Disney's not going to interfere with current and even future Marvel deals with other studios, they will only increase Marvel's output by producing material for heroes other studios haven't picked up yet.
Nothing changes essentially, save for extra stuff. |
Hey Kalyx, sorry to go off topic here, but I was wondering something today that maybe you could help me with.
The Punisher and Solo. Have they ever teamed up or fought? I'd be interested to see it. |

Seems like a punisher rip-off.

What do you get when you Cross the Punisher with Conan Obrien? |
and the 90's
|
Yeah. I'm amazed he wasn't called Riptooth or Bloodclaw. Fuckin' 90s.
|
Just for the record, I'm not a 'fan' of Solo or anything, I mean he pops up now and then and he seems alright, just kinda always thought he'd have met the Punisher by now.
|
I haven't seen Solo in anything for years.
|
wasnt there a movie called 'Solo' in the early 90's?
|
I think so, starring Mario Peebles or somesuch.

Enter Captain America:
The question of who will wield the shield is one of the most intriguing casting mysteries in contemporary Hollywood. It appears that Marvel has narrowed the field down quite a bit, though it is still unclear whether the studio will decide to go with a relative unknown or someone with a modest resume like Chris Evans (the Human Torch in the FF movies). The success that directors like J.J. Abrams who chose Chris Pine for Star Trek and James Cameron who went with Sam Worthington for Avatar have enjoyed certainly tends to indicate that casting unknown actors is no deterrent to creating a box office bonanza. According to Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has already crossed a number of names off the well publicized list of Captain America wannabes (see “Captain America Casting Underway”) including John Krasinski (The Office), Michael Cassidy (Smallville), and Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl). Actors who are “still in the running” include Wilson Bethel who starred in HBO’s Generation Kill and is currently appearing in the Young and the Restless, Mike Vogel (Cloverfield), Garrett Hedlund (Four Brothers, Tron Legacy), and Chris Evans, who is currently shooting the movie Safety Point in Texas. According to The Reporter, Marvel Studios wants to sign its Captain America to a 9-picture deal, with The Avengers film being the second movie. The Captain America movie is set to debut on July 22, 2011. |
Sam worthington would be a sweet captain america btw
|
I'm picturing Jim from The Office as Captain America and laughing.
|
|
How is Chris Evans in the running? I've only ever seen him play douchebags. He would have made a great Human Torch, had the FF movie not been a total abortion in the first place.
|
Too much Deadpool. He really does not need 4 ongoing series.
Apparently two of the Jonas Brothers want to play Cap as well. Just as well that'll never happen. |
why on earth is there a deadpool with lightsabers and a dog deadpool?
|
They wanna make 9 Captain America movies wtf?! The actor will be 60 by the time they're all done.
Unless, it's cameos etc. |
I am not all that informed on Marvel, its stories, comics or characters - but as a fan of the X-Men cartoon, and in turn these movies in general, I am someone who fails to see any actual appeal in a Captain America film, I mean the character looks pretty out dated and seems to have only served as a good character/story for 'back in the day'. I just don't see the appeal in a film being made, pretty sure there are other better characters and stories to make. Would the film be set in the past or modern day?
|
Captain America rules. Probably my favorite Marvel character.
I think the film is set in the past but ends up in the modern day? Too lazy to go check. |

I read a couple issues with the multiple deadpools, and it was hilarious.

Too much Deadpool? I love him, and I agree (due to trying to get everything he's in has became mundane because it isn't a treat anymore) but I'm not pissed about it. I'm happy for him. I liked that character since like 1997 when he wasn't that big. When I got back into reading comics 3 years ago, I was so glad to see Cable & Deadpool- I was like "oh shit! Deadpool's has another book"
But just look at how many books Spider-Man, Batman, Superman are in. Deadpool is simply "hot" right now and Marvel is just being capitalist and cashing in on his cult-fueled rise to fame. I NEVER thought I'd see 4 on goings from him. But chances are, going by the sales- there will only probably be 2 main books left after the storm. Check out the oath for the DP Corps- "Through Lightest Dark or Darkest Light, Don't need no Bling to join the Fight, Were Mercs with Mouths and so much more, Yippee Ki Yay were the Deadpool Corps!!" And Lettered preview of siege #3! http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...649&disp=table |
CLANG

That was awesome.
|
looks too much like Spiderman.
For some reason I think the Noob Saibot look would work for him. |
No way. Deadpool costume is tight. Besides, once you read even one issue, you'll never confuse him with spider-man again.

I remember the deadpool cameo in spider-man a few months ago and one part where he thinks to himself "People have lways thought you were just a spider-man knockoff. Kill him now and you can finally add the blue to the costume"
