I'm not particularly into Elizabethan consort music, but it's not bad.

Il Giardino Armonico - Vivaldi : Concerti da camera, Vols 1-4 10/10

This is one of those rare instances that I give an album (or boxset in this case) full marks. Pieces and performances are exceptional. I know you are all too cool to listen to Classical music, but if you've never gone past Vivaldi's Four Seasons, you are missing out.

Kardemimmit - Autio Huvila 8/10

Baroness - Yellow & Green 6/10

Not particularly impressed; I've had their Blue album for years, but that has never really grabbed me either, but I decided give this record a go.

Kardemimmit - Onni (Happiness) 7.8/10

It doesn't grab me as much as the previous album, but still a solid, enjoyable record. I'm going to get their most recent record in a couple of weeks.

Tool - Fear Inoculum 7/10

A solid album, but it doesn't touch Lateralus or Aenima, and 10,000 Days is a more enjoyable album as well; it's not an essential record.

Started watching Booksmart. Starting to regret it. We will see.

Felated itself half a dozen times in the first 10 mins about how progressive this is going to be. Lesbians! Trans! No gender bathrooms! Stupid cis gender males! Powerful Women!

"If Mean Girls was shit" is the way this is trending.

So cheddar, but damn, if you suffer from anxiety or are feeling agitated, you should listen to this record; it will mellow you out like a motherlover. Right on!

Planet of the 8s - Tourist Season 7.7/10

A strong sophomore effort, but I found the first album a bit more engaging.

I'd probably give that record a solid 8/10 now.

After nearly six years, I decided to get a couple of other Brand New albums; listened to one this week and I'll listen to the other in the new year.

This is supposed to be their magnus opus, but I prefer Aqualung; still a very good album, though.

Entirely instrumental EP and more low-key than what they usually produce, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Vasen - Trio 8/10

Pieter-Jan Belder - Rameau: Complete Works for Harsichord 8/10

A solid week of music enjoyment.

Car Bomb - Mordial 7.7/10

As I mentioned in one of the threads in the Casual Forum, if you like Meshuggah and Dillinger Escape Plan, you'll probably like this album.

36 Crazyfists - The Tide and its Takers 6.5/10

A solid effort, but this band has never been more than a mid-card (at most) act.

Okra Playground - Ääneni Yli Vesien 7.7/10

Lacuna Coil - Black Anima: 7/10 Heavier than usual but it's not like I don't listen to other heavy stuff. Dark Adrenaline is still the gold standard but Cristina manages to always be the most talented person in the room nine times out of ten.

I haven't listened to anything by Lacuna Coil since their Comalies album; I occasionally listen to Unleashed Memories, but its been a while.

Broken Crown Halo from 2014 could be considered the end of the classic Lacuna Coil what with two members departing afterwards and then Delirium being a slight departure. I don't think I can ever dislike them. I'm already giddy about getting to meet them later this year for my birthday...even though Marco hit me in the face with a pick that one time.:|

Folk'Avant - Gryningsland 7.7/10

A Swedish/Finnish folk trio, made-up of vocals, fiddle and kantele. Good stuff, you savages.

Flying to Boston to see Rammstein Labor Day weekend.

It'll be my 4th time seeing them.

I had given The Beatles a wide berth until last year, so no, I hadn't heard any of their albums, though obviously their popular songs from various records.

I need to buy some more Beatles albums.

Yeah, all my friends keep telling me about their eventual stop here later this year. I've honestly never paid them any mind throughout their career but maybe I'll cave if enough of my friends are going to go. Have I been missing out?

From the stuff I've managed to pick up from years of my friend blaring metal in his car, they play bad ass. I guess it's the language barrier that's kept me from really delving into them. The year so far has me pretty booked but I've got plenty of time to decide. If nothing else, there'll most likely be an undercard act that grabs me by the nuts.
