Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 03:43 PM

She’s also doing a Nikki Bella and taking swipes at how women are used in the company.

CM Punk’s fault.

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 03:45 PM

Ricky Starks has been off AEW television because of something non-injury related. It’s called terrible booking.

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 03:48 PM

One of Jeff Jarrett’s duties in AEW includes managing house shows. AEW doesn’t currently produce any house shows. Whew, at least that job‘s done.

Does she mean they can have a five star match if their time wasn’t so short, or if they got more time to, like, train in a hyperbolic chamber or something?

The latter was my immediate take. "AEW's women can have a five star match, they just need 10 years to get to grips with the basics".

Sepholio 11-04-2022 06:20 PM

10 years isn't enough time for the Marina Shafirs of the world.

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 06:57 PM

It’ll have to happen in Impact, because it’ll be the only company still around in post-apocalyptic times.

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 06:58 PM

Reby Hardy has said “Fuck CM Punk.” So I think we can all break bread now we all know that Punk was in the right, at least in this situation.

#1-norm-fan 11-04-2022 09:42 PM

Please. The constant L’s and Nyla Rose daring to call herself a woman have exacerbated our terminal angel’s shamblin’ boilin’ tatters enough. We don’t need to add a “Punk was right” on top of this. There won’t be enough rofls in the world to hide the pain. Delete your post.

Why didn't AEW advertise Mike Tyson for Rampage?

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 10:12 PM

LolAEW

I wonder if he falls asleep calling it?

slik 11-04-2022 10:19 PM

This is a TNA level of incompetence

The Double J era begins

slik 11-04-2022 10:27 PM

Mike is clearly having the time of his life at Rampage

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 11:26 PM

Jeff Jarrett is insane if he’s going there to try and change things. He’s got the silver tongue, but he should just be going for the gold…that he can later resell.

Mr. Nerfect 11-04-2022 11:26 PM

I’m pretty sure Tyson is a Jericho vanity project though.

I swear they advertised it on dynamite last week (didn't watch this week's yet)

slik 11-05-2022 12:12 AM

someone on twitter said Excalibur said it while he was speed-reading the card but I honestly didn't catch it

Mr. Nerfect 11-05-2022 12:41 AM

Some AEW clip started playing before and Excalibur’s voice came on and he’s fucking horrible. I imagine a large portion of the audience tunes him out.

Mr. Nerfect 11-05-2022 12:42 AM

WWE should respond by putting Tyson Kidd on Level Up commentary this week.

screech 11-06-2022 10:25 AM

Just watched Dynamite and they promoted Tyson appearing twice. About to start rampage rn

screech 11-06-2022 10:26 AM

Also, unpopular opinion: Kenny and the Bucks don't do anything for me and I don't miss them

Fignuts 11-06-2022 11:10 AM

I don't think its that unpopular.

LibSuperstar 11-06-2022 12:16 PM

I follow quite a few folks on Twitter who aren't too keen on Omega and the Bucks.

Evil Vito 11-06-2022 01:21 PM

Yeah I wouldn’t say it’s unpopular on here. Probably about 80% of posters here liked them 5 years ago. Now I’d say it’s probably like, a third of the posters we have left if that. With the Bucks probably still being considerably more disliked than Kenny.

I’m still a fan of them, Kenny especially. But I don’t need to see them every week, either.

Fignuts 11-06-2022 02:18 PM

Kenny hasn't shown me anything nearly as good as his work in japan besides the danielson match.

Likewise, the only time I've ever cared for the young bucks was the breif period they wrestled in the heavyweight tag division of njpw and actually slowed the fuck down enough to work a little bit instead of their usual spotfests.

Mr. Nerfect 11-06-2022 02:27 PM

They’ve always sucked. The Bucks were comedy when they tried to wrestle seriously in Japan. Omega was a product of the company. His faces have always been annoying and his matches overwrought.

The Fraze 11-06-2022 05:38 PM

Love Kenny, have always disliked The Bucks. Their theme is great, though.

Damian Rey 2.0 11-06-2022 08:59 PM

I like Omega and enjoyed his heel run with Callis.

The Bucks are whatever.

XL 11-07-2022 04:56 PM

Can take ‘em or leave ‘em.

xrodmuc316 11-07-2022 05:52 PM

Remember that video game they spent $50 million on? Well apparently it is getting released as a free to play game on XBox Gamepass. AEW keeps RAKING in the money :rofl::rofl:

Mr. Nerfect 11-08-2022 06:49 AM

That’s obviously because the game is so good that Microsoft just wants everybody to be able to play it.

This isn't the diss you think it is.

Destor 11-08-2022 08:31 AM

Gamepass comes with a huge check from Microsoft.

drave 11-08-2022 08:36 AM

A big green one, for $14.99/month.

Take that Twitter!

I really don't like AEW anymore. We're at the point where WWE was at a few years ago, the booking has no through line to the end. Stories don't matter, most things don't matter. It's very unstable creatively and I don't have the patience to sit through them trying to figure it out.

There are a hundred threads you can go on the describe why AEW sucks now, Cody leaving, too many hires, The Elite/Punk issues, the Elite issues in general, no follow through on big hires such as Miro, Allister, Andrade and that's just three from over a year ago now. You can site the failure of Hangman in becoming a top guy for CM Punk to get a failure of a title run, the use of terrible female talent, Vince Russo style booking with no substance.

Just really unbelievable what it's all gone down to. We're at Jeff Jarrett now.

Now understand, I do really like Jeff, he's a great talent and he's such a great guy, I love him on his podcast. It's a real eye opener on the business and his impact on it. But, AEW should have been better than this. There should have been a standard.

Perhaps if Jeff was someone they were working with a few years ago it would be different. But he's just been fired from WWE, released, whatever. He's just another WWE cast off slurped up by Tony's fandom.

I am kind of torn. Jarrett was awesome in the main event with Flair this summer. He can probably do some really good stuff still in the ring, his style is one of a kind at this point so he's going to really mesh well with about anyone in AEW. But it's just like a standard that I am having trouble accepting.

If Jeff is able to fill a void that perhaps Cody left, then sure I really do get this hire. He's got the most history of anyone in the business, in the business.

Really though to be honest, I'm just over AEW right now. Wednesday I may check it out at some point but I think that Sammy Guevara is wrestling Danielson and that sounds terrible to me.

Ethan Page vs Kingston could be good and could elevate Ethan Page but I have a feeling that this journey for Page isn't going to go the way Tony wants it to.

Ethan is getting a rub because he's MJF's buddy in real life. Page and MJF are actually almost the same person/character. There is very little that is different between them as performers, except that MJF is probably just a bit better, maybe not in the ring but as a character 100%.

I think MJF probably made sure that Ethan got a rub and a push as apart of his negotiations with Tony. It does seem that they are turning MJF face, and elevating Ethan to a top heel position. I just wonder if Ethan would be able to be WORSE a heel than MJF. It could be an interesting story if they can really get Ethan to a level where fans see him as an event bigger piece of shit than MJF ever was as a heel.

drave 11-08-2022 08:46 AM

Honestly, I'd love for the WWE games to do this, or have a god damn playable demo.

Last WWE Game I bought was the one with the Ric Flair collectibles, and I shelled out for the collectors edition. Never finished "showcase mode" (main "story mode") because it was fucking terrible. Can't recall if that's the one where you're CAW was called "buzz" because there was a "buzz about a new up and coming superstar". Terrible.

I've heard great things about WWE2K22 - but I will not spend more than $10 to buy it. If they released on Gamepass, it'd be wildly more successful because there's a massive cheaper barrier for entry AND you get "hands-on" experience.

Jordan 11-08-2022 08:48 AM

AEW on Gamepass is fantastic news for me. I likely would have never played it otherwise.

They've always needed a "Jarrett" or someone with knowledge in the business. Jarrett CAN potentially make things better, but it will come down to how much TK will value and allow for input//control.

This "era", if you will, I believe will make or break AEW further than it already has.

Jordan 11-08-2022 08:50 AM

I have little faith from what we know of Tony that he will let anyone really have a voice on the product. I don't mean that the wrestlers don't get their own voice I just mean, another "Creative".

Jordan 11-08-2022 08:51 AM

Again not to say that I don't think guys like Jericho, Danielson, Mox, The Elite etc... don't get to do what they want I'm just talking about another person to have the power of yay or nay on things.

Exactly this, now multiply it.

Honestly, I'm not a fiercely loyal interneckbeard who hates a company over whatever has transpired with AEW. Their game looks FUN and if it calls back to a similar play style of the N64 days, they will be successful. Gamers have more hand-holding than EVER with games, and a "simplifying" of the system will be a warm welcome for those who have only had WWE games to play for the last..... forever. PC gamers get FirePro, which Fignuts is the uWu Champion of, true story, but it doesn't carry the "mainstream" appeal a console wrestling game will have (insofar as wrestling can be mainstream).
