Bad News Gertner 03-14-2014 04:06 AM

Every time someone does an interview in 97 split screen during a match Vince cuts them off on commentary lol. I don't think much thought was put into Raw.

Lock Jaw 03-14-2014 04:07 AM

Trying to go to sleep. Misfits in Action theme stuck in my head for some reason.

Dun DUN dun DUN DUN MISFITS! Dun DUN! Dun DUN dun! IN ACTION!

Bad News Gertner 03-14-2014 04:09 AM

Alrighty, new Raw, week before Wrestlemania 97. Bret vs Sid in a cage match for the WWF Title is the main event. It's the go-home show, so it should be good.

Starting off with the Legion of Doom vs Savio Vega and Crush from the Nation of Domination.

Bad News Gertner 03-14-2014 04:13 AM

Haha oh God, Ahmed Johnson is doing a split screen interview and Vince can't understand what he's saying so he just cuts him off.

Farrooq does the same and tell Ahmed he's gonna speak in ebonics so Ahmed can understand him haha!

This match is awful so the interviews don't take anything away from it. Crush is atrocious.

Bad News Gertner 03-14-2014 04:17 AM

Christ, LOD vs Crush and Savio went over 15 minutes and it ended with a dq.

Bad News Gertner 03-14-2014 04:25 AM

HHH vs Flash Funk next. Lol last show before Wrestlemania features a match with two guys who have nothing to do with each other.

Fucking awesome ending. You could make the case that that was the night the Mr. McMahon character began.

Fignuts 03-14-2014 04:38 AM

Taz vs Sabu was so fucking awesome.

Match has that indescribable aura to it.

Can't wait for Nitros to go up so we can see all the cruiserweight matches. Fuck yeah, SUPER CALO

these are on the wwe network already?

Fignuts 03-14-2014 04:42 AM

God, why didn't they have this network when I was om unemployment? I would of ran that shit dry.

#1-norm-fan 03-14-2014 04:53 AM

I don't think he's watching the Raws on the network.

#1-norm-fan 03-14-2014 05:02 AM

I can't remember... what did they say would happen to the Sid vs Taker match and the Bret vs Austin match at WrestleMania if Bret had beaten Sid on that Raw? Or did they just kinda ignore how it would change things?

#1-norm-fan 03-14-2014 05:49 AM

Watching an old ECW episode from around 1994. Arn Anderson and Terry Funk are cutting a promo building to a match against Bobby Eaton and Sabu and Anderson says "Guys like me and Funk and even guys like Bobby Eaton need to pass the torch..."

Arn didn't know what the fuck he was talking about. 20 years later and Eaton still hasn't hit his prime yet.

Innovator 03-14-2014 07:46 AM

Turned it on to see Big Show's dad's funeral. I love this network.

Can you believe that Arn works backstage as an agent? Imagine the terrible advice he passes on to young wrestlers.

Watching Raw 1997. Big match between Leif Cassidy and Miguel Perez, followed by Billy Gunn was wasn't even Rockabilly yet vs Aldo Montoya.

How this company managed to turn it around in a year is amazing.

Yeah, that was definitely in my podcast notes. Christian, who has used a one-man conchairto on multiple occasions, sees a bunch of chairs and a downed Sheamus, and thinks "aha, I should frog splash onto a couple chairs!"

Lock Jaw 03-15-2014 03:50 AM

Chairshots to the head are banned... even obviously fake ones where he is just hitting another chair with a chair. Gotta teach the kids to not hit each other with chair in the head.... only the back and gut.

Poit 03-15-2014 03:59 AM

Del Rio gave Edge a 1-man conchairto when they feuded, and that was just a couple years ago. Have the rules changed that much since then?

James Steele 03-15-2014 04:06 AM

They fined HHH and Undertaker for chairshots to the head, FFS. The days of any kind of chairshots to the head area are done even if the actual risk of a chairshot to the head is low.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have taken to writing storylines more reactionary, allowing the crowd to dictate which direction to take the show. Like Rock's heel turn after facing Hogan, that wasn't planned either, but it was the right thing to do.

It focuses more on his music and outside interests, but still a great read. Jericho's books are only rivaled by Foley's. I really hope JR gets around to writing a book. He said on his podcast that the book market sucks right now, so he is afraid of doing one.

Rammsteinmad 03-15-2014 06:22 PM

Jericho's books are probably two of my favourite books. Incredibly funny, interesting, and well-written.

That third one is probably has the lamest cover, but I'm sure the book itself will still be awesome.

We have the worst commentators in existence for the local wrasslin show we cover... Seriously just terrible....

Two fat slobs who are more concerned with putting themselves over and "being cool". Both of them act like the "bad guys" and rip apart everybody who isn't a heel... except for one heel who is a "masked Mexican" and so they rip him apart too. Occasionally, though, they will even dig at the heels who they were just praising.

There is one heel in particular who they are both "in love" with... we taped three shows yesterday... and the "story" was that he was kept off the first show... so they kept incessantly talking about him for two whole episodes... and then when he finally had a match they pretty much ignored him and just started making jabs and jokes and "innuendo" about his female valet.

Worst thing they did was the big title match... that they have been building towards for three shows... it is going on... and they are freaking ignoring it. Talking about other sports, talking about themselves as usual.... saying things like "Ahahaha! Look at that grom in the crowd, he can't even spell! We need to get a shot of his sign! Can we get a shot of his sign?! [Calls out camera guy by name, who can't hear him], can you spin around and get a shot of that sign?! We need to get a shot of that!"

No. We do not. How about you talk about the major title match going on in the ring right now? With the heel that you have been cheering for for three shows to take the belt? Look at your monitor and talk about what is on the screen, and don't just look around at the crowd.

It was just terrible.
