Creep 2 - 8/10

Different than the first, in some ways better (smarter and more interesting protagonist) and some ways less (less creepy). A good flick.

El Vaquero de Infierno 09-04-2019 10:46 AM

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood 8/10

I enjoyed it a lot more than Hateful 8, which I found over-long and tedious.

9.5/10 - Watched on Netflix, legit unsettling and has a really memorable scene involving a mask.

I started watching this and got to the part where he's sitting in the bathtub and turned it off.

Mistake?

It is suppose to make you uncomfortable. It gets better.

Ok i'll put it on later tonight. Watching Dante's Peak. Pierce Brosnan is a dream boat.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - 4/10

i enjoyed the original more than most. This, which i didnt watch on release because it lookef like a shameless cash grab, turned out to be a shameless cash grab. The acting is all good save Alba...whose as good as she's able to be...

This is shot with higher quality cameras then the first which exposes the lack of real sets/locations in every frame and betrays the art style that made the first film a delight.

The new characters are good. Much better than the attempt to raise the dead to bring back characters from the first film thar were all well passed finished.

Pacing is bad. Framing is bad/lazy/amateurish. I think Miller likely was more hands on on this than the first. Rodrigues is better than this on a technical level.

Destor 09-04-2019 10:48 PM

Brolins Dwight wont be as memorable as Owens but it played well.

Droford 09-04-2019 10:57 PM

I finally got my Preshow app to work, seeing It 2 tomorrow.

Destor 09-04-2019 11:53 PM

Oh yeah and massive continuity errors cant leave that out

Blinded By The Light - 6.5/10

Seanny One Ball 09-05-2019 09:48 AM

Best thing about Sin City 2 was JGL. I like when Christopher Lloyd sucks the popsicle stick and takes his shoes.

Lock Jaw 09-05-2019 10:28 AM

I liked Eva Green and her boobies

Seanny One Ball 09-05-2019 11:11 AM

Eva Green has a track record for appearing in incredibly poor sequels to popular blockbusters using mediocre graphics.

It 2 the almost 3 hour rub time isn't terrible but

SPOILER: show
"I didn't like the ending" but seriously it just felt like a rehash of part 1 with the added part of the ritual. Blah blah source material blah blah..

Ultimately it's not as good as the first but it's still ok.
Everyone's also praising it for being funny (90% bill hader)
But honestly I thought the kids banter waa funnier in the first movie.

Bonus points to for
SPOILER: show
the fake out opening into the Harley Quinn movie teaser

7/10

Frank Drebin 09-05-2019 10:17 PM

3 hour rub time? Who can possibly jerk someone off for that long?

I saw Creep. It was real good. I had a few smallish issues. I feel like when he was drugged he should have been drugged. Also, where was the sister? Why didnt she come for that guy. And at the end, no blood spatter?

I honestly didnt think the end was going to happen. The movie was somewhat slow paced, but you couldnt tell because the creepiness kept increasing and making you feel like it's more fast paced than it is. I thought it at the end he was just gonna scare him lol. I dont feel like the camera guy did enough to stop that shit.

Overall, I'd give it a 7.5/10

Watch the sequel man. It's good.

Frank Drebin 09-06-2019 10:11 PM

By good, he means you get an extended look at Mark Duplass's dick.

I know what all of you are thinking and no I'm not kidding, Guru Dave loves penis.

RP 09-07-2019 05:35 AM

Just finished Creep 2. I liked it. Mark Duplass penis stole the show. I was hoping she would kill him and take over or something. I kinda puked when she got naked and her underarms were not shaved. That was actually more disgusting than Mark Duplass erect 3 inch penis. Oh yah and Baby Peach Fuzz.

I give it 7/10

IT Chapter 2 - 8/10

Bill Hader is the MVP of this movie. Funnier than the first film but with a surprisingly emotional finish. Takes a bit to get going but once everyone is battling IT things get really good. Would say the first film is better overall but this also good.

Yesterday - 8.5/10

Relatively "simple" movie, but I enjoyed it a lot....

Destor 09-10-2019 11:12 PM

Its on my "as soon as i see it streaming" list

Damian Rey 2.0 09-10-2019 11:53 PM

IT: Chapter 2
7/10

It is admittedly not as captivating as the first one. And it feels a bit "been there, done that". Pennywise was of course awesome. And the adult cast, after taking a decent amount of time to get established, is also great.

It's still very enjoyable, with an absolutely brutal opening scene. The flashbacks are mixed in more than I thought they'd be, but were enjoyable nonetheless.

I do wish there was more Pennywise. Feels like he wasn't in it as much as I remember in the first one. Still, it's a solid sequel that I think puts out a strong finish.

Solo: A Star Wars Story- 5/10

If member berries was a movie. This film would barely make sense if you hadnt seen 4, 5 and 6. This film doesnt do callbacks instead it attempts to harness nostalgia as a plot and fails to form any identity of its own.

The crime of thinking anyone wanted Han Solo without Ford does not go unpunished as whats his face and Glover both come off as doing shit impressions of better actors.

Action continuously occurs for the sake of action. I find it tedious.

On a technical level the film works but im left powerfully unmoved by anything they tried to do in this.

Thank you. I will not watch it.

Destor 09-11-2019 12:43 AM

If its free and youre bored go for it. Otherwise...yeah skip it.

Lock Jaw 09-11-2019 01:01 AM

I thought it was alright. Not great by any means, but.... I'd like a sequel, if only to deal with the loose plot threads they clearly set for sequels. I know it ain't gonna happen though.

Destor 09-11-2019 02:08 AM

Yeah 0% on that one.

"If Mean Girls was shit" is the way this is trending.

0 stars.

I couldn't even finish it. I have no idea why this has a 96% fresh rating other than it's got every type of gender minority in it thus giving this a bad rating would cause the reviewer to be crucified and no longer allowed to have a Twitter account.

The two main characters are not funny and not protagonists I'm rooting for. I don't hate them or anything but being smart without any other really redeeming qualities isn't a compelling study of character. How am I supposed to root for someone who flaunts getting into Yale, then is crushed to find out shes not the only one going to an elite tier college? That's an asshat, not a lovable awkward high schooler.

Seriously. Had to turn it off. Couldn't even see it through. I want my 5 bucks back.

The way this movie blows itself over it's own virtue signaling is very WWE. "Look at us being inclusive! Aren't we progressive af?"

GD 09-14-2019 02:10 AM

Why am I not surprised? I thought it was a sweet movie, Franklin.
