The new Margo Price album is streaming on NPR and I gotta say, I dislike modern country music..so much...especially "bro-rap country" like that kermit the frog sounding motherfucker Luke Bryan. Margo is TRADITIONAL country (which i love because it takes me back in time to the 80s and 90s in my house). The duet with Willie Nelson made me tear up..at work..like a legit boss haha.
Her first album was an A...this one is also an A...maybe A+ after a few more listens. Also steaming is William Patrick Corgan - Ogilala. Billy...its fucking billy..stop being a douche. The album is also great. It is sparse, mellow, acoustic-piano stuff with some orchestral help. Surprisingly good. Solid B |
Sleep - Dopesmoker 7/10
Omnia - Naked Harp 8.3/10 Henry Cow - Unrest 7.5/10 Shubha Mudgal - India Mystica 7/10 |
So I moved to France and its like the late 90s / early 2000s has just hit here.
Listening to Indochine who are an angst / emo band. They were around in the 80s and changed their image in the late 2000s to go all emo, basing themselves off brit emo band Placebo. Their latest album, 13 is pretty decent. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5. Also listening to a band called BB Brunes who remind me of the mid 2000s British indie scene. Their latest album is called Puzzle. I really like this one. 4 out of 5 |

Vag, my love, do you wear square glasses and suspenders? (suspenders are hispter, right?) |
All Pigs Must Die have band members from Converge and Trap Them, which is the only reason why I found out about them.
I came across The Age of Truth through the "Stoned Meadow of Doom" youtube channel, which posts stoner/doom/sludge/psychedelic albums. No idea how I came across Townes Van Zant, or Varttina for that matter. I'm too cool to be a hipster. |
