Miotch 02-22-2011 06:08 PM

BigDaddyCool 02-22-2011 11:35 PM

Well one was magic, one radio active and a third had a alien space ring.

Sixx 02-28-2011 03:23 AM

Two claws on each hand. That reminds me, I'd like to see Daken in a movie some day.

Fignuts 02-28-2011 03:26 AM

Fucking hate Daken. He just seems like such a 90's character.

Kalyx triaD 02-28-2011 03:36 AM

I gotta say I fuckin hate Daken, too. Never before as a character's visual design, personality, and canon-wise impact been so uniformly detestable to me. I hate everything about him.

Romulus (an awesome character concept) jobs to Wolverine clean after two years of buildup for this Daken fucker to headline a series and fuck Mystique? Tighten up, Marvel.

Fignuts 02-28-2011 03:39 AM

He is also completely unnecessary given X-23's existance. Who is a far better character, btw.

Kalyx triaD 02-28-2011 03:42 AM

Kill Daken, and bring back Sabretooth. Pair him with X2 as a twisted uncle/niece set-up where they... fight people, I don't know. Just kill Daken.

Fignuts 02-28-2011 03:47 AM

Ugh, sabretooth can stay buried. Sick of him.

Kalyx triaD 02-28-2011 03:55 AM

Victor Creed is the shit.

dronepool 02-28-2011 03:59 AM

Daken is cool. I like his characterization. Love his style.

I hate mohawks, so I buy him as a villain and want Wolverine to kick his ass.

Reavant 02-28-2011 01:25 PM

is daken good or bad?

dronepool 02-28-2011 01:29 PM

Mostly bad.

Sixx 02-28-2011 01:29 PM

He's kind of a tweener, just kills everyone he doesn't like, but he also wants to kill Wolverine real bad. So I dunno, really.

Fignuts 02-28-2011 01:29 PM

Bad

BigDaddyCool 02-28-2011 01:38 PM

he is fag

BigDaddyCool 02-28-2011 01:38 PM

also, why does he want to kill wolverine?

Lock Jaw 02-28-2011 01:46 PM

BECAUSE HIS DADDY DIDN'T LOOOOOVE HIM!!! :'( :'( :'(

Kalyx triaD 02-28-2011 01:47 PM

We all want to kill our fathers.

BigDaddyCool 02-28-2011 01:59 PM

i don't. He helps me brew beer.

Nah, he's straight up bad, he's just not limited to killing heroes and civilians. Figgy's right though. He reeks of 90s "motivation shrouded in mystery" villain.

BigDaddyCool 02-28-2011 03:36 PM

gay...i mean that is just so tired of an idea.

Well, he also kills villains, hence my tweener comparison.

But basically, yeah, he is a bad guy.

Sixx 02-28-2011 06:00 PM

Ah, I think I kind of misinterpreted the definition of "tweener" a bit.

Nevermind.

Kalyx triaD 03-01-2011 05:40 PM

Remember that X-Men anime trailer? Here's the models for the team appearing in Japan's take on Xavier's team:

Storm looks cool. You can just tell Cyke is going to be team leader douche.

Shadow 03-01-2011 06:27 PM

Who's Hisako Ichiki?

Kalyx triaD 03-01-2011 06:34 PM

I'm guessing it's an original character, but if she's somebody from Marvel U speak up, anybody.

Inadequacy 03-01-2011 06:36 PM

Wikipedia says she's a mutant called Armor created by Joss Whedon in 2004.

mitchables 03-01-2011 11:18 PM

ah yeah, the kid with the blue shieldy business in astonishing. i remember her.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2011 01:08 AM

The hand on the hip and the slight lean aren't helping his masculinity either

In order to save Beast's life, Sage activated a secondary mutation in his genes, making him more of a blue cat man than a blue gorilla.

Cyclops is supposed to be tall and Storm is tall for a chick

Fignuts 03-03-2011 02:49 AM

Storm is african. She is probably mad tall.

Jeritron 03-03-2011 02:58 AM

Wolverine is definitely way too tall and the costumes look quite lame, but I'm not really going to harp on it since I don't have interest in anime anyways.

BigDaddyCool 03-03-2011 11:44 AM

I should probably point out that not all Africans are 8 foot Sudanese people. In fact, most Africans are not tall at all, what with the no food thing.

BigDaddyCool 03-03-2011 01:07 PM

But she is one of them Sudanese people.

Lock Jaw 03-03-2011 01:26 PM

I bet she's real good at basketball too.

Reavant 03-03-2011 02:54 PM

considering she can fly to the hoop yea

BigDaddyCool 03-03-2011 02:58 PM

well good at basketball for a girl. Probably can't dunk.

Reavant 03-03-2011 03:47 PM

again... u realize she can fly?

Miotch 03-03-2011 03:49 PM

His point is that she's a girl, and that even the ability to fly only allows her to do layups and jump shots.

Reavant 03-03-2011 03:51 PM

yea i got that i just like making him feel stupid way to fuck it up

BigDaddyCool 03-03-2011 04:20 PM

Then I realized it was actually him from the movie.

That looks incredible. I can't believe how authentic it looks to the character.

I love Red Skulls jacket.

And like this, Jeritron?

http://www.actionfigurepics.com/wp-c...ress01-001.jpg

Jeritron 03-03-2011 10:56 PM

Yes, basically.

I really love every bit of news that comes out about Captain America. Usually these things tend to sound worse and worse, but this keeps getting better and better.

There hasn't been much talk about it in here, but I'm thrilled about Alan Silvestri doing the music.
He just has the perfect style. When they announced this, I hoped the tone of the movie would be a mix of Raiders, The Rocketeer, and Back to the Future.
Seems like everything is working towards that.

I guess my only hope I'm still not sure on is whether or not they will stick to practical action/stunts/effects for the most part.
I'd rather see real, rough action like Raiders of the Lost Ark. It just suits the character better, and most importantly, the time period. Something about using a boatload of CGI in a movie set in WW2 just magnifies the shittiness of it. I know there will obviously be some CGI, but hopefully not uneeded amounts.

Joe Johnston seems pretty good about that though. I was really pleased with the use of makeup and practical effects in The Wolfman.

Fignuts 03-03-2011 11:22 PM

Holy fuck Red Skull looks amazing.

Funky Fly 03-04-2011 12:48 AM

Cap is looking to be a great film here.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2011 02:12 PM

The Avengers:

SPOILER: show
Quote:

Before The Trailer (via Screenrant) tracked down the complete information for the upcoming New Mexico casting call. The interesting part is this description of the story:

"A superhero team called 'The Avengers' do battle against two separate alien extraterrestrial humanoid life forms. The Avengers are a superhero team, consisting of a group of Marvel Comics heroes aka 'Earth’s Mightiest Heroes'. The aliens that The Avengers will fight are called 'The Kree' and 'Skrulls'. These two extraterrestrial races become embroiled in a war for ages that ultimately makes its way to Earth, and the Avengers unite to intervene with all their power and might combined."

Lara Emily 03-11-2011 03:21 PM

Fucking sweet choice for The Avengers antagonists

The Destroyer 03-11-2011 03:46 PM

Assuming it's actually true. I have my doubts.

Fignuts 03-11-2011 05:44 PM

Damn, didn't think they'd go with Kree-Skrull war right off the bat. Not that I'm complaining, as It's arguably the best Avengers story ever.

David Slade, who directed 30 Days of Night (2007) and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) will direct a new Daredevil film for 20th Century Fox. Slade had been one of the finalists to direct the new Wolverine movie, but lost out to Darren Aronofsky.

According to Variety, the new Daredevil movie won’t be a rehash of the rather pitiful 2003 Fox Daredevil epic that wasted the talents of a great cast that included Ben Affleck, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Garner, Jon Favreau, and Joey Pants (Joe Pantoliano). Certainly there are plenty of Daredevil comic book sagas that could translate well to the screen given the right creative team. No writers or other members of the creative were announced except for producer Peter Chernin.

The 2003 Daredevil movie, which was directed by Mark Steven Johnson, cost $78 million and earned just $102 million domestically, which means it didn’t make money for the studio. Still, it earned nearly $80 million overseas, so it probably came close to breaking even—and with Marvel’s “use it or lose it” clauses in its movie rights deals, Fox has evidently decided to role the dice again for a second Daredevil film rather than let the rights lapse back to rival Marvel/Disney.

Lock Jaw 03-15-2011 11:29 PM

Figured this was coming. :y:

Rammsteinmad 03-16-2011 02:28 PM

I really liked the Daredevil movie, so I'm happy if another one is being made.

parkmania 03-17-2011 02:42 PM

In a blow to Fox’s Wolverine sequel top tier director Darren Aronofsky has bowed out of the production. A significant part of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel, which will be called simply The Wolverine, would have been shot overseas, most of it in Japan. In a statement announcing his intention to leave the project Aronofsky said: “It became clear to me that the production of The Wolverine would keep me out of the country for almost a year. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time.”

According to Deadline, Aronofsky’s breakup with actress Rachel Weisz and custody issues concerning their son are behind his decision to leave the project, which has nothing to do with the script by Christopher McQuarrie. In his statement Aronofsky expressed his disappointment, “I am sad that I won’t be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Hugh Jackman again.”

In its statement Fox expressed “understanding and respect” for Aronofsky’s decision. The studio also noted that “Hugh Jackman and Fox both remain fully committed to making The Wolverine. We will regroup and move forward aggressively.”

The project has not yet officially been greenlit, but the start of filming had already been postponed from this spring due to Jackman’s promotional schedule for Real Steel and the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Jeritron 03-17-2011 03:54 PM

Jesus that is a huge bummer. That will now be renowned as one of those "what if" movies. Especially since it's highly unlikely they're going to find a replacement on his level.

Lock Jaw 03-18-2011 02:23 PM

JK Simmons to voice J. Jonah Jameson on the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. :y:

Inadequacy 03-18-2011 02:38 PM

That's seriously awesome news.

Shadow 03-18-2011 05:16 PM

Wait...ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN CARTOON!?

Rammsteinmad 03-18-2011 05:45 PM

Another Spider-Man cartoon already?

Nowhere Man 03-18-2011 10:00 PM

Yeah, that was announced about a year ago. In fact, the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon is the main reason why The Spectacular Spider-Man got canceled, to make room for the new one (and that's also why I will probably not watch the new one, because SSM is one of my favorite superhero shows ever and I'm still bitter)

McLegend 03-20-2011 09:08 PM

They are doing reshoots on Captain America. I don't think that's good.

dronepool 03-20-2011 09:17 PM

Yeah, that annoys me. Not because it ruins the number run but it waters down the "anniversary" issues and ensures them as nothing but money grabbing experiments with reprints in the back.

If the story is good, I'll get the trade for almost half the price from amazon, but I'm not supporting the single/monthly book.

Lock Jaw 03-20-2011 09:17 PM

Nothing wrong with reshoots at all.

Jeritron 03-20-2011 09:38 PM

Reshoots are standard movie-making

McLegend 03-20-2011 10:10 PM

For movies that aren't going that well.

Kalyx triaD 03-22-2011 06:13 AM

If it's any consolation, the Ultimate Spider-Man has really slick animation and looks good. I get the vibe of the Fox Kids 'toon, except with modern quality animation. The models return to realistic style, and it overall seems darker (visually) than the last few Marvel toons released.

This probably doesn't mend the tragic loss of Spectacular Spidey, which I immensely enjoyed catching up on Netflix, but it looks like Ultimate can service us well.

If I could find clean footage I'll post it.

Jeritron 03-22-2011 06:17 AM

Netflix needs to get on the older cartoons

McLegend 03-23-2011 08:44 PM

Captain America trailer is online, and I like it. The CGI on Chris Evans pre-Super soldier is a little bad in some spots though.

I am trying to post it.

Jeritron 03-23-2011 09:06 PM

Is this the same one that came out around the superbowl?

McLegend 03-23-2011 09:11 PM

Nope full trailer. The trailer was suppose to be posted at Noon tomorrow, but for whatever reason ET realeased it early. They have taken it down off the website.

Here is link to the trailer which is on the bottom of the page. Couldn't find an embed trailer that worked on here.

Treatment for X4 sent to Fox. Fox likes it. Story leads to a potential X5.

Wolverine still trucking on, curiously called "Hugh Jackman's Wolverine" by producer Laurie Donner. Just her way of calling it, I'm sure.

Deadpool still happening, Ryan still attached.

Overall Fox has long term plans for Marvel's mutant sandbox.

Avengers is filming... right now.

Rammsteinmad 03-30-2011 02:14 PM

As in X-Men 4? Not First Class 2, or anything? A continuation from X3?

That'd be awesome if they did that. Good to hear about Deadpool too, as I'd love to see that on the big screen.
