Brilliant. What a fantastic retort.

souness was a better footballer this has been proven by the fact he had a moustache!

did anyone hear savage getting interviewed at half time during the england game? how mant times can you fit erm yeah into one sentance ? he must hold the record!

i watched the match on sky one last night and thought it was a good game and abit fiesty at times! Matt Le tiss is quality! only thing that annoyed me about the game was the fact darren campbell was able to run about for 90 minutes yet couldnt last 20 seconds in athens

As soon as i posted that i went and checked Sky Sports News and it had Dave Bassett appointed temporary manager on the ticker :'(

I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't re-appoint managers who were crap for the club.

Former Sunderland and Leeds manager Howard Wilkinson has been appointed temporary first-team coach of Leicester.

Wilkinson, the one-time England caretaker coach and technical director, will work with Foxes director of football Dave Bassett following the resignation of Micky Adams on Monday.

Bassett told Sky Sports News: "I spoke to Howard about helping Leicester out and he's accepted that situation.

Wengerland :'(

:'( !!!!

I'll give him a chance though, also seeing as Gary McAllister was his captain in the Leeds title win i'm hoping theres a link there and Macca will come back as manager :o

Cruiserweight 3:16 10-13-2004 07:51 AM

As a Leeds fan I'm pretty biased towards Howard Wilkinson, so I'll say that Leicester fans should give him a chance. His track record in the early - mid '90's is really impressive, and he wasn't exactly going to work wonders at Sunderland when they were completely screwed. Besides he's only a first team coach so I seriously doubt that he'll make things worse for them

Mr. Monday Morning 10-13-2004 09:08 AM

He completely fucked up the England Under-21s though :o

Cruiserweight 3:16 10-13-2004 09:13 AM

England 1-0 up at half time, Owen with the goal.

BCWWF 10-13-2004 06:29 PM

USA plays tonight on ESPN2. I'm not sure if its a friendly or a qualifier, and I'm not sure against who either. I wanna say Costa Rica or El Salvador, but really I have no idea.

Ogen 10-13-2004 07:47 PM

Ireland won 2-0 against the Faroe Islands we really needed about 4 from it to boost the goal difference but at least its 3 points

Mr. Monday Morning 10-13-2004 08:31 PM

Robbie Keane :love::love::love:

Ogen 10-13-2004 11:59 PM

Pretty bad when you think about it our goal scoring record holder only being 24 shows how poor we've been in the past but Robbie is fucking brilliant

After 10 games in the South American qualifying zone, Chile is 5th. The top 4 qualify and the 5th nation plays off against Australia. Venezuala is just behind Chile on goal diff. Fuck I hope it's them. 8 games to go.

toxic rooster 10-15-2004 04:30 AM

not a chile fan?

yianni 10-15-2004 05:31 AM

I'd take Chile over Uruguay, but I'd take Venezuala over Chile for a few reasons. Firstly, Venezuala have never qualified for the World Cup and are regarded as the whipping boys of South America. So if they finish in 5th they'd be in a similar position to Australia in terms of inexperience. We'd actually have more experience than them cos at least we've made the World Cup before. Secondly, Chile have ALOT of supporters here, especially Melbourne. When South Melbourne played Colo Colo in a friendly here a few years ago, 5000 Chileans rocked up and they made ALOT of noise. Of course, 90,000 Australians at the MCG will overpower them in noise, but the trip to Chile will be very difficult.

I prefer Venezuala also because we played them in a friendly over there at the start of this year, without Kewell, Viduka and a few other first team regulars and held them to a 1-1 draw (only conceding right at the very end). Obviously this was only just a friendly game but without many regulars of the first team we shat over them for large periods of the game. If we play that well again I'm confident we could beat them 2-0 in Melbourne then hold out for a draw or a 1-0 loss or something over in Venezuala. Also I doubt there are many Venezualans in Melbourne. :D

Shawshank 10-15-2004 04:41 PM

middlesbrough havent yet recieved any tickets from elgardo for thursdays game and now dont exspect to recieve them until monday at the earliest leaving the fans having to search for last minute deals to travel there!

what do you guys think about the boro, newcastle and arsenal games all being played in the space of 24 hours ? i think its fifa testing the english fans to see if they will riot when all together abroad!

Cruiserweight 3:16 10-15-2004 05:53 PM

Sam Allardyce has said how he'll allow Speed to coach Wales, but not manage them

It should be...not 100% sure, but I think by the time the World Cup Qualifiers come around next year a vast majority of the stadium upgrades will be completed. You going to travel down here to watch?

Danny Electric 10-16-2004 01:02 AM

Ha ha Australians. I remember when Iran beat you in qualifying because you lost your concentration due to the goal falling down.
Then Azizi destroyed you and my dad took me out for dinner to celebrate. Good times.
