I wouldn't. They're in a cinema, not at the theatre.
|
I wouldn't too. But that's how some people react.
Remember when I went to the premiere of Star Wars Episode III (was never a huge fan, but got free tickets) and there were a bunch of nerds sitting in the back that started cheering and clapping once they put Anakin in the Vader suit. |
People cheer at movies all the time.
|
I dunno, it just seems odd.

Spidey Trailer HD:

Hmmmm......
On the one hand, I like the cast, I like the old-school web-shooters, I like that they're using Gwen instead of Mary Jane and that it looks like they're incorporating bits of nerdy-science-geek Gwen from Spectacular Spider-Man, and the first-person wall-crawling sequence put a big stupid grin on my face. On the other hand.......I'm really not digging the 'dark and angsty' atmosphere they're going for. Peter's got that Edward Cullen vacant stare, and the only lines he says sound really whiny. It's like they're trying to cross the Nolan Batman movies with Twilight, and neither of those are really appropriate for Spider-Man, who's supposed to be a smartass and a goofball who fights villains the Avengers would just laugh at. I'm sure it's going to be a good movie. I just don't think it's going to be the movie I want, and that's really going to annoy me. |
Peter Parker's hair is too poofy and tall. :shifty:
Is this the first time Peter's parents have ever been seen in anything? Are they supposed to alive and off on a secret mission in this new movie? Who is the bad guy in the new movie anyways? |
Never mind. Quick search turns up that the villain is The Lizard and that Peter's parents have been established in the comics as being spies for the CIA or something.
|
who is supposed to be the villain in this?
|
It always bugged me that the Parkers were CIA operatives (or were they SHIELD? I don't remember). That just seemed to be an unnecessary addition to the franchise. The only thing we really needed to know about them is that they're dead and that's why he's being raised by his aunt and uncle. Having it turn out that his mom and dad were actually super-spies kind of spoils the whole 'just an average kid who accidentally stumbled into some superpowers' angle.

Peter Parker: Spy-Kid

ugh
first person view Hope that's exclusive to the trailer. |
wow wow wow..
what is this crap about the Parker family being spies? when the hell did this happen? |
Captain America is getting pretty good reviews. Not great though, and not as good as Thor and X-Men first class.

Its how they explain why Peter's folks aren't alive anymore. Easy backstory to write really.

And a collective "Meh" came forth from the masses. |
Really, with it being already confirmed as a mostly Japan story, Silver Samurai was kinda obvious.
|
Yeah, and not to mention he's the only other really cool wolvie villain besides Deathstrike, and they obviously can't go with her since Logan has already lost his memory.
Who else could they use? Romulus? lol, no thank you. |
|
to be fair they didnt actually confirm
SPOILER: show |
It feels like there are too many stories happening in the main book. I know they did that as to not force people to buy more tie-in series; but with so little time to devote to every story it doesn't feel like any of them progress naturally. It always feels rushed or like there isn't any progression.
Also SPOILER: show |
What Ina said.

Siege had the same problem, though it's 4 issue structure didn't help either.

Just cause he's dead doesn't mean he's dead. This is comics after all.

So, what, am I the only one who went and saw Captain America this weekend?
7/10 I really enjoyed it for the most part. Chris Evans surprised me in that I don't usually care for his work, but he was a pretty great Captain America. Hugo was awesome as Red Skull, although I kind of wish he had gotten more screen time. I would've liked to see a little bit more intense action - I mean, I was basically expecting a war movie with a superhero on the battlefield, and that's not what we go. Director Joe Johnston has some quirks that I don't really care for, but they're all small things and overall I think he did a good job. I guess there's not much to be expected out of an origin story since you already know what's going to happen for about 2/3rd's of the movie, and then the rest is predictable. You have to wait until the sequel to decide whether this character can really stand on legs or not. Looks like we'll be waiting awhile to find out since Cap's next feature will be as part of The Avengers. Anyway, good movie, I suggest seeing it. |
It was pretty good. I felt the musical part went on for perhaps..too long. I don't have much of a patience for musical segments so I suffered through it. The fair part was cool..specially for the cameo that I am sure some picked up.
Couldn't get over the fact that there was a multiracial unit during WWII. It bugged me throughout the whole movie. Pretty good tho. I think I give it a 7 as well. |
Captain America was way better than Thor. Thor was pretty alright, but Cap was very good.

<spoiler> The original Human Torch. I think it was discussed here?http://media.comicbookmovie.com/imag...s/8073/ht2.jpg</spoiler>
|
Oh wow, that's pretty awesome! So if they ever make a second Avengers movie, you think this is preparing for a Vision appearance?
|
I am thinking more Captain America 2 perhaps. I would love to see them expand stories from the WW2 period. Possibly introducing the Invaders?
|
There's one really small part where bucky snipes a guy and cap gives him a sort of disapproving look. I really hope that was foreshadowing some winter Soldier stuff in the future.
|
I would love for Winter Soldier to be a focal or secondary enemy in a future movie that takes place in the present (Cap 3?). All the talk points to Cap 2 being a WWII flash back.
OR, have Winter Soldier appear in some other Marvel movie. SHIELD? Maybe his own short film like they're planning. |
I'd like to see Cap 2 in the present. Adjusting to his new time, but with flashes to the past that inevitably intertwine with the story in the present.
|
OMFG you guys don't you just wanna blow a load over Caps shield let hulk rough fuck you from behind while Ironman is filming and Thor jerks off in the corner while Nick Fury slowly dies in the corner?
|
I missed you.
|
Is Thor jerking off in the same corner where Nick Fury is dying?
|
Why do you think he's jerking off in the first place?
|
Jon Kano said he was.
|
I would look for that Sam Jackson 'read the thread before you post' gif, but I can't be fucked.
|
I would look for some sort of image to suggest that my joke was either shit or went over your head, but I can't be fucked.
|
Oh see now I get it. Sadly, your 'joke' is ruined and no longer funny.
|
Sorry for ruining your day.

Part of me still can't believe this is a thing. |
What is that? Ghost Rider movie sequel?
|
Yes. Nic Cage returns. New director(s) and approach to the character. Apparently the first one wasn't hardcore enough.
|
Interested to see what they pull off with the new one. Huge Ghost Rider mark and the first one literally killed my interest with the character. Not getting my hopes up but something a little darker would gain my love.
|
Quote:
Modern era Ghost Rider has a different feel. Don't really want to say "darker", but it's not as bright and colorful as the 90's one. Doesn't really feel like a superhero book either. It's also a pretty good read. Some of the artwork is amazing too. |
That Ghost Rider poster looks like its from Robot Chicken or something.
|
Well in their defense it's more production pic than poster. I miss the spikes, though.
|
Yeah, finally saw Cap...and proceeded to get goose bumps and squirm like a excited 10 year old for the end credits scene

somethings just not quite rite with that pic
|
That's a pretty poor attempt at concealing his identity.
|
I like the costume.

SPOILER: show |
Ha ha wtf, that costume looks pretty lousy compared to the actual Cap movie one.
|
totally..what a fucking downgrade of a costume for Cap.
http://media.comicbookmovie.com/imag...306720_011.jpg ??????? http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/8..._gun_super.jpg |
Or any panel of a villain with a strange gun, eh? But it seems the threat is alien for sure.
I said this about Dark Knight; production photos. And sure Cap's suit is simply not as cool as his own movie, but bear in mind some details. None of the Avengers have entire budgets for their costumes anymore, I'd go as far as to expect every suit will not match the quality of their exclusive movies. It's a shared budget now. Thor's Ultimates-inspired costume even, looks cheaper to construct than his exclusive suit. I believe a great deal of money went into Hulk and Iron Man, with Thor and Cap kinda getting the shaft. But after post-production, perhaps things will look cooler. This is still a badass concept happening on screen for the first time. |
Marvel's movie studio made Captain America. Marvel's movie studio is making Avengers. Why the hell would the costumes used in CA not be available for Avengers?
I mean, I could see if it was a thing where Sony did one and Marvel did the other, but it seems like it would actually be a cost SAVING move to drag the original costumes out of the wardrobe instead of having to make new, even if the second one is cheaper. |
Regardless of who it is..Kree, Skrull, Shi'Ar, generic aliens invented for film..
just happy they are expanding into the galactic universe of marvel. Hope to eventually see Nova or Thanos around. |
I'm thinking Kree.
|
I'm thinking Kree-Skrull war.
Or at least just skrull. Skrulls are much more popular, and well known, especially with Secret Invasion still fresh in people's minds. Also, come on. Skrulls are way more cool than kree. |
Wow at the last scene..lmfao

VINTAGE "I'm not afraid of you"-"Well you should be" SCENE!

Seriously that trailer is badass.

Are you serious? |
Yes, I dug it. Had a dirty, cheap feel to it... but in a good way. Reminds me of some crazy late night 80s movie. Especially with Nic Cage in it.
|
If you say so :/
|
still confused on why people chose Nicholas Cage to be Ghost Rider
|
Looks good. I liked the first movie. Sure it wasn't perfect, but I didn't mind it. Not too keen on Cage either though, but whatever... Ghost Rider is far from my favourite Marvel character so I can tolerate it.

'The Shawshank Exception'

I want X-Men movies that are ripped from the comics. Not something that is dappered up to appeal to a wider market.
Please give me something similar to the vibe of the great animated series or X-Force. Make it for the fans of the comics please. Stay true. Keep it X-men. First Class was great but so much more to do. Sadly X3 was the most X-Men ish of the trilogy that was made. X3 not that great but it began to feel more like the X-Men universe. |
What you ask for simply would not work.
|
I just wanna see an X-Men movie with Apocalypse. Fed up with Magneto or some variation of the Brotherhood always being the villain. And the big A would look awesome on screen.
|
|
That just might work.

Looks better than the first one so far, which I didn't think was THAT bad.
|
I don't read Ghost Rider so it was whatever. I did think they could have went with a younger Johnny Blaze, but in the end it's a burning skull biker so yeah.
|
Shooting on Wolverine 2 may be pushed back to next spring, according to Deadline. The film was originally scheduled to start shooting on November 11 (see “’Wolverine’ Sequel Filming in Canada”) in Canada. Reasons for the potential rescheduling are somewhat murky, with the weather in Japan and a delay until star Hugh Jackman finishes Les Miserables both cited.
|
Are there plans for a Deadpool movie or has that been dropped? Things on the DP front have been quiet for a long time.
|
Ryan's busy with RIPD but he still has interest and Fox mentioned the project a few months ago. Taking longer than I want.
|
Same here. Seems like Wolverine came out fucking ages ago. Thought Ryan did a great job as Deadpool in that movie (considering he only had a few minutes of screen time). But a full-blown DP movie, with a decent costume, jokes and pop-culture references would be awesome.
