Your pic is not showing up.

The Destroyer 06-14-2011 03:27 PM

I've seen it elsewhere, basically looks like his Ultimate Marvel outfit.

Funky Fly 06-14-2011 03:38 PM

Nice.

BigDaddyCool 06-14-2011 03:53 PM

Hawkeye and that lady look out of place next to Hulk, Ironman, and Thor (and a lesser extent Captain America)

Lock Jaw 06-14-2011 04:38 PM

Really wishing they could have got Hank Pym into the movie somehow.

BigDaddyCool 06-14-2011 06:10 PM

Lock Jaw, do you have Hank Pym's home phone number? Do you see him down at the bar? Is he on your volleyball team? Maybe he is a next door neighbor? Oh he isn't? Hmmmm, then fucking call him Wasp because you don't know him personally and I have no fucking clue who you are talking about.

You sound like an ass when you call super heroes by their real names unless you are discussing their secret identity or if you are referring to someone like Robin or Green Lantern when there have been a few. You wouldn't say did you see that Bruce Wayne movie, it mentioned Clark Kent fly around Metropolis, would you? You are probably the kind of ass that would.

Did you nut yourself during X-Men first class because
Logan made a cameo? No you nutted your yourself because Wolverine made the cameo. (blacked out for spoiler)

Nowhere Man 06-14-2011 06:22 PM

It's easier to call Hank Pym by his real name because he's had like five or six different superhero names.

Is his superhero name Wasp?

Currently, but there have been other Wasps before him (particularly his wife). And before that he was Ant Man (another one with multiple people using that name), Giant Man, Goliath, and Yellowjacket. So when you've got names that multiple people have used and the same one guy keeps changing his call sign every other week, it's a lot less hassle to just call him by his real name.

Inadequacy 06-14-2011 06:34 PM

And it's not a very big deal regardless.

Lock Jaw 06-14-2011 06:44 PM

Yeah, he has so many names so I just used his real one. Haven't read Marvel in a long time so not sure if he was even still called Wasp.

Would have said Ant-Man, but again there have been several, so I went with just "Hank Pym".

BigDaddyCool 06-14-2011 07:05 PM

i stand by my outrage.

Fignuts 06-15-2011 01:13 AM

K5 spazz out by BDC.

Who needs Jon Kano?

McLegend 06-15-2011 01:30 AM

That's a great spazz out.

Shadow 06-15-2011 02:20 AM

Uh....Pym hasn't been the Wasp for a bit. I don't know who he is now but he's not Wasp.

As others pointed out, the guy has had even more superhero names than your mom had STDs.

And saying "Wasp should be in the movie" only makes it confusing.

Sixx 06-15-2011 02:49 AM

By the way, he is the Giant-Man now, according to wiki.

Plus he is one of those heroes whose identity is not a secret. A lot of avengers don't have secret identities.

The Nova one also looks pretty badass, but I've never really cared for the character.

I didn't either til I read annihilation.

The Destroyer 06-27-2011 03:00 AM

Great article on Marvel Studio's state of the union.

Just makes me cranky that Spidey and the X-Men didn't revert back to Marvel after their third movies. Then again, I liked Kevin's ray of hope at the end on that matter.

Kalyx triaD 06-30-2011 11:26 AM

Wolverine 2 may start filming in Oct.

Kalyx triaD 07-01-2011 09:40 AM

Marvel Studios will be producing short films on their lesser characters. The first two are done, and will appear on the eventual DVDs of Thor and Captain America respectively. One is based on Agent Coulson.

This is a very good idea, as I assume this takes place in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe; Earth 199999), then C-listers could debut in these films.

Rammsteinmad 07-01-2011 09:44 AM

This sounds cool. Any idea about the second one?

Kalyx triaD 07-01-2011 10:03 AM

Nothing official but if they're pulling from their current cast now, and Agent Coulson is one short film, perhaps the one will have the Warriors Three on Earth? Hawkeye's a possibility too. I'm thinking characters who are cool, but not 'risk millions on a feature film' cool. Black Widow (maybe David Hayter gets his wish), War Machine, Bucky/Winter Soldier, even an action-comedy She-Hulk short.

Possibilities are larger than we think, and that's with existing properties. They could drop someone new (Luke Cage).

LuigiD 07-01-2011 10:07 AM

love the short film idea. great way to test the market. perhaps open doors for some of those characters.

Rammsteinmad 07-01-2011 10:49 AM

I originally thought Hawkeye would be a great one, but if it's appearing on the Captain America DVD, I would have thought it'd make more sense to be someone from Cap's 'world' (unless Hawkeye has a cameo in this somehow).

Maybe Nick Fury? Dum Dum Dugan? Sub Mariner?

Kalyx triaD 07-01-2011 11:15 AM

I think Nick Fury's getting his own full movie.

Schlomey 07-01-2011 01:21 PM

Netflix just sent me X Men Origins: Wolverine...praying it doesn't suck as bad as I hear it is.

Fignuts 07-01-2011 01:47 PM

I'd bet money on Hawkeye for the second one. Widow already got some time to shine in IM2, while hawkeye was in action for about a minute in Thor. To anyone who didn't know that character was hawkeye, he was probably an afterthought.

parkmania 07-02-2011 04:32 PM

Marvel Studios will release Thor 2 on July 26, 2013, according to Deadline. Like the original, the sequel will star Chris Hemsworth in the title role; unlike the original, Kenneth Branagh won’t direct, although he will reportedly have a producer role.

The movie has performed solidly, with a worldwide gross of around $437 million.

parkmania 07-05-2011 01:45 PM

Marvel Studios has tapped Don Payne, who was one of three credited writers on the first Thor film, to write the screenplay for Thor 2, which is slated for release on July 26th, 2013. Payne, who is a co-executive producer on TV’s The Simpsons, has a number of superhero screenwriting credits. He wrote the comedy My Super Ex-Girlfriend and also contributed a rewrite on the as-yet-to-be-made Lobo based on the DC comic book series (Guy Ritchie was set to direct the Lobo movie, but chose to helm the Sherlock Holmes sequel instead).

Rammsteinmad 07-05-2011 04:10 PM

Oh a Lobo movie! I'm sure that'll put butts in seats! (In 2032).

Kalyx triaD 07-09-2011 10:29 PM

Was that a DC thing?

Lock Jaw 07-09-2011 11:26 PM

Well, DC's new redesigns seem to have a lot of speed lines. They just aren't glowing.

parkmania 07-11-2011 05:19 PM

Reminds me of a basketball.

Rammsteinmad 07-14-2011 03:35 PM

I'm sure it's just for the cameras/lighting etc... but what with all the black shading inbetween the black lines. Thought Spidey's costume was meant to be red and blue.

However, X-Men: First Class has taught me not to discriminate a film for it's Twilight-Generation Reboot Crappy Photos until I've actually seen it.

Blitz 07-14-2011 03:36 PM

Oh shit, I kinda love how you can actually see his eyes. Hope that will be how it is in the actual flick.

Kalyx triaD 07-14-2011 03:58 PM

Some guys are thin.

Blitz 07-14-2011 04:17 PM

Spidey oughta be slim and wiry. Built for speed.

Reavant 07-14-2011 06:45 PM

i dunno hes been looking jacked in comics lately

Kalyx triaD 07-14-2011 07:12 PM

Spidey's been known to be more lean than the common superhero look.

Web shooters, ugh.

Rammsteinmad 07-14-2011 08:17 PM

It's interesting that they're saying comic fans will 'appreciate' the old-school web-shooters, whilst at the same time completely changing the costume.

What's with the crazy gloves and the red stripe down his legs?

On a positive note, at least the web shooters appear to be 'sticking out' of his wrists. Always bothered me in the comics/cartoons etc that his web-shooter would never stick out or bulge out when he was in costume.

Lara Emily 07-14-2011 08:24 PM

I actually dig both the shooters and the costume.

Rammsteinmad 07-16-2011 06:52 AM

Also, cool poster. :y:

mitch_h 07-16-2011 11:08 PM

Captain America actually looks alright, i'm just worried about Joe Johnston directing, guy is a huge hack, like Ratner level of hackiness. I guess October Sky was pretty good, so maybe this will be his October Sky of action movies.
