Honest to god. The last fighting game I played before SF4 was...MvC2? And before that was... Clayfight 63 1/3??
I think the reason why I enjoyed SF4 so much was because everyone on here enjoyed it and I bought into it. And then that snowballed into ssf4 and mvc3 and blazblue and now I just goozexed Tekken 6 and I don't know why because I FUCKING HATE FIGHTING GAMES. wtf am I doing |
You're strange. When you hate a game/genre, don't compromise yourself unless there's some incentive doing so. I played Modern Warfare 2 to lvl60 because I had points to prove. Played Blops for a bit before it dawned on me that I hate the series and I no longer have incentive to play (no points to prove). And you know there's no way in hell I can be convinced to play or watch something I have no interest in no matter how popular (CoD, Mass Effect, Fringe, High School Musical, etc).
So unless you like fighting games more than you admit, you should just slow down and play what you love. Also, I don't really agree that playing something because everybody else is playing it is a good enough reason to play something you don't like. That's self torture. |
lol, Kalyx and his video game morals.
|
If SFxT really gets a 4plyr mode, Khuntry is my tag partner. Tag Championship is so ours.
Nice to see Ken and Chun Li, but you guys know who I'm waiting for. |
shut up
|
I don't even like video games.
|
Is there a fighting game that kalyx won't buy and claim dominance at?
|
I'm just completely burnt out. Pretty sure SSF4 is going to be the last fighter I play unless KOFXIII is magically good.
Really didn't enjoy MvC3. |
In reading the Destructoid preview, this:

Karin would be great in this game but it sounds like they'll dip into Street Fighter 1 territory. Maybe get Final Fight faces in there as well.
(I think they should look beyond SF but that's me) |

Also thinking Rolento and R. Mika could actually be in this. I can see Hugo being Murdocks counter part and Mika being Kings. Mika has been asked for a lot in SSFIV and AE and she is Onos favourite, supposedly. Rolento will be in it because people keep asking for him as well. |
Hope this means they set Poison's gender controversy to rest. Make her canon female and call it a day.
May also see one of Cammy's Delta Red partners or a Killer Doll member. |
I'm hoping so as well. She was always a women. The transexual thing was just to get around censors. That's obvious.
She was going to be playable in some fighting game that got cancelled so it's not unlikely plus that would mean they'd have a rough idea of her move set already. |
And if she's in that's almost surely Hugo's confirmation.
|
I hope her ending is that she gets the cock beat off of her.
|
As in it falls off. It's not brought to orgasm or anything.
|
I'm definitely not tired of fighting games, I just don't have anyone local to play with.
This game looks like it will be great though. I am doing my best not to use the word "hype". |
I used it like 6 times today.
|
wtf why is it so juggley?
This is supposed to be the capcom version but judging from those bullet points kalyx made, they seem to be adhering more to tekken players. Normally I wouldn't mind, as I like tekken, but I really wanted to see tekken charcters in a more sf4 playstyle. Maybe Namco will do the same thing and make a game closer to street fighter than tekken. I guess it doesn't matter because I will still enjoy this more than MvC 3. WHich I havn't touched since the week after it launched. |
Also, I will never understand the fanbase's facination with poison. She is just a background character, and not even a very interesting looking one at that.
I would rather have the fat asian kid from the overpass stage in sf4, than poison. |
I have a feeling Namco won't be as bipartisan with their engine as Capcom is. SFxT is a solid mix of the games, but TxSF may be Tekken with fireballs. There's really very little Tekken needs to import from SF that they haven't already dabbled in. So short of a wildly different play style, I imagine TxSF will be more Tekken than anything. It's just a feeling.
We'll see after a while. |
Play MvC3, Fignuts. I don't think I played you yet.
|
Dude, you were the first person I played, remember?
|
Nah, I really don't recall...
well in any case my main team is different so I must face you. |
I only one one match then, and it was only a week after release. I havn't played much since then, so it wouldn't really be fun at all.
Unless they release a 1v1 mode, I'll be keeping it local. Unless I play Funky cause I'm sure he's neglected the game also, for his oblivion fix. |
Win.

More freedom in combos but more reserved than I initially thought (this is early gameplay though). As a Sakura player I can tell you charging attacks opens up some fun tactics - so I'm glad it up for everyone. You can also see how grapplers have an easier time then in SSF4. Looks good more than a year from release. Take your time, Ono. |
Looks a little slower than Street Fighter usually is to me.
Lol, most unenthusiatic Sonic Boom ever. |
Gonna rock that Cammy/Nina for the win.
|
I think I've got a good shot with this game. Grapplers can grab people as they jump away, the game seems a little slower and Tekken characters can dodge projectiles. If I can get to grips with Marduk, I'm set for half my team already.
|
This game will be more offensive in general. None of that SSF4 'turtlers delight' mess. This is something I can get behind, reminds me of a KoF game.
|
Loving the stages thus far. So much going on in the background that I'm getting distracted from the matches.
Character wishlist: Street Fighter: Guy, Cammy, Geki, Ibuki, Fei, Rolento, Sodom, Alex, Elena, Yun/Yang, Remy, D. Dark Tekken: Lee Chaolan, Marshall Law, Eddy, Hwoarang, Raven If they go outside of the game series but remain within the games' "universes", how about a Slammasters character or 2 on Capcom's side, and maybe a Soul Calibur character for Namco? |
SoulCalibur characters would be crossing timelines and I don't think they're going 'that' far with mixing things up. Slam Masters exists in the Street Fighter-Final Fight universe so that's fair game. Poison and Hugo looks like a lock. Bruce would be a great rival for Adon or Sagat. Plenty of rival opportunities actually.
|
Wasn't even aware SC took place in the Tekken Universe.
That would explain Yoshimitsu in both games, though. |
Yeah SC is pre-historic Tekken universe. Aside from Yoshimitsu and the Williams sister's Tekken 5 endings they never really toyed with that.
|
I'm sure Gief will be in, to rival King and Marduk. Rufus is a possibility to offset Bob. Jin is a near lock as well. I would expect to see Yoshi too.
|
Been wanting to see some Saturday Night Slam Masters action for a while now. Even if it's a foray into the fighting genre instead of a new arcadey wrestling game, I'll take it.
|
Ono tease (confirms, imo) a 4plyr mode.
There's very little reason not to do this. The pace allows for 4plyrs, and they don't have a hang up about fan friendly modes like the Vs team. Also Ono can't let Harada 1-up him on this tip with SFxT being similar to Tekken Tag. I call Khuntry. |
He's also said to watch the character trailer carefully to see a few hints at what is going to be in the game. Someone pointed out the Dino stage has them fighting on a bridge and then on the grass meaning leveled stages like in the old MK games.
If you look at the start of the trailer with Kazuya (If that's the Tekken guys name) talking Japanese to Ryu & Ken, you see the bridge hanging in the background, broken. So it looks like it'll give way after so many high impact slams and we'll fall to the ground. |
