They're good designs but the RKO one just looks like it should say RVD instead.

It's quite an "RVD Style".

According to DDP, if Dusty Rhodes had his way in WCW, Goldberg's first loss wouldn't have been to Kevin Nash but to DDP instead. Supposedly Eric Bischoff only rejected the idea because of a timing reason due to Entertainment Weekly releasing a new issue during that week which had Goldberg on the cover and with the WCW belt.

Dusty then tried to toss the idea of DDP winning but having a one day reign so Goldberg would get the belt back before the new magazine issue got released. Bischoff also rejected that idea as well.

Quote:

At the time Goldberg was still undefeated and defending his streak, as well as his WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Dallas noted that Dusty Rhodes had approached then-WCW President Eric Bischoff about possibly changing the title that night.

"Dusty would later tell me that he went to Bischoff and during the day of that pay per view he had said to him, you know E [Bischoff], this may be [Page's] night, he is ready. He tried to put that towards him. He said the reason why Bischoff didn't do it; I don't know why he didn't do it, and I don't know if Bischoff would say it is even true, but Dusty told it to me, he said that because in Entertainment Weekly that was coming out Goldberg was wearing the belt. Goldberg really gave that belt credibility, he worked like a champion. He said that was why he didn't do it that night, but I could have beat him that night and gave him the greatest loss ever and then he would have beaten me the next night. I would have done it in a heartbeat, but you know I'm so happy with the way things ended up."

Jerry Lawler thinks the WWE might cut back on the number of Hall of Fame inductees in the near future with his reason being how long the show and speeches have gotten in recent years.

Think its one of WWE's unwritten rules where there is an actual time limit for speeches but are very lax on enforcing it unless people start rambling or abuse the extra time too much.

According to the Observer, more evidence points to JBL being the cause for Ranallo's recent bout of depression.

Observer now thinks what triggered the recent mental incident was Ranallo being publicly happy about winning the Observer's fan voted Announcer of the Year award which pissed off JBL. JBL then using the recent episode of Bring It To The Table to bash Ranallo which Ranallo likley wasn't aware of beforehand was the final straw to cause the depression to kick in.

The whole incident had been building for a while but its believed those two incidents are the causes for Mauro's current bout of depression.

I'm thinking we have our show closer now.

Evil Vito 03-30-2017 02:15 PM

That they made up a special shirt for it I'm inclined to think it will be closing out the show. I was thinking it would anyway if it was planned to be Taker's last match. It also lets Reigns headline a third Mania in a row. The million dollar question is if they will let Reigns relish in the boos he's going to get, or if they will be tone deaf and do a handshake deal after the match. Given their booking of Reigns I think the answer to that is pretty clear but a guy can hope.

Also I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea of Goldberg/Lesnar closing when it's unlikely to go more than five minutes without having some sort of rest spot in the middle.

The Redemption angle is the only thing that makes this match even worth following so a straight up HHH win makes it a throw-a-way. So yeah, I'm sure they'll do it.

Only way I see this happening & make it matter for continuity is to have Kurt Angle come down & interfere costing Rollins the win. HHH makes Angle the new Raw GM on Monday as a heel. Angle's first match would be against Rollins later in the year (maybe Summerslam). Then I can see at some point a rehash of the old storyline with Angle & Steph where HHH becomes the jealous husband making Angle/HHH one of the main events for next year's WM. Imagine what a Steph/Angle camera kiss would look like now after all these years....

Story about Steve Blackman almost murdering JBL from Bob Holly's book:

Quote:

JBL liked to fuck with people. One time, he pulled up beside me at a stoplight and I knew something was up. At the next stoplight, I was looking at a map when John pulled up behind me and rammed my car right through the stop light into the middle of the intersection. Cars were speeding through but John kept on pushing. I took off pretty quickly. Steve Blackman was in the car with me and he was pissed. I thought it was funny but wanted to get back at Bradshaw so, after he got ahead of us, I did 95 down the highway and hit his back bumper. After that, John stopped fucking with me because he knew I’d retaliate.

At Kansas City airport, Steve and I were waiting around when Bradshaw came over. It was an early morning flight and John was still drunk from the night before. He started patting Steve’s ass. Steve said, “John, I don’t play that shit, knock it off.” John patted him again. And again. Steve was getting brutally pissed. He told him, “John, next time you do that, I’m going to knock your fucking teeth out.” So, of course, John did it again. Steve whipped around and backhanded Bradshaw, popping him with jabs in the face. John started swinging and missing, and his head was snapping back with each of Steve’s jabs. Steve stepped back, planning to kick Bradshaw’s knees out, but he got his leg caught in a bag handle. Al Snow and I grabbed Steve, Ron Simmons grabbed John, and we pulled them apart. John was walking back and forth like a bandy rooster, looking to fight. Before we left, Steve told him, “I’m going to fucking kill you.” He meant it too.

We got our car and got on the road. Ken Shamrock was riding with us. Me, Blackman, and Shamrock. That’s a dangerous car, and I’m the warm one — a teddy bear compared to the other two. That whole journey, Shamrock was poking and prodding Steve, telling him that Bradshaw was going to beat his ass. Steve wasn’t saying a word. And who did we see when we checked in to the hotel? Bradshaw and Ron were right there. The boys don’t always stay at the same hotels, so it was a complete coincidence and not a good one for John. He came over to apologize and Steve said, “No apologies, I’m going to finish you later,” then walked off. We found him in the gym, still boiling mad. Once we were in the arena and had sat down in catering, John walked in. Everybody went silent as Steve stood up. He said, “If you’ve got something to say to me, you say it now or I’m going to finish you in front of everybody.” Bradshaw walked over, apologized and said, “I shouldn’t have fucked with you,” and shook his hand. That was the end of it. Steve sat down and said, “Bob, if it wasn’t for that bag, John would be in intensive care right now.” Trust me, I believe it — if anybody can put Bradshaw in the hospital with one kick, it’s Steve Blackman.

Roman.

We've collectively shot ourselves in the foot as WWE fans on Roman. We've created this, again. It is the exact same story as John Cena. WWE pushed a baby face, we reject him, have more fun booing him than we would playing along with the story and giving him the hero's welcome.

I wonder if this is just the way it is going to be now, if WWE's lead babyface will always get punished for being "the chosen one". Obviously a large portion of the WWE Universe still loves to hate Cena, but I think he's widely accepted more than he used to be as "The guy" on the WWE roster. His match record speaks for itself, he has great matches. I'd say the same for Roman but he's two times the worker Cena is. His matches will continue to be solid to great, and he will continue to be punished for being "the chosen one". Just like Cena, what would happen if you turn him heel? He'd be cheered, because we cannot allow WWE to tell us how to feel about anyone, especially "the guy". Austin broke the mold, Rock followed, allowing heelish persona's to be revered as qualities befitting of "the guy", the top baby face. No longer can we accept someone who is willing to "play by the rules". So perhaps like Roman has recently stated, why should he pick one side of the fence or the other? As long as he's getting a loud reaction, then he's doing his job. Bottom line, Roman is a great worker, born and bred for WWE legend. I'm not saying his booking couldn't have been better, same could be said for Cena. But with what he has to work with he does a great job. This Sunday there is a great chance he will be booed more than anyone ever at WM, he will end the Undertaker's career in all likelyhood and then go on to feud with Lesnar as the top babyface, and there is just nothing that we can do about it. Except stop watching and paying. And if you didn't do that for Cena, then I don't see you doing that for Roman.

Samoa Joe's signing session at axxess had to end early because of lack of interest :(

They had him there as an overflow for Reigns and Nikki Bella...

haha! What show was that?

#1-norm-fan 04-01-2017 04:18 PM

It's a DDT show. That's that title that is won by inanimate objects, animals and old, drunk, drugged up wrestlers.

Former champions include Vince McMahon's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a guy cosplaying as Spider-man and a pork bun.

What I found hilarious was that people were complaining that Joey Ryan was bringing disrespect to the DDT championship as well. You know, the company that gave us this

Drew McIntyre revealed during an interview with ESPN that he signed a new deal with the WWE.

Quote:

ORLANDO, FL -- In an exclusive interview just moments after his surprise appearance at NXT TakeOver Orlando, Drew McIntyre confirmed to ESPN that he has joined the brand full time.

For the second straight year, an unexpected appearance at NXT TakeOver during WrestleMania weekend shocked the crowd. This time around, it was a familiar face, as former WWE superstar Drew McIntyre appeared in the front row prior to the NXT championship match in Orlando.

If there was any doubt about his intentions, they were put to rest during an exclusive post-TakeOver interview with ESPN.com

"Well, the answer's pretty simple," said McIntyre. "I've won championships all across the world. I've helped build brands. So what's the next logical thing for me to do? It's to come here and win the NXT title."

It's hard to take attention away from competitors as charismatic and popular with the crowd as Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode, but McIntyre did just that when his face flashed on camera. The assembled crowd at Orlando's Amway Center cheered wildly for the returning Scotsman, and NXT fans can do a lot more of that in the coming weeks and months.

"If that's not clear enough for everybody, Drew McIntyre has signed with NXT," McIntyre said definitively.

With Roode defeating Nakamura, the unclear NXT championship picture is now a little more crowded. A former WWE intercontinental and tag team champion, McIntyre returns after nearly a three-year absence from the company. In that time he worked for numerous independent organizations, including EVOLVE, where he was an EVOLVE champion and a two-time tag team champion (with one reign alongside Johnny Gargano).

I gotta say though, Thea Trinidad does a really good AJ.

The match that follows is pretty funny but also weird to see, only because Florence Pugh isn't a wrestler, so only the beginning and the aftermath of most moves are done with the big bumps being done later by Tessa Blanchard who is Florence Pugh's stunt double.

#1-norm-fan 04-02-2017 01:58 PM

That AJ entrance video is so weird. lol

She does do a pretty good impression though. Sounds like her. Captures her mannerisms.
