I see I will have to dispose of scoundrels whom would seek to steal my Imogen from me. You will all be dealt with swiftly and decisively.

I called dibs back in 2011 when I saw that Fright Night film. I still like it.

That's just tough shit. I'm 61 days older than you and my English isn't Scottish hooligan nonsense (no offense). ;)

Black Widow 03-31-2020 11:23 AM

Jexi

Pretty entertaining i thought.

Charlie Angel's 2020

Could have been better but still enjoyable.

slik 03-31-2020 11:56 AM

I thought Jexi was entertaining as well

I have no idea what this means

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-31-2020 01:45 PM

He is saying that neither of you are worthy of Imogen's love, only myself.

Lock Jaw 03-31-2020 01:48 PM

I will chime in by saying.... lol "poots"

Seanny One Ball 03-31-2020 03:57 PM

Fill yer Poots

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)-8/10

A re watch, obviously. Watched it with my 4 year old daughter, who loved it. Film is criminally underrated and would be a huge hit nowadays. There's little nuances I didn't catch as a mid, like Michelangelo avoiding the idea of Splinter ever being gone. Also, Shredder has one of the best final boss builds in movie history. Fuck me, it's been 30 years and I still love this movie.

Was it the first one where they were eating Domino's?

I felt so great when I saw them with a Domino's Pizza box, cause I was addicted to that shit as a kid.

Damian Rey 2.0 04-02-2020 05:08 AM

Yes.

Damian Rey 2.0 04-02-2020 05:11 AM

Blood Father-7/10

Fast paced, frenetic chase movie about Mel Gibson, an ex con who's sobered up, only to find himself back on the run after gods estranged daughter reaches out to him for help from the Mexican drug cartel. A fun hour and a half of Mel Gibson playing a grumpy, sarcastic old biker.

That scene in TMNT2 where the Yorker's are eating that very cheesy pizza from where Keno works haunts my dreams (morning wood).

I'd take a big mouth full of that over a traditional Chi Town pie any day.

Sonic The Hedgehog - 7/10

Was much better than I thought, harmless fun

Traditional chi town pie? There's no such thing. It's called deep dish fuck face.

Frank Drebin 04-03-2020 06:17 AM

Imagined Triple A's old Italian colleague saying that

El Vaquero de Infierno 04-03-2020 09:11 AM

The Current War 6/10

My attention began to wander by the third act.

Black Widow 04-03-2020 02:25 PM

Blank Check.

Still a fun movie to watch.

Lock Jaw 04-03-2020 02:29 PM

I remember as a youth getting to somehow see a "sneak peek" screening of Blank Check before it came out in theaters.....

Seanny One Ball 04-03-2020 05:04 PM

I vividly remember the trailer for it. I never did get to see that film but it always looked like a great flick to me as a kid.

Lock Jaw 04-03-2020 05:07 PM

I remember feeling very special and hyped up to somehow be in that special screening..... and then I also remember thinking the movie was just "eh, I was entertained I guess"

Dirty Harry-8/10

A classic. Clint Eastwood as a bad ass cop who locks wits with a local domestic terrorist sniping people from buildings.

Minority Report-8/10
Pretty interesting premise. Read that the ending wasn't well received. I kinda get it. But it's a fun movie with a neat twist about halfway during the movie.

GD 04-04-2020 01:27 AM

The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 - 9/10

GD 04-05-2020 09:12 PM

Vanilla Sky - 6/10

Black Widow 04-06-2020 11:23 AM

Pineapple Express.

Hilarious and not really any complaints besides lying bitch being in it.

Seanny One Ball 04-06-2020 11:33 AM

We even like the same movies

A timeless classic

El Vaquero de Infierno 04-10-2020 05:44 PM

Angel Has Fallen 7/10

Seanny One Ball 04-10-2020 10:31 PM

I have to write a short "Fighting With My Family" review tomorrow.

Pleasantly surprised would be an understatement.

Black Widow 04-11-2020 04:26 PM

The Departed.

Was my 3 time seeing it and still enjoyed it as much as the other times.

Spider Man: Far From Home.

Didn't like it as much as other Marvel movies but still good.

50/50.

Wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.

Fighting With My Family - 3/4

A funny, heartwarming story about WWE's Paige and her oddball family. I particularly enjoyed Florence Pugh's performance and the attention paid to the emotional aspects and toll that wrestling takes on its performers.
I was excited to watch a film that kept the laugh ratio respectable and yet kept the emotional tempo high enough to swing back into drama expertly.
Great fun, would watch again quite happily.

I thought I might give it a proper review but I would have to re-watch and take notes and I can't be arsed.

Triple A 04-11-2020 11:21 PM

Richard Jewell (2019) - 9/10

Quote:

American security guard Richard Jewell saves thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is vilified by journalists and the press who falsely reported that he was a terrorist.
Freaking great... Makes the lying fake news media and FBI look like shit which is good...

Lead actor is freaking incredible...

Highly recommended...

Triple A 04-11-2020 11:35 PM

Other movies I watched recently...

The King of Comedy (1982) - 8/10 - Very good. Didn't think I would like this that much for some reason but it was great. Sandra Bernhard's acting sucks in this though... kept "taking me out of the movie."

Oldboy (2003) - 8/10 - Never watched this and finally did. It was good. Lots of cool parts... Feel like I would have liked it much more in 2003 though. "Fight Club-esque" in that way.

638 Ways to Kill Castro (2006) - 7/10 - Documentary about some of the insane and evil ways that the US tried to kill Fidel Castro. Interesting... "TV documentary" quality though tbh.

Snowpiercer (2013) - 6/10 - From Bong Joon Ho, the director of Parasite. Was fine but was like way too overt in its "class war" theme. No subtlety... Also was mostly just like an action movie. Cool concept though...

The Thing (1982) - 6/10 - Was fine... Seems like it doesn't really hold up. Felt bored... Expectations were too high I think.

Alps (2011) - 5/10 - Interesting concept... Love the director... Movie didn't really go anywhere...

Hail, Caesar! (2016) - 5/10 - Coen brothers movie... Not that great overall... Disappointing

I Love You, Daddy (2017) - 3/10 - That Louis CK movie that he made before he got "canceled." Not good... Not good at all... Felt kinda embarrassing... Not even any laughs at all...

Black Widow 04-12-2020 12:47 AM

Love & Other Drugs.

Pretty good romance comedy.

Lock Jaw 04-13-2020 01:49 AM

Around the World in 80 Days (2004) - 4/10

Just finished reading the book today (in Spanish), and decided to watch this movie on Disney+

It was...... ummm.... a "liberal" adaptation of the novel, inserting Jackie Chan and Kung-Fu into the mix. It was not too good.

road doggy dogg 04-13-2020 05:32 PM

Onward - 6/10

It's basically Frozen but with Chris Pratt and the kid from Spiderman. I enjoyed it (despite my score) but it doesn't feel like anything I hadn't seen before.

Black Widow 04-14-2020 08:34 AM

Holes.

Still one of my favorites from childhood.

El Vaquero de Infierno 04-14-2020 05:02 PM

Four Lions 6.5/10

It marries comedy and the subject of terrorism fairly well, but it didn't really keep my attention.
