Been revealed that episode 7 will be a "standalone" episode. Episodes 8-10 will be another 3-ep story arc, and then eps 11-12 will be a two-part finale.

We will see if I have the will power to wait so I can watch 8-10 all at once as a "movie". (Spoiler: The answer is no)

ron the dial 10-19-2022 09:46 PM

dedra was wicked this episode. another great week imo. more of the political stuff with mon please.

Lock Jaw 10-20-2022 12:22 AM

Maybe my fav episode yet....

SPOILER: show
Just showing the reactions of the heist and how planned it was.... "making things worse" so that they could stoke more discontent, while at the same time inspiring people that they could fight back.... kind of a really "devious" political plan that Palpatine himself would be proud of....

Mon Mothma sounds like she's got her own plans and things too apart from Luthen. I think Mon Mothma is gonna turn out to be working with some of the Star Wars Rebels characters like Hera and whoever it was that was the main military guy, leader of the fleet/cell... forget his name....

Then Luthen is gonna turn out to be working with Saw Gerrera and be the more willing to do whatever it takes kinda guy....

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-22-2022 11:59 AM

This show is excellent. In almost all ways, it's even better than Mando, but Mando has more IT factor.

The lack of ratings is disheartening because it'll discourage them from making good content. I hope they understand that waning interest likely has to do with oversaturating the market with shows that didn't need to exist (Kenobi, Fett).

Seanny One Ball 10-22-2022 12:12 PM

No way it’s better than the Mandalorian.

I’ll have to watch it now just to get mad at you for being wrong Dale.

Lock Jaw 10-22-2022 12:41 PM

I wouldn't say it is better than Mandolorian. Every episode of Mando seems to be quality and have a defined beginning and end every episode.... while due to its 3 episode arc nature, Andor can be a bit slow and have weird episode structure.... still laughing at that one week where it just randomly ended to the credits.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-22-2022 03:29 PM

Mando's structure is better but the acting, dialogue, and general plot of Andor is better.

And I'd agree that Mando is better in the sense that Steve Austin is way better than Chris Benoit.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-22-2022 03:32 PM

Again. It Factor. There's something special about Mando, but regarding actual thoughtful, adult-oriented content, Andor is miles ahead.

Lock Jaw 10-26-2022 10:43 PM

Great episode this week... all starting to converge and the prison scenes were brilliant....

I think he is getting out of there with the help of skinny neck space cereal guy..... that's the only way I see right now....

Seanny One Ball 10-27-2022 05:25 PM

I tried to start this but it wasn’t The Mandalorian so I just couldn’t get into it.

The Mandalorian and Obi Wan have ruined Star Wars for me by being good and giving me exactly what I wanted.

Selfish!

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-27-2022 06:17 PM

lol Obi Wan was mediocre.

Seanny One Ball 10-27-2022 06:18 PM

It gave me Darth Vs Obi and Luke on a hot tear of badassery.

Don’t be mad that these things happened.

Seanny One Ball 10-27-2022 06:21 PM

Dale try and explain yourself because this is an argument worth having.

Lock Jaw 10-27-2022 06:21 PM

Obi Wan was mediocre but made up for it with some "F yeah, Darth Vader!!" moments even if in the end the whole story was kind of just "why do you exist and what sense did that make?"

So I can understand liking it to the superior story of Andor just because of the "F yeah!" moments

Seanny One Ball 10-27-2022 06:22 PM

Exactly.

I’m not a fan of Star Wars but Obi Wan objectively kicks the cunt out of the three prequel films we were exposed to as kids.
That’s not up for debate.

Seanny One Ball 10-27-2022 06:25 PM

The Mandalorian is easily the best Star Wars product and it’s not even close.

I haven’t seen the last three or four films but why bother when the fan reaction is so extremely negative all of the time.

At least I got to see Vader in a proper duel. That was worth the hours and even without it the whole Luke bit would have made that show worth watching.

ron the dial 10-27-2022 09:44 PM

the score on andor is fantastic. the synths often sound as though they are decaying through the notes. this may be my favorite star wars series yet with the score being the real icing on the cake.

Seanny One Ball 10-28-2022 12:50 AM

God damnit Ron that’s the testimony Dale will use to hang me

ron the dial 10-28-2022 04:16 AM

i think the mandalorian may be better overall (we'll see after andor is done), and the vader scenes in obi wan you mentioned were also exactly what i needed. but something about the "rogue one" part of the universe and how they are handling it fascinates me.

Seanny One Ball 10-28-2022 06:43 AM

So I should see “Rogue One” then watch Andor.

Thanks for actually being helpful Ron.

Sepholio 10-28-2022 06:57 AM

Rogue One might be my favorite Star Wars movie honestly. Was surprisingly good.

Seanny One Ball 10-28-2022 07:32 AM

Right on.

See Dale is a gatekeeper.
He won’t help in my struggle.

Sepholio 10-28-2022 08:04 AM

I remember after first seeing it I immediately thought how much it sucked that it was just a one off because it was so much better than the mainline sequels/prequels at that point.

It was a slog. And I liked the Anakin half Vader mask scene a lot but it was so middling. Like—I don’t mind it for what it is and don’t begrudge someone liking it—just a lot of flaws. I got how obi wan was traumatized and lost his connection with the force but I didn’t really enjoy the execution. Watching obi wan fumble and flail is boring. There wasn’t much character development. Little Leia wasn’t necessary. That there was another obi wan versus Vader fight was kinda dumb and an unnecessary retcon that they didn’t quite justify. Most of the acting and dialogue seemed phoned in. And in general it seemed subject to a lot of rewrites.

I had a good time with it, and accepted that I’d have to enjoy some isolated moments. But Andor is just put together much better. Better acting, plot, overall story, and dialogue.

Fignuts 10-30-2022 12:32 AM

Mandalorian has a lot more cool, hype moments, but a lot of those moments rely on nostalgia from the OG trilogy and clone wars. Andor is so well written it doesn't even need it. So much subtley in the writing. Its really excellent.

Andor is better, imo. At least up to this point. Bad ending could ruin the whole thing. All that said, I wouldn't blame anyone for liking Mando more, because those nostalgia moments are still very cool and its got its own great writing besides that.

Fignuts 10-30-2022 12:36 AM

On another note Tales of the Jedi is really good. Outside of the first episode which is nothing. Really cool lore stuff, especially if you watched clone wars.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-30-2022 09:09 AM

First ep of tales of the Jedi is kinda just cool as Ahsoka lore, but the rest of the show is definitely much meatier.

And yeah, I basically agree with you on Andor, Figgy. I'd only say Mando is objectively "better" just because of how hype it is. It grabs more eyes and has more cache because the two mains (Mando and Grogu) have such unparalleled chemistry (even if Grogu is a puppet that doesn't say anything).

As far as what I think is technically better with dialogue, plot, and acting--it's Andor all the way and not all that close. But if you go into Andor wanting the standard by-the-numbers star wars story, you won't like it.

In spirit at least.

Lock Jaw 11-02-2022 10:21 PM

Another great episode of Andor. This story arc has been amazing.

That one dude sure loves his space cereal. I want to see him "get with" ISB braud.... think she would be "hot" letting her hair down and "getting wild" if you know what I mean.

Lock Jaw 11-02-2022 10:42 PM

Also, friend pointed this out to me last week:

SPOILER: show
One of the dudes at Cassian's table (Melshi) is in Rogue One and in the battle on Scarif. So we know someone else gets out alive too.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-04-2022 07:08 AM

I wonder if Andor realizes that his jail-boss is Snoke.

Seanny One Ball 11-04-2022 01:25 PM

Andor is a weird name give that there’s a place called Endor.

Like if on Earth there was a kid called “Faturn” instead of “Saturn”.

Haha…Faturn…

SPOILER: show
i didn't expect a romance angle coming from either of them, but that's certainly where their interaction this week made it seem like they're headed. the actors had a very strange and beautiful chemistry in that scene, and i was into it.

definitely excited to see this meeting between mon mothma and that one mob boss sounding dude. and of course the prison shit is excellent.

also poor fucking bix :( that torture method sounds wild as hell.
