And Baltimore is 0-5 this season against teams with a winning record not named the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If we're gonna use Dro-stats, please try to keep them relevant to the teams that are playing this season and not pretend a Ray Lewis-lead defense beating a Chad Hutchinson-lead offense some time around the beginning of the century is very relevant to the outcomes of current games.

Not that it matters this season either because if a Cowboys-Ravens Super Bowl happens, I will literally eat my shoes.

Ravens beat Tony Romo in 2012

I also figure Jerry Jones is still pissed off the Ravens won the last game at Old Cowboys stadium

#1-norm-fan 01-05-2015 07:02 PM

The Ravens beat an 8-8 Dallas team in Baltimore 2 years ago because of a missed field goal as time expired? Cool. Means a lot for the current "winning the AFC North easily" Baltimore Ravens who couldn't beat a good team all year to save their lives and needed the Kansas City Chiefs' help in the end to make the playoffs.

Droford 01-05-2015 07:19 PM

They didnt win the Division but howd that work out for the Steelers?

#1-norm-fan 01-05-2015 07:29 PM

The Steelers lost to the Bucs at home this season. You should feel enough shame that that's the team that turned your "The Ravens are gonna run away with the AFC North title" comment into a hilarious thing to tease you about.

Droford 01-05-2015 08:04 PM

The way i look at the Ravens season is they didnt lose to any team with a losing record, so they won the games they were supposed to win. They were only really embarassed in loses twice (steelers and texans) and they made up for the Steelers drubbing saturday. The loss to the Texans was the worst performance of the year much like in 2012 when they got routed by the Texans in Baltimore. The other 4 losses were by a total of 18 pts.

So you think beating a team without their MVP means the Ravens are good? Just means they are not terrible. Seriously fucking hate your logic.

All i heard last week was how the Steelers didnt need Bell because Roethlisberger was going to throw for 6tds again.

screech 01-05-2015 10:38 PM

Ravens also looked sloppy as fuck against the Colts, the team that wrecked the Bengals twice. The same Bengals that beat the Ravens twice.

I'm pumped they've made it this far, but it's a long and tough road ahead. Dial it back and be at least a bit realistic here, man.

Droford 01-05-2015 10:48 PM

Much like Lions fans whinning about the terrible calls yesterday im still pissed at the offensive pi called on Steve Smith that called back an 80 yard td that would have won that 2nd bengals game

screech 01-05-2015 10:55 PM

Right, but if they'd played better before that it wouldn't have come to that play.

Plus then they would have played the Colts again (maybe?) and, well I covered that.

Who said that? Doubt it was more than 1 person IF anyone said it. And that person probably said it because of how annoying you are.

Droford 01-06-2015 04:47 PM

Some moron on one of the espn nfl shows said even if Bell could play vs the Ravens theyd be better off resting him for the next round because the Ravens are tough on the run and Roethlisberger could have another easy game like he had week 9. The Steelers won by 20 despite bell only having 58 total yards.

Did you know that 98 percent of the country will be rooting for the Patriots this weekend?

Yup, that’s because the nation hates the Ravens. This, according to The Boston Globe’s Eric Wilbur.

“The most deplorable organization in American professional sports punched its ticket for a playoff rematch with the New England Patriots,” Wilbur wrote. “They’re also the most hated team in the NFL. Everybody hates the Ravens.

“Everybody.”
I like the use of the phrase "punched its ticket" which is obviously a shot over the whole Ray Rice fiasco. Im sure the Patriots murdered the competition in the AFC to earn their #1 seed coughaaronhernandezmurdertrialstartsthisweekcough

I would think there would be plenty of happy people if the Ravens win, saving the country from another overhyped Manning/Brady bowl

According to city officials, Rams are likely moving to LA after this year. The city itself is currently pleading with the NFL to either keep the Rams in St Louis or give them a team as compensation.

Quote:

City officials said Wednesday that the owner of the Rams isn't returning their calls, so they plan to work directly with the NFL on efforts to keep a team -- any team -- in St. Louis amid speculation the Rams are headed back to Los Angeles.

Rams billionaire owner Stan Kroenke is part of a joint venture that announced plans Monday for an 80,000-seat stadium in the Los Angeles suburbs, a move that could soon return the NFL to the nation's second-largest market and the home of the Rams from 1946 until they moved to St. Louis in 1995. The move would have to wait at least a year; the NFL has said no team moves would be allowed in 2015.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-07-2015 04:17 PM

How could St Louis get another team? Each division is 4 teams.

road doggy dogg 01-07-2015 04:19 PM

What are SammyG's thoughts on this

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-07-2015 04:21 PM

Probably an awake wet dream.

Droford 01-07-2015 04:23 PM

The rams werent that terrible the last two years in a tough division and St Louis barely supported them.

I dont buy St Louis as a football city.

I wonder if there would have been as much of an outcry if the officials threw and then picked up a flag for that clear facemask on the same play.

Swap Oakland out? I hear O.co Stadium is in pretty bad shape.

Unless there's chatter that another team in the region wants out, St. Louis is pretty much screwed.

screech 01-07-2015 05:11 PM

The worst thing to me was that they missed at least 3 calls on the play and offered no explanation until after the game.

#1-norm-fan 01-07-2015 05:18 PM

Yeah. I feel like the flag being picked up with no explanation is the real issue. If they just didn't call anything it would probably be forgotten about by now. There were tons of shoddy calls all game both ways. Buck and Aikman kept mentioning how it's the first time the crew worked together all year as an excuse.

Not really from the same region but the Jaguars?

Although no clue about the status of their current stadium deal or if the owner really cares about leaving. Outside of the Rams, they've been the most likely candidate for years about moving away.

OssMan 01-07-2015 08:12 PM

:D Rams likely moving.

#1-norm-fan 01-07-2015 09:45 PM

Remember that short period after the Browns came back but before the Texans entered the league where there were 31 teams? Seemed like such a fucking mess. They've got a nice number right now. Hope they don't fuck it up.

Clerk 01-07-2015 10:07 PM

RDD is a fuckhead for thinking trolliness has to do with my fav team. The Packers

James Steele 01-08-2015 02:12 AM

Rams move to LA, add franchises to St. Louis, Toronto, Oklahoma City, and San Antonio.

St. Louis has shown they can support an NFL franchise, Toronto has shown a thirst for football and could become the team of an entire country and the SkyDome is still a premier facility, OKC and SA have shown to be passionate medium market fan bases and football is in those cities DNA. The Saints were rumored to move to San Antonio many moons ago. OKC would need to build a stadium, but San Antonio could renovate the AlamoDome for NFL games until a new stadium can be built. OKC's MLS team is looking to get a stadium built and having the allure of an NFL franchise could get that project done easily.

Hell, go to fucking London, Las Vegas, give LA two teams that share a stadium ala NY, and add a team in Salt Lake City. It'd balance out the increase in playoff teams, make more revenue, and tap into the regional passion/loyalty you see in college football. The market for football is almost insatiable. This would be overkill, but fuck having random numbers in the divisions.

Evil Vito 01-08-2015 11:02 AM

Talent is stretched thin enough in the NFL as it is. Adding 4 teams would be obscene.

Clerk 01-08-2015 05:26 PM

Actually, Chael Sonnen once said

"If I was untalented and have no skill id join the nfl"

Innovator 01-09-2015 09:11 AM

Chael also said he was clean

road doggy dogg 01-09-2015 09:11 AM

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the NFL tried a stunt like adding 4 new teams or something. They are all about squeezing every last dollar they can out of the American consumer, why not bleed dry four untapped markets?

Evil Vito 01-09-2015 12:07 PM

The biggest thing with the NFL is that as it is now the divisions and schedule work out perfectly. 6 games vs. your division, 4 games vs. another division within the conference, 4 games vs. a division in the other conference, and the only variables being games against teams who finished the same place as you within your conference. Even if they bumped it to 18 games it'd be easy enough to figure out the extra 2 games (if you finish 1st you play the 1st AND 2nd place teams the next year).

Adding any more teams just messes things up royally. If they added 4 teams it would turn into 2 divisions of 9 teams per conference or something sloppy like that.

Guys I did some research and I figured out that because the Bengals soundly defeated the Ravens twice this season, any accolades bestowed upon the Ravens must necessarily be given to the Bengals as well. In fact, technically the Bengals should get a higher award since they were better than the Ravens. It's all based on statistics. The numbers don't lie.

So I don't know about you, but I will be cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals this week against the New England Patriots.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-09-2015 02:03 PM

I remember back in 2002 when the 14-2 Bucs won the Super Bowl, I took pride that the Saints, even though horrible, had beaten them those two times.
