2K Games and Gearbox recently signed a deal with Lionsgate to get a Borderlands film made. No other details besides who were currently signed to work on the project.

Quote:

The Borderlands movie is set to be produced by Avi and Ari Arad, who are best known for working on superhero comic movies like Iron Man.

USA cancels Complications after 1 season.

Poor Jason O'Mara. Guy's got talent, but he's a damn curse when it comes to television. Everything he's stars in gets axed after a season.

STILL looking forward to the Mr. Robot Season finale this Wednesday. I'm wondering if they're going to do a rushed recut/reshoot to any scenes, and if so if the original version will be available on DVD.

For those that don't know, the finale was delayed a week because there's a scene that was very reminiscent of the events in Virginia last Wednesday.

GD 08-31-2015 05:22 AM

So I have heard. I just completed watching the third from the last episode. What a total mindfuck.

GD 08-31-2015 06:11 AM

Just realized that the Iranian girl is the Indian girl from the "Turn Down From What" music video.

GD 08-31-2015 06:32 AM

So Tyrell speaks Swedish and his wife speaks Danish.

That's why I couldn't find it on On Demand. Thought I was going crazy.

So I guess that Asian guy at the end was the tranny hacker from a few episodes ago and I believe he somehow manipulated Elliot into to doing what he wanted?

GD 09-06-2015 01:23 AM

Jurassic World.

Wow, never even considered that. (Potentially) Good spotting.

Just Cause 3 getting the gaming-to-movie based treatment. Producer of the recent Hitman film was hired to be in charge of this project.

Quote:

Adrian Askarieh, who produced both Hitman films and is working on Johnny Quest and Kane & Lynch films, told IGN that he is also producing a Just Cause that will lean on the more story-focused, upcoming third entry in the series.

"Just Cause 3 has a terrific story. It has Rico going back to Medici, the place of his birth and then subsequent displacement, and the murder of his family. And he goes back there to do what he does best which is to discombobulate regimes," Askarieh said.

"That to me is a cool story and the whole concept of a guy who is sent in to discombobulate from within and to create chaos from within. And in terms of action, I think Just Cause has just as much right to be called an action movie as The Fast and Furious."

Video Games to movies have never worked.

Still scared of the Assassins' Creed movie.

Sixx 09-09-2015 06:53 PM

I kinda liked Doom.

Should've had Fassbender play Ezio.

Mindless fun flick.

Maybe a bit because of The Rock, but not only, since I found that Rock movie where he hangs around the jungle with Stiffler to be awful.

Jura 09-10-2015 03:41 PM

I remember re-watching Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing but they didn't seem as good as the first time but now I think maybe the Toonami atmosphere gave it a little more something. It brings me back to coming home from school and tuning into Cartoon Network and DBZ, Tenchi Muyo, Yu Yu Hakusho etc was on.

I was pretty indifferent to it. Absolutely dislike hacks who "worship" Stifler.

Lock Jaw 09-10-2015 09:06 PM

Coming home from school and watching cartoons was mad good times....

Kalyx triaD 09-10-2015 09:29 PM

Did people worship Stifler? He was a funny character but I don't think he commanded a huge fanbase.

Emperor Smeat 09-16-2015 09:34 PM

Film production on Pacific Rim 2 got delayed indefinitely. May or may not end up being dropped as a project and it is likely due to an on-going feud between Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros studios.

Quote:

Legendary wanted to produce a sequel to del Toro's Pacific Rim, which was made under the Warners deal and turned into one of those films that grosses a lot ($411 million worldwide) while being so costly that a follow-up isn't a sure thing. Sources say Legendary liked that the original performed exceptionally well in China, where the company is heavily invested, but for now the project — which had been ramping up to make a release date in August 2017 — has been halted indefinitely and will be pushed back (if it gets made at all).
Legendary tried to offer the King Kong franchise deal they got from Universal as a peace offering but Warner Bros slowly moving away from them in favor of a new studio.

Did somebody insult the great Stiffmeister in here?

IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG BITCH!

Mercenary 09-17-2015 02:24 AM

Stiffler is a god among men everywhere damn it!

GD 09-17-2015 03:58 AM

Which Stifler are we talking about

Sixx 09-17-2015 04:03 AM

How many were there?

If you're talking about those shitty straight to DVD sequels, you might as well save your breath, noone's seen that shit.

GD 09-17-2015 04:23 AM

You've clearly forgotten Stifler's mom. Not to mention his brother. And if you ever bought the original trilogy on home video, you would've seen this nugget

Also the cousins from the "American Pie Presents" series.

Nintendo says they are open to the idea of a new Mario Bros film and a Legend of Zelda film being made only if both meet a certain requirement.

They want both to be live action although the Mario Bros film has to treat Mario and Luigi as twins. The first film having Luigi being way younger than Mario was one of the things they didn't like about it.

For the Legend of Zelda film, they want a woman to play the role of Link.

Lock Jaw 09-25-2015 08:33 PM

A woman playing Link is dumb.

Kalyx triaD 09-26-2015 08:24 AM

Actually it's a bit of a callback to Peter Pan stage plays, where he's traditional played by a woman. I'm sure this is a joke over Link's androgynous features and they'd cast a boy, but the idea wouldn't be out of line.

Batman vs Superman currently on track to become the most expensive film ever to produce.

Quote:

Latino Review reports that (Batman vs Superman) the film's budget has ballooned to $410 million. That already matches the current record holder, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, so if the budget further inflates anytime before release, it will take the record.
For some reference, both Justice Leagues films are expected to cost $500 million combined while Marvel is planning on setting aside at least $1 billion for both Avengers Infinity Wars combined. Could easily end up with one or both Infinity Wars films breaking whatever Batman vs Superman will set.
