Fucking longest trailer in the history of gaming, and I still have no idea what the fuck this game is.

Mitsurugi looks mad young.

Seems like it. People think it's essentially a Soul Edge remake.

GTFO looked good too, like an Aliens Left 4 Dead. Not a big fan of the name though.

I really fancy playing some Payday 2 or Left 4 Dead 2 tonight now.

Fignuts 12-08-2017 08:20 AM

Looks cool.

From Software had a teaser too, hoping we get a full reveal at PSX but the current rumour is a Tenchu game.

Could be a new Armored Core game since a 20th anniversary theme got released on the Japanese PlayStation Store earlier this week.

But I'm cool with Tenchu too.

Have you seen the teaser? It's a dude readying some kind of rope weapon in old Japan.

Fignuts 12-08-2017 05:05 PM

It could still be armored core. I'm pretty sure they had mechs in fuedal japan. They were just made of wood and leaves.

Fignuts 12-08-2017 05:06 PM

Just a mech made entirely of katanas

... Why the hell haven't I played this?!

Fignuts 12-08-2017 07:14 PM

Cuphead rules. Finally beat the ghost train after like 20 tries.

Need to beat that queen bee cunt now

Fignuts 12-08-2017 07:54 PM

I guess SC6 takes place between Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. Good. Screw that Natsu bitch. Taki 4 lyfe.

Also, hoping this is the game where Ivy gets all her stances back and plays like her SC 2 version. One of my favorite styles in a fighting game but she hasn't been as fun the last few times.

Kalyx triaD 12-08-2017 08:07 PM

SoulCalibur is my fave fighting game series. I will be watching intently. So far the reboot/interquel setting is good. The new gameplay details seem vaguely worded with the buzzwords and such.

...Huh. That would be bizarre, but also, very FROM pre-Souls to do a sequel out of left field like that.

Fignuts 12-09-2017 08:44 AM

I would be super down for that.

ClockShot 12-09-2017 06:06 PM

Played the Monster Hunter: World beta.

Wish there was some more............depth.

3 monsters to hunt down at easy, medium, and hard difficulties. All weapons opened up, some armor pieces to choose from.

Basically, find monster tracks, kill monster, reset.

Will mess around with it some more try most of the weapons and see what I'm comfortable with. Learn the controls, too. Used the Insect Glaive the first go-around and it was smooth.

Kalyx triaD 12-09-2017 07:25 PM

So you hunt monsters in Monster Hunter?

Kalyx triaD 12-10-2017 06:19 PM

Everyone who bought Street Fighter 2 for the switch probably not too happy right now.

Kalyx triaD 12-10-2017 07:55 PM

It doesn't include Ultra SF2. They probably didn't include it for exactly that reason.

Fignuts 12-10-2017 08:10 PM

Well no, but it includes every other version of SF 2, Alpha, and SF 3.

If I knew this was coming out, I can't say I would have bothered with Ultra.

AND STREET FIGHTER ONE

Kalyx triaD 12-11-2017 07:06 AM

It's also missing HD Remix, Alpha 2 Gold, and Alpha 3 Double Upper.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-11-2017 07:09 AM

I don't know why most collections ignore both of those Alpha versions. Are they seen as unbalanced competitively or something?

Kalyx triaD 12-11-2017 07:19 AM

Alpha 2 Gold is actually thought to be the prime of the alpha series, as is Super Turbo in 2 and 3rd Strike in III. So it's exclusion is baffling. I would have it replace Alpha 2 altogether.

Alpha 3 Double Upper is a bit of a hard case. It's only releases were a handheld and DC at the turn of new consoles so it's not clear how good or broken it is as it didn't really have a big scene.

Also some are speculating that they focused on everything that had an arcade release, which is why we have Hyper Fighting rather than SF 2 Turbo.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-11-2017 07:29 AM

Zero 2 Alpha was released in the arcade, at least in Japan, which just makes it weirder.

Ruien 12-11-2017 08:27 AM

Is each Street Fighter 2 game completely different or something? Feels weird people keep buying the same game.

They are changed, but they would be DLC these days instead of whole new games. Stuff like Hyper Fighting being faster (selectable by the arcade owner) and allowing air hurricane kicks, whereas Super added 4 new characters and Super Turbo added the concept of a mater for some moves.

Kalyx triaD 12-11-2017 08:56 AM

Plus there's the simple historical and collector motivation for this package over competitive gameplay. 3rd Strike is the only SF3 worth taking seriously but it's nice to have the other two.

And what's notable is SF1 seeing a re-release and Alpha 3 having online play for the first time (outside of unofficial networks like GGPO).

#BROKEN Hasney 12-11-2017 11:01 AM

Alpha 2 not having online is a bit of a personal bummer, but I can see why they want to limit the number of games.

Shame there's not that SF2 Anniversary version where you could pick the different versions of characters, but with so much there, it's kind of nitpicking.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-11-2017 11:02 AM

If Disney buy Fox, they should be able to use XMen again and do a COTA/Marvel SH and Vs. 2D collection.

Emperor Smeat 12-11-2017 05:41 PM

According to reports, Star Wars Battlefront II sold well under 1 million copies last month and got outsold roughly 5-to-1 by Call of Duty WW2.

EA was expecting around 1.7 million sales last month even with the recent controversies and sold around 880k copies instead.

For some comparisons, launch week was 60% lower than the previous game in terms of physical sales.

They can technically do that now. It's Marvel who didn't allow X-Men in MvCi. It's a licensed Marvel game not a Marvel Studios game, but Marvel opted to make it MCU focused.

Fignuts 12-13-2017 07:47 PM

Fucking awesome. I figured Beerus was a lock, but I suspected Goku Black and Hit would be DLC if they got in at all.

Good choices though, as they all have a unique style on the show.

In Dragonball Fighter Z meeting certain conditions can give you a special cinematic mirroring the show. For example, beating Yamcha with Nappa's Saiba man attack gives you Yamchas death scene from the show.
