shirts at live shows, but maybe 10 Ambrose shirts. As for #AxelMania shirts, i'd prob'ly have to silk screen it myself.

Dark One 03-02-2015 01:08 AM

This Brock Lesnar NUCLEAR HEATZ / showing up at UFC 184 thing has a couple of really hilarious-in-a-train-wreck-sort-of-way scenarios, assuming it's remotely true and doesn't get cleared up beforehand.

1) If Brock is leaving after Wrestlemania, which will probably be pretty obvious beforehand--Just imagine the absolute shit storm the main event will be. Goldberg/Brock was bad, but most of the type of people that are going to be at Wrestlemania will absolutely loathe Roman Reigns still and will know that Brock is leaving. I could see a very, very strong potential for a crowd reaction way worse than WM20--or probably the longest sustained "Daniel Bryan!" chant of all time.

2) It would be absolutely hilarious if Brock remained in pissed-off-BROCKSMASH mode towards WWE all the way up to the main event and went into business for himself during the match.

I'm actually way more interested in the main event now just to see what level of mega-clusterfuck it can reach, which, you know, means it'd be a really brilliant work.

Either way, Road to Wrestlemania:

I've said it before but the issue is that the full-time wrestlers haven't been built up well at all through the other 11 months of the year. WrestleMania SHOULD be a spectacle. The most uninteresting match on the card should be a big deal on any other PPV. The problem isn't that the full-time guys aren't being featured over the part-timers. The problem is that the full-time guys have been built so awfully since last years WrestleMania (and for years before) that featuring them at WrestleMania over guys who are true stars would be ridiculous.

Basically, WrestleMania isn't the time to try to convince the world that guys like Dolph Ziggler are a hot commodity by suddenly treating them like something special. It's the time to reap the benefits of building them up to the point where a major spot on the WrestleMania card makes sense and draws people's attention.

Think they're two symptoms of the same problem; almost a chicken/egg deal.

If most eyes are on 'Mania season and you present a guy as 1/6th of a match for the IC Title you can instantly take away that this guy is not a big deal. The casual audience are already programmed to see that a Dolph Ziggler or a Daniel Bryan is not on the same level (or anywhere near) as a HHH, Undertaker, Brock, etc.

When those guys leave after Mania you're left watching the also-runs. Then they spend all year treading water with the full-time guys, ready for next Mania to be more of the same.

Do they rest on their laurels because they can bring out the "Big Names" every year to sure up the card? Would they benefit from booking a few guys strongly throughout the year so that they can create new "Big Names"?

Last year should have made Daniel Bryan, and to a lesser extent Cesaro, those guys should be embroiled in meaningful feuds, if not over top titles, then over personal matters. Shit, they could even have done DB vs Cesaro, with both guys claiming that Mania 30 was their night and that they're no further along than they were a year ago in spite of their big wins. Play up their similar journeys on the independents, boom, meaningful, personal match that'd steal the show from an in-ring aspect.

I pretty much agree with XL on the issue of how WrestleMania is presented. You need to get that larger audience to latch on, and that means what they see needs to be meaningful, and come into play over the coming year.

Do you think the WWE will give Ivelisse/Sofia Cortez another look in the future? She's hot, she's young, she can wrestle. Wasn't her big crime being a fan of the party too much? That's something someone can outgrow, right?
