Blassie joining Vince on commentary. Thank God. Vince is so boring.
Match has been going for 3 minutes and they've done nothing.
Bleh. I hope Backlund faves someone decent on this card.

Rusher Kimura used to be pretty sweet

Yatsu with a hot Comeback but the Hangman won't sell anything
Yatsu drops a running elbow and wins. Thank God this is over.

Should see if you canwatch it just for how ridiculous it looks. |
Oh fuck Backlund is facing King Kong Mosca. This is a horrible card. Mosca is the shits.
Backlund was so far ahead of anybody in this company in terms of in ring work. Backlund was the man.
Quote:
Backlund wrote in his book that he hated wrestling Mosca and legit knocked him on his ass with a punch because Mosca was a dick.
Arnold Skaaland mangling Backlund. Skaaland was terrible. He added nothing to Bruno or Backlund.
Match hasn't been THAT bad so far.
but he did get in that sweet old man fight
Mosca that is
Backlund has a pretty sweet piledriver. Hopefully he drops that big goof Mosca on his head!

Nice arm work by Backlund in this match.
Loud " Bobby" chant from the MSG crowd as Backlund tries to make a comeback.
Backlund was under rated.
Backlund with a piledriver on Mosca! Only gets a two.

Ref bump! What a b.s finish. There's no way Mosca gets a return bout, although based on this finish I'm guessing he did.. Mosca wins by dq.
I met DeNucci at the pro wrestling hall of fame a few years ago. He was a good dude. Lots of neat stories.
Lol that ref bump was so bad.
That's about all I can add here haha

Alley Fight between Sgt Slaughter and Pat Patterson! I didn't check the card before the show. Fuck yes!
This match is legendary
The Grand Wizard of Wrestling managing Slaughter. He died of cancer in 83. Loved the Grand Wizard. I've seen this match a couple times. Legit 5 star match. Look it up on youtube.
Vince is shown ringside calling the match with a mic in his hand. How times have changed.
Lol Holy shit, Patterson hit Slaughter in the face with his belt.

Crowd is going apeshit. The WWF NEVER did matches like this, especially in MSG

Vince hardly did MSG shows after 1982. Gorilla and a combination of either Lord Alfred, Mene Gene or Patterson did colour with him.
When did Gorilla Monsoon start since I think I started to watch wrestling when it was him and a British guy whose name I'm forgetting were the main commentators for tv?
Quote:
That would be Lord Alfred Hayes. Gorilla started doing MSG and Spectrum shows in 1983. Vince and Bruno handled the T.V tapings for the most part until like 85 when Jesse joined and they became a trio.
I have about 100 MSG, Philly Spectrum and Boston Garden shows plus a scattering of Maple Leaf Garden, Kiel Auditorium and Baltimore/ Washington shows from 1979 to 1986 on my External Hard Drive. I have some pretty rare shit.
Slaughter and Patterson bleeding buckets
I don't think people realize how amazing Slaughter was until 1984. Best bumping big man in the business between 79-84
Patterson whack Slaughter over and over gain with his boot. Wizard throws in the towel! Slaughter looks like he's about to die from bloodloss. What a match!
They'll probably throw on some Midget match after this to calm the crowd down
I stand corrected. Captain Louis Albano, Moondog Rex and Stan Hansen vs Gorilla Monsoon, Tony Garea and Rick Martel! This should be very interesting.
Garea and Martel were a hell of a tag team. I have a couple Stan Hansen vs Bob Backlund title matches. Incredible fights.
Ken Patera retired Gorilla Monsoon in early 1980 at a Spectrum show. I only have clips of the match.
Albano is notorious for not taking any bumps. If someone punches him he'll just stagger around the ring. He's probably shit faced like me
Moondogs are the tag Champ. Moondog King isn't here so Captain Lou is taking his place. I'm guessing this is when Moondog King couldn't get into the country so they had to replace him as tag Champ with Moondog Spot.
I think you're right on Sgt. Slaughter, Gerty.
It's sad that I have this much useless if stored in my head yet I can't remember my girlfriend's birthday
Martel was so awesome. He and Garea lost the belts to the Moondogs before winning them back and losing them shortly after to Mr.Fuji and Mr.Saito in one of the best finishes to a tag title match I've seen.
Pretty solid match so far. Gorilla finally gets in the ring and beats the shit out of Rex. Can't wait till Hansen gets in there. Been mostly Garea/Martel and Moondog Rex.
Martel has a fucking amazing dropkick
Stan the fucking man tags in and starts kicking the shit out of everyone
I can see why Gorilla retired. Lol he's pretty bad at this point.
Alright Martel vs Hansen. The heels should gets some good hest here. Martel is a great seller/face in peril
The heels triple team Martel and the ref calls for the bell. Are you kidding me? That was a flat finish.
Oops, didn't hear that this was 2 out of three falls. Still though, very flat finish.
I hope Hansen takes Garea's fucking head off with a lariat.
Gorilla hits the big splash on Rex and that's it. Well it started off well, but was pretty under whelming.
Hansen tries to take on all three guys post match because he's Stan Hansen.
Fink announcing next month's card. The Champ always wrestled mid card because Fink or whomever was announcing would announce next month card towards the end of the show and they didn't want to spoil the World Title match.
So that b.s about Hogan getting preferential treatment was nonsense because they had been doing that forever
Haha and here come the midgets. Next month is Muraco's MSG debut vs Rick Martel and Dusty Rhodes faces Killer Khan. Tatsumi Fujinami faces Rick McGraw for the WWF Junior Heavyweight title. I don't have this card.....yet.
When you've seen one midget match you've seen them all. Fast forwarding.
Lol one of the black midget wrestlers is named Kid Chocolate. Haha fuck my life.
Well shit, they actually put a midget match on the last match of the card. Not a good show except for the Maivia vs McGraw match and the Patterson vs Slaughter match.
Gonna drink more. Probably the one and only time I do this. |
Lol, see I can make other posts besides calling people basement dwelling virgins. I just have to be drunk.

It not that I think it sucks or anything. It's just not what I'm interested in. Ive seen what Ive needed to see. It's pretty cool coming across something historic like Kerry Von Erich wrestling at Madison Square Garden or Salvatore Bellomo wrestling Moondog Spot in Kuwait in front of a bunch of Arab men with Arab commentary. I have a lot of cool WWWF/WWF stuff in my collection.

Courtesy of /wooo about RAW's overall viewership during 2016. Ended up losing roughly around 720k since the start of the year.
Managed to lose around a million by Clash of Champs for RAW's worst point in the year. http://i.imgur.com/8Wl8rlM.png |
This is normal and to be expected.

It would probably look similar to RAW but with a lot less big spikes and maybe a bit more flatter since they'd have a lot more mini-spikes throughout the year. Also unlike RAW, would actually be showing a really good net rise for the year compared to how bad it started. Observer had the breakdown in terms of numbers since the Brand Split era started for Smackdown. http://www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/sm...e-draft-227331 |
