I never played FF Streetwise. I mean... could it be worse than the old game? Really?

It was good. I mean it wasn't bad anyway. My theory is either:

A) It deviated too far from the more light hearted, colorful original.

or

B) It was American.

Personally, I enjoyed the game.

There is nothing more hilarious than busting out an ultra on someone who doesn't know they exist. Especialy when there are several other people who don't know they exist, watching it.

They tell you how do them in the manual. It is not some trade secret known to hardcore gamers.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 is dropping on Wii's XBLA equivalent, WiiWare.

I demand a port of SFA Anthology for XBLA in retaliation.

It's going to end up being the SNES version of the game since Virtual Console doesn't contain any Saturn or PS1 versions of games.

Eww... I had the SNES version but... Eww... You think they'd fit the arcade version in there at least. Also, we know it wouldn't be Alpha 2 Gold. That's almost a slap in the face for Wii owners (they do have CvT though).

Well if it is coming to WiiWare, then it will not be a port. WiiWare is for original games and Virtual Console is for the roms.

Perhaps the source got it wrong.

That's what I was thinking.

Dhalsim seems to have his own stage so maybe character specific stages are back, at least for a few characters so Elena could be there. I've never played as her so it's as good as a brand new character to me if she is in.

I see Hugo in the last screenshot. I'm hoping the S.I.N lab has new awesome music to suit it's new look.
I never knew until recently but apparantly SSFIV's story takes places right after SFIV and isn't just a redo of SFIV's story.

I don't think we will unless they do DLC, which I'm pretty sure I heard they weren't.
The character select screen was shown on a Famistu stream showing off the game and there aren't spots for Evil Ryu.

The slot under Sakura on the far right is probably another new character, Hakan. The other 3 slots are probably for the SF3 characters which are rumoured to be Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto.

What! Are you sure?

They are all on the character list that leaked a while ago. The list leaked before the game was announced and listed T.Hawk, Dee Jay, Adon, Cody, Guy and even Juri. The only others on the list where Hakan, Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto. The same list mentioned bonus stages, lobbies & new ultras which are in to so it's pretty much a sure thing.

The new character select screen has just enough spaces for the final four, as you can see in my post above.

Between the speculation, the leak, the numbers matching up, and Capcom being aware that 3rd Strikers are certainly in high demand - the final four characters seem correct. I once thought Capcom simply cared less but during promotion of the game Capcom Unity and Ono-san made many references to how they follow the fans musings. It would silly of them to address several of SF4's issues that the fans voiced and not hear about how 3rdS was under represented.

At the very least Ibuki seems likely with that dagger showing up in those pics, there's only so much required for inductive reasoning. The last four names will certainly be the characters.

This game will own lives then

This will open up some interesting match-ups. It's a nice big character list now, online matches will be interesting. Now we need to know about the tweeks and rebalances.

Edit: The story has vanished now so it could be it was found to be a lie afterall. Then again, the original list of leaked characters vanished to and that's been accurate so far.

Source. I'm not so sure if I believe this or not. After seeing the character select screen, where would he go? Unless he'd fill the slot that "Random select" fills currently or if the character boxes scrolled to reveal another row or something. You can never have too many character so I hope it's true.

I'm hoping we can organise at least one team battle with a bunch of the guys from the SFIV tournement. Use our finishing positions to maybe make teams of even skill.

You see Online Vs. Ryu mode changing?

I fought more Kens (and eventually Sagats) than Ryu online, but I see what you're saying. But I imagine trends like that will stop once the game is rebalanced and tweaked. There will always be 'favorites' though, no doubt about it.

I'd imagin we'll see Juri a lot online for the first week or 2. I see mostly Ryu online these days but it doesn't really bother me. It bothers me when people employ certain tactics online that make the fight completely unfair. Dhalsim users constantly jumping backwards and doing his fierce punch or any match in general where the player employs one move or tactic they know Zangief is completely helpless against rather than just facing me head on. It's only really Dhalsim players, though. I know you have to keep your distance from Zangief but theres a limit.

I "main" Zangief and I feel I've gotten much better with him since our SF4 tournement but I still have a real hard time against Cammy. Shes my biggest weakness by far. If I block a Spiral Arrow, I get a Cannon Spike to the face. She seems to find a way around/out of any move I pull off. I just can't figure her out.

Some cool things there. new alternate costumes, new utras. All looking very cool. You can see the completed character select screen in the lower left but it's too small to make out who is on it but that should mean the final character reveal is coming up.

Edit: New info. It's a fairly long article to copy/paste so I'll just link to it here. It basically tells us how the new Ultras will work. We select one of the two available Ultras before the match with the idea being it will change the way the player decides to play that match.
