The issue is that Cruiser wrestling has never been something that Vince cares for. The division to be handed to someone that has a passion for that type of wrestling and a creative business mind for making it something unique.

Because the very real issue of concussions and head injuries probably shouldn't be taken lightly and used as a sotryline in an industry where a whole shitload of people have gotten CTE and killed themselves.

Shibata's involvement in the death of Masakazu Fukuda makes me think there's no way he would go along with this being a work. And if he did go along with it he probably wasn't too comfortable with it, much as I'm sure Charlotte would've preferred to not use her brother's death in a storyline.

I'd rather it be a tasteless work than never see Shibata wrestle again, but I doubt that is the case.

That's Shibata's acting, not real. Hit himself just hard enough to cut, he knew what he was doing.

A belt maker for the WWE recently hinted the WWE still has plans of giving the blue treatment for the WWE title soon so it matches the brand split designs and colors done to other belts.

So, I got to see parts of the Young Bucks vs. Briscoes match from Destruction in Hiroshima, through NJPW.

I was willing to give the Bucks the benefit of the doubt. Granted, their style is highly choreographed and you have to sift through a bunch of shit to get to their greatness. But, they do have some great spots in them. And they're tremendous athletes. It's just not for me.

However, two spots happened that were so unbelievably stupid that no, I can't give them the benefit of the doubt.

1. They had one of the Briscoes up for the Tombstone and the other guy was on the apron, setting up for the Meltzer Driver. The guy on the apron got pulled off by the other Briscoe. So, does other Jackson just give his opponent the Tombstone anyway, because fuck it, he's already set up? NO! He fucking tosses the guy to the ground. That was absolutely the stupidest thing I had ever seen. So yeah, there was a reason why I dismiss them as the Dumb Fucks half the time.

2. The match ended with a Doomsday Device on one of the Jacksons. That part was fine. The part that wasn't fine was, before the finish takes place, Dumb Fuck decides to spit at the Briscoe on top and give him the birds. I get being defiant til the end, but all I could think was "If he did that to Hawk, he'd be dead." He wants to be seen as a bad ass, but that was probably the worst place to do it.

I've never understood this kinda stuff. People condemn backyard wrestlers but then worship all these strong-style Japanese guys? Don't get me wrong, a lot of Japanese wrestlers are fantastic workers, and certainly a lot more legit than any 15 year-old in his garden, but beating the shit out of each other for real... what's the point?

That headbutt is reckless, pointless and dangerous. No idea about the context behind this gif, who the guys are, if he is known to do this often or whatever, but if that's the case then he deserves every concussion he has coming his way.

That's Shibata and supposedly the headbutt he gave ended his career.

Aw okay admittedly I didn't read any comments or anything prior to seeing that gif, just having read from the top of the page, is it something he did regularly? I mean if it was a one-off (albeit an incredibly stupid idea), then I guess it's a shame for him if his career is over. Although if it's something he does in most matches, then fuck it, serves him right.

Either way, my original comments on the Japanese strong-style "let's beat the shit out of each other for real" style still stands.

I've never understood the logic behind pushing wrestlers from certain ethnic backgrounds to appeal to that audience.

I mean, if you watch WWE, surely you watch it for the sake of guys like John Cena, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles etc... basically, you watch it because it's the WWE, not because of that one dude who's from the same country as you.

And in the case of Jinder Mahal... he's a heel. Are Indian people supposed to "get behind him" or something? He's a bad guy! If Indian people watch WWE, I'm sure they understand how it works. I can understand having someone like Mahal under contract, and perhaps playing up his Nationality when they're overseas, but just seems so illogical to have to do it on home soil to appeal to an audience, who are likely watching regardless of that one dude, anyway.

I don't think Jinder Mahal is even close to the popularity that Khali enjoyed in India. To be honest, I am a bit intrigued by the formation of the Canadian Indian stable.

Khali videos are the most watched ever on WWE YouTube and people do enjoy seeing people close to them represented on the screen, not just in wrestling, but in other media too.

I just wish they signed Sonjay Duty instead and used him because then I wouldn't be taking a break from WWE.

Doubt Mahal's push is meant to appease to the Indian market but it was the main reason for Great Khali's pushes because at the time the WWE just entered the Indian market and wanted to take advantage of it. End result was that market becoming their biggest in terms of fans.

Then again appeasing to certain ethnic groups is why the WWF got very popular in the pre-Hogan era and why Bruno Sammartino had lengthy championship reigns.

Sports is similar whenever someone big from an ethnic background breaks a barrier or becomes a huge star since it leads to more of those people becoming interested as both fans and potential future players.

Bret Hart was a bigger start outside of the US than in it. So he had a value in foreign markets, obviously especially Canada. The NBA got lots of traction in China from Yao Ming. It's perfectly reasonable to think markets that are not well represented would be more interested in the product of people who looked like them were featured. Well not many people in India are cut like Jinder, but you know what I mean.
