BTW the hat that the Young Bucks was wearing is an Ascot. They also are called informally Newsboy hats.

I have a dirty secret. I may be a bigger Matt Hardy fan than I am a fan of Darby. Why? I was turned off from Darby when I saw him having a friend of his who is a homeless drug addict do dangerous stunts and eat poop for low amounts of money. Like a Darby version of Jackass.

Ouch at Darby's back.

Does Darby owe Matt money or something?
Matt's been beating the crap out of him as if he did. |
Darby is fucking immortal.

 at Matt getting kicked in the nuts.

why is Darby Allen reminding me of the crazy David Flair in WCW right now lol
|
I was cruising home in the work car yesterday and they said something about Sting as a meet and greet. I'm trying to figure out where....fucking basic radio sometimes.

Think Darby finally snapped.
All he needs is a submission move to become a badass submission machine. |
Darby has lost his mind lol.
|
Great ending
|
WOOOOO COFFIN DROP!!
|
Guys... that was fucking awesome. You can't shit on Hardy after that, that was a great performance. Darby was also incredible. Selling like he's Steamboat or Morton... Killing it with his offense. Great match.
|
Great fucking match indeed!!
|
Okay. Maybe we don't need another match between those two. Can't imagine what more they could do without someone almost definitely getting seriously hurt at best.

Such a damn good match, and even though I'd love to see a sequel that pushes it further, I don't think you could likely top that in a follow up match without serious risk.
|
TNT title match was very entertaining even if it ht train wreck tier at times with all the stuff going around it.
This week's show was also very entertaining and better than last week's show. Only weak points was AEW probably could have scaled back a bit on the amount of shenanigans that went down with the Harwood vs. Jericho and Darby vs. Hardy matches since it felt a bit overboard. AEW's women's division getting two matches was a surprise even if one was just a squash and it didn't come at the cost of them losing segments since they got like 5 on this week's show. |
That main was really well done.
Enjoyed this episode thoroughly. |
I would love to see good guy Jericho bring back the list, but now he is going around trying to make amends to people on it so he can cross them off. I may have been watching a lot of My Name is Earl lately.
|
Overall a pretty good episode this week

I still think Jericho has been doing an 80's rock band gimmick where he's overweight. I bet he gets into shape meow.

He may go down as the Daniel Day Lewis of wrestling. It seems like he's getting thinner on TV.....

Holy crap at that jump.
Figured maybe they'd hit low 900k as best case scenario prior to NXT's numbers coming out and then maybe mid 800k range after NXT had a much smaller boost than I was expecting (NXT actually went down if you factor in Peacock viewers). |
It's a good thing they put on a mostly good show, minus a bit of overbooking. Will be curious to hear the quarter hour breakdowns.
|
Well as predicted by Slik and others the ratings for both shows went up a lot. Turns out it was a good move for NXT to tuck tail to Tuesdays. At least they can say they are the number one show on Tuesdays.

Great counter point.

I thought xrod would go with the excuse that people need to get used to NXT’s new night or something. Instead he just went with a sarcastic congratulations. A defeated man.

Also, no one cares that you don't like AEW. Most of my comments towards it are negative, as there's a lot more things I dislike about AEW than things I enjoy.
But I don't get any flak for it, because I'm not suffering from delusions that everyone is against me. Have you ever tried having an actual discussion with people here, on what you don't like about AEW? I think you'll find even the people who really like AEW would agree with you on some points. At the very least they'd be willing to debate it with you in a civil manner. But you eliminate that possibility when you present your criticisms like a curmudgeonly 12 year old xbox troll. Just try it. Once. For me. Watch an episode of dynamite, and talk about the things you liked, and didn't like. I promise you, most people here will respond civilly to your post, though they may not agree. If anyone does attack you simply for not liking something, I will personally come to your defense and tell them to fuck off. |
Gertner and Shisen need to teach xrod how to properly troll. Poor little feller needs a helping hand.

Also, remember when Noid (the expert on U.S. media ratings and advertising revenues that he is, and who has friend's "in advertising" that supposedly "tell him things" about ratings and ad rates/revenues, for some reason) said that AEW would never break a million viewers again? I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell ya, that he was wrong.
Makes you wonder what else that idiot is wrong about huh? Maybe the utter bullshit he spouts about AEW ratings and ad revenues are bullshit too huh? Nah... can't be! |

Also, I notice how neither of you (especially you) don't actually address the factual substance of the bullshit you're called out on. Myself and others might call you "Vince cocksuckers" as a metaphor because you're pathetic, but that's because most of us at least back up our challenges to your utter bullshit with facts and data. You all never come back with anything factual to refute our factual challenges to your assertions other than to bitch like pathetic morons about how we called you names while you completely ignore the factual substance that we're also calling you out on.

Respect and civil discourse goes both way.
Everyone was chill in this thread until you decided to barge in acting all obnoxious. Then start trying to play as if your the victim and being unfairly bullied this whole time when people either call you out or question why you are acting the way you are. Fignuts even offered to start a discourse with you over AEW to talk about both the good and bad and you decided to just shrug off him. |
I agree with xrod that bigcrippyz is very reactionary, and defensive. But I'd wager even he could be civil with you if you presented your dislikes of AEW in a way that wasn't dripping with sarcasm on a ridiculous level.
Smeat is accurate in that respect goes two ways. You're not going to get said respect by mocking people just for liking something you don't. Whether that was your intention or not, it's how you come off. And if you want to act obnoxious to the people who deny Aew's flaws and see it as the golden goose of wrestling then fine. But don't play the victim as if the whole forum is against you, because I can count on one hand the amount of people here that fit that description. Even among the people who really like AEW. |
As a lifelong Congressional member of the Wrestling Forum I want to put my two cents in on this controversial topic. Many AEW fans in general are very sensitive and protective over their baby. It's an unconditional mother's love that comes from years of abuse by WWE and Vince McMahon. We are all entitled to an opinion, and those opinions or criticisms are absolutely valid if said critic actually watches the product they are speaking on.
For years, many of us have obliterated TNA and WWE for their products. It objectively wasn't for us. Obviously this will be the case for AEW as well. It won't be for everyone. And Xrod is likely lashing out loudly because of the years of abuse from being a WWE fan, the new big million dollar promotion opens with cable tv and ppv and big stars, and it still doesn't appease him. I think it's as simple as that. At least he is in the threads most weeks watching the shows with us, and when it's something he likes he calls it. Basically at least he isn't Noid. |
Easy for me, I like the new product over the old product better. Will tune into old product if there is some kind of buzz but otherwise I'll just read about them online and watch the new.
|

Except that everyone has valid criticisms, they just don't shit on one another for it. In addition, I keep reading about overly-sensitive, staunch defending, AEW apologists, but find none on these boards. In the weekly threads, and the one megathread, the same posters who praise also shame. When asked in the past to show these posts, it is always met with "No, you!". |
Quote:

Yeah, I totally get your reaction to xrod. I just think it's further fueling his behavior.

BigCrippyZ is the man. The man I say.
|
In xrod’s defense I have had civil discourses with him and it offend ends with him humbly admitting how very, very wrong he is.
I’ve also given up and just called him a big dumb fuckstick. Also fun. I see the positives in both strategies. |
Quote:
I post the same sarcastic way about WWE, but oddly enough I cannot recall one time being told I am a Tony Khan Cocksucker. That is the point, that biased overly sensitive posters are incapable of having civil discussions regarding AEW. |
Quote:
Do you think they’re just lying? If not then it stands to reason that maybe it’s the way you carry yourself that causes that kind of response. |
Quote:
If it was just me, I'd get the "Tony Khan Cocksucker" when I post negative about WWE. Since I dont, I can only surmise that AEW is a much more sensitive subject. |

Woooooo!
|
I feel like next week will be down because there aren't any draw matches scheduled yet. They need to have at least one must see match per week IMO.
|
It will probably be down because of no Tyson or "top guy" matches, but still sounds like a good card, two title matches, and there will prob be talking segments with Jericho/Omega/Bucks/MJF, etc.
Darby Allin vs. Jungle Boy will be cool... – TNT Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Jungle Boy – AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Tay Conti – Christian Cage vs. Powerhouse Hobbs – Hangman Page vs. Ricky Starks – Trent vs. Penta El Zero Miedo |
Yeah that isn't a great card to capitalize on a huge 1.2 million rating. I really hope they reshuffle or add something big. Pretty much it has to be Jericho in something big every week IMO. I wouldn't really consider some non title Omega match suitable. Darby vs Jungle Boy is pretty good for a main event though. I'm really waiting for something interesting to pop up with Paul Wight to bring him around weekly. Also for the love of god why isn't Brian Cage getting matches on Dynamite?
|
I like the card. Showcasing some upcoming talent. Rome wasn’t built in a day boys. AEW just started. Even if they do drop, they have been doing awesome. The ratings have been outstanding for today’s standards.
|
I like that card because they are all one on one matches, which I'll take over multiple 6, 8, and 10 man tag matches. Still feels like the matches are just thrown together randomly though.
Penta vs Trent why? Page vs Starks why? Christian vs Hobbs why? No story, no heat, might as well pick names at random from a tumbler. |
Well Hobbs and Christian makes sense. He’s been feuding with Team Taz. As for the other two.. may be the beginning of something. I like both the matches.
