You’ve fucked up not going with Freak Show
|
Yeah.....
It starts rather intensely, what the first few mins of the first episode. It was a slow burn after that and seemed boring in between the actual shocking shit. |
Bout halfway through 2nd season of The Witcher.
I lol'd too hard at Geralt calling someone a "firefucker" because fire magic is forbidden, but one of the baddies dabbles with it. |

Coven is the next best season.
Coven is actually funny, and given the subject matter that really is an achievement. |
Can't wait for whatever they do next with the coven. They could spin that whole story off into its own show and I would def watch it.
Binging the hell out of these obviously. Time to get this Freakshow on the road. |
I've just finished season 2 of The Witcher. I liked it more than the first season, especially as they dropped the whole Westworld multi-timeline shenanigans, which was not executed well in the initial season. But, overall, while I enjoy the series, it remains a B-rate programme at best.
I've also finished season 3 of The Outpost. It doesn't have the budget of The Witcher, Wheel of Time and other similar programmes, and the acting is iffy at best; but they make the best of what they've got, and is a show that is not afraid to take chances. Furthermore, Jessica Green is just ridiculously attractive. Like, seriously, she is just obscene. |
Finished up the season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Dunno. Something felt lacking this season. Some funny stuff for sure going on, but on the whole, I dunno....
|
I finished Sea of Silence. It was decent. Nothing amazing. Just decent.
|
Freakshow is some of the best TV I think I've ever seen. It's so unique and obv not scared to take risks. Gripping stuffz. This is another AHS universe I could have watched as its own show.
Theres a certain character that appears at a couple points that I really think they could use as the basis for a "connected" season. Found him very intradasting. |
Ok so I'm on hotel now. Porno vampires in episode 1 lol. They seem fun.
|
ngl I'm really looking forward to Roanoke. I think that's next. I'm assuming it ties into the old stories from there somehow. Always been fascinated by that.
|
just picked up The Starlost gonna give that one a watch
|
Finished off Witcher season 2 last night. Looks like they're gearing up season 3 to be one hell of a ride with the way they left things.
|
Who watching The Bachelor? Midwest ass white dude going with way too many blonde women imo.. Daria fine as af and she didnt get the rose :wavesad:

Finished season 4 of Yellowstone.
The show is just on the right side of ridiculous, and has some great scenery porn. |
Finished AHS: Hotel.
Liked this one a lot too. Prob my 2 fave characters in the series so far in Liz Taylor and James Patrick Marsh. Feel like they'll be revisiting the Cortez at some point in the future. |

It's all but there. Really thought they were alluding to the crones with Yennifer this season..... but alas, it was not. They would have to do a big detour NOT to go this direction. |
Finished Roanoke. Didn't really care for it unfortunately. Don't often like found footage/fake documentary movies. Tbh it didn't even feel like AHS after watching like 6 other seasons.
Watching Cult now. Also very different and not what I was expecting. Election hysteria and the like were the last thing on my mind going in with no knowledge of it. I must say I do like the guy morphing into a cult leader. Interesting character there, especially the way he plays it. |
Asylum is my all-time favorite season
Murder House, Hotel and 1984 are my other favorites (in no particular order) |
Finished the 1981 'epic' mini-series, The Manions of America, starring Pierce Brosnan and Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway).
It is set between the 1840s and the Fenian Rising (1867), and is about an Irish farmer (Brosnan) who dreams of a free Ireland, but is forced to flee to America, where he slowly works his way up until he is in a position to help his fellow Irishmen in the 'cause.' By modern standards, it is fairly naff and there is some godawful Irish accents (I'm looking at you Linda Purl), and there are some ridiculous moments that are occasionally added to inject fresh drama into the proceedings. But, it is also fairly easy to watch and the three 90-minute episodes fly-by. However, it is nowhere near the top drawer 80s programming of Jewel in the Crown and Brideshead Revisited. |
Pen15 was really good. I like me some cringe comedy. Some of the background stuff that was happening was super relatable simply due to the fact I was in middle school at the same time period this show was set in.
Like the music they used made me really nostalgic. And that damn AIM episode... |
Holly Hunter was a terrible addition to Succession.
Sarah Snook already plays her role, same speech impediment and everything. My ears can’t take it. |
The Kendall rap bit is actually mind blowing shit man... what the fuck.
|
AHS: 1984 was ok. Nailed the 80s camp vibe. Also delivered another character I thoroughly enjoy in Mr. Jingles.
|
I've finished season 5 of Billions. Everyone in this show is, to varying degrees, absolute arseholes, but great to watch. I believe season 6 starts next week, so once it is fully up I will watch that one as well.
Slowly but surely I've watched seasons 1-3 of Ripper Street. I'm not sure if I'll watch the other two seasons; I probably will, but I'm not in a rush. |
I believe the last episode of The Expanse is released tomorrow, so I'm going to re-watch season 5 before I tackle the final season.

The Critical Drinker does it again.

Wait the final season of The Expanse is out? Shweet.
Finally finished all of AHS. The Red Tide half of Double Feature was excellent. Really liked it. Hope to see McCauley back in the future too. Death Valley was ok up until the abrupt af ending. Felt like it needed at least another episode or 2. Can't think of any other season that ended up on such a cliffhanger. Now I'm left wondering where this story thread will be picked up in the future seasons. |
Completed the last season of "F Is For Family"
|
Starting Archive 81. Seems intriguing. Hope it's good.
Will watch the end of The Expanse after this. |
Series 3 of After Life was decent enough but with some truly outstanding moments of comedy dotted around. It’s dreadfully formulaic though, far too many musical montages.
|
Archive 81 is not what I was expecting but it's still pretty good so far. Very dark and ominous feeling show.
Just saw that Raised by Wolves season 2 comes out in like 2 weeks. Super hyped for that one. |
OK I watched another episode and this show is REALLY not what I was expecting. It gets weird.

Did After Life S3 over two nights. Had me in tears. Again.
|
Finished the final season of The Expanse.
As always, the show grabs you like a motherfucker. But, it was also a fairly weak way to go. The war with Marco Inaros and its conclusion felt rushed, and there are several unresolved matters: what are the entities in the space gates, and what the hell was happening on and above the planet of Laconia. I think if they had had double the episodes in this final season, they could have resolved everything in a more satisfactory fashion. Hopefully, Netflix or perhaps another service might pick it for another season or 2; probably not though. |
