Uh oh, New England have grabbed all the momentum.

Okay, thos shampoo Super Bowl commercial has a Tye Dillinger endorsement deal witten all over it.

Mr. Nerfect 02-05-2017 09:06 PM

Lol, Santino Marella did an interview where he said Roddy Piper slapped harder than Jim Cornette. Yeah, dude, that's a huge surprise. He also seemed to miss the part of his own story where Corny was telling him it was better he was slapping him around than Marty Wright.

Marella is a funny guy, but every time he does an interview I am convinced he is a fucking idiot.

Wondering if The Spirit Squad are still with the WWE considering that they're both listed as official members of the Smackdown roster.

Damn...feel stupid having forgotten about that...one of the few good tracks from WWE Originals. I seem to recall he started to use it @ or just before or after WM XX. I'm sure he had it at least AT WM XX, because he and Rob Van Dam were a tag team and they either fought for or defended the then World Tag Team Championships at the show in a 4 corners style Fatal-4-Way 8-man tag.

They're probably not officially signed, but might be brought in if they need anybody. It'd be good to see them show up at WrestleMania for the Battle Royal or something.

Wrestlemania X8 on the Gamecube had this.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-06-2017 06:14 PM

Was that Booker theme actually officially ever used in an arena? I remember it being the one they dubbed over on DVDs when they didn't want to licence his theme, which is why it's in games like X8 and Crush Hour as well.

Damian Rey 2.0 02-06-2017 06:25 PM

I think so. I remember him coming out to it at some point.

Possibly, but they would have to cut overtime in some way like college and pros do. I seem to recall a Saturday night game going to 4 overtimes, and J.R. making the call: "I think I just heard Lorne Michaels faint!"

That's not from WWE Originals. It's a dubbed theme.

It was never actually used live in arenas. I may be wrong, but I think it's just used on the Judgement Day and Armageddon 2003 DVDs and also WrestleMania X-8 and Crush Hour (like you said) but also WrestleMania XIX too.

Cool King 02-07-2017 02:23 PM

I wouldn't mind a WWE Originals 2 being released though.

Cool King 02-07-2017 02:25 PM

Maybe even a Crush Hour 2 but at a cheap price.

I know Crush Hour was pretty much panned and it wasn't that great of a game, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Maybe if Daivari's didn't stay in the hold position, it wouldn't have pissed him off.

This

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-07-2017 02:46 PM

They have to give the crowd time to realize what happened to react. Even RKOs "out of nowhere" are set up.

Big Vic 02-07-2017 02:50 PM

He should collapse his arm immediately.

If I was road agent Road Doggy Dogg I would have whooped their asses then get a promotion.

Big Vic 02-07-2017 02:51 PM

I would be less annoyed if they did that spot on Saturday Morning Slam though.

Vastardikai 02-07-2017 03:17 PM

I think a better reaction would have been Daivari looking at his hands like "Wait, what?"

Similar to the reaction to Billy Robinson's full nelson escape. (Regal did the same spot, but elbowed the guy in the face before they could react.)

Anyone know any funny wrestling stories? I don't get much of a chance to watch anymore but I just read a bunch of classic Haku stories that made me eager for more.

Not sure about Holy Foley but Edge has been teasing for a while on Twitter about them working on ideas and gags for the next season. Pretty much them having a hard time coming up with enough gags is why its taking them a long time.

#1-norm-fan 02-09-2017 08:14 PM

Here's an odd fact I just found out while researching something...

Out of all wrestlers with at least 250 matches under their belt, Goldberg has the best winning percentage of all time. Number two? Mojo Rawley.

lolwhat?

Lock Jaw 02-09-2017 08:15 PM

GET ON THAT HYPE TRAIN, BABY

#1-norm-fan 02-09-2017 08:20 PM

Slightly less odd, if we limit it to just wrestlers with over 50 matches The Ultimate Warrior has the best winning percentage of all time and Asuka is 2nd.

Mr. Nerfect 02-09-2017 09:55 PM

That really is weird. There is something to unpack there about how guys are booked, frankly. Asuka having the best winning percentage of all-time would be a great gimmick if they kept her strong and clear of the 50/50 club.

According to WWE's recent fiscal report, Network has around 1.5 million subscribers with the breakdown being 1.4 million paid in the US and around 400k for the rest of the world. Puts them around the break even range (1.3-1.5 million per month) although for the first time they didn't include free accounts into the numbers.

WWE did not announce how many subscribers they currently have if you include the free subscriptions they have given away through Wrestlemania to former paid subscribers

In terms of overall revenues, WWE managed to have its highest fiscal year ever at $729 million in revenue. Net profit ended up being around $33.4 million overall which ends up being lower than pre-Network era for that category. TV fees basically carried the company this year since everything else was mostly down.

Revenue numbers are the highest in company history. Profits are still well below the pre-Network levels, although most projections are they will be at or ahead of those levels in 2017 due to an increase in TV rights fees and lower tax rates.

Most of the year was actually somewhat even in profits except that last year in the fourth quarter the company lost $1.2 million and this year's fourth quarter profits were $8.0 million. Total revenue in quarter four was $194.9 million, up from $166.2 million in quarter four of 2015 ...

U.S. subscriber numbers at year-end were 1,033,000, up from 940,000. However, the Network division overall decreased in profitability for the year from $48.4 million to $36.9 million, due to increases in costs of the Network programming and a major decline in PPV.

Virtually all significant profit growth comes from television rights fees. Profits were up on television from $88.0 million in 2015 to $114.8 million in 2016, even though revenue increased by $10.6 million. Some of that is misleading, in the sense that they expense some things to the Network that were formerly expensed to television ...

If there was a hidden negative, it's that live event attendance, while up overall due to running more shows, decreased in profitability as well as average attendance.

For the main brand shows, the average paid attendance in quarter four was 5,300, down from 6,300 in the same quarter last year. That doesn't factor in NXT events. The total profits for all fourth quarter shows, including NXT events, fell from $7.3 million to $6.2 million in the fourth quarter.

The umbrella reacts how you'd expect a fully open umbrella to act in an environment with very little wind. At least a good quality one.
