Mr. Nerfect 08-26-2016 04:56 AM

The story of them finally winning the belts will be sick. There's probably this desire to split them with a heel turn, but they are really working in this role. Why change what isn't broken?

#BROKEN Hasney 08-26-2016 05:52 AM

I think they're being called up before then. Cruiserweight division baby.

Come to think it seems like there are relatively few women in the world of wrestling who aren't wifed up by or dating other wrestlers. And the ones that aren't usually met their significant others before they ever got into the business.

I guess it's not exactly surprising given the travel and lifestyle.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 06:58 AM

So...how long until Drew McIntyre is back in the WWE?

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 07:00 AM

Drew McIntyre & Nikki Cross vs. Sheamus & Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 34. Calling it now.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 07:02 AM

I'd mark out if to turn WWE on its head, John Cena suddenly jumped over to RAW and won the Universal Title on his first night back with the brand. He's exploited his connections with Vince McMahon and management to break the rules. Big Match John can basically do what he wants, and that includes get inserted into title matches despite losing his last match to AJ Styles.

Cena becomes the top heel in wrestling and goes on to hold the Universal Title until WrestleMania where he is challenged by Finn Balor. AJ Styles and Balor walk out of Mania with their belts and have an Eddie/Benoit moment.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 07:04 AM

Alexa Bliss should be someone's manager, but I'm not really sure who. Heel Dolph? Could you call up Blake & Murphy to be lackies for Ziggler?

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 07:04 AM

Heel Mojo with Alexa could be interesting.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 07:06 AM

Actually, that's a faction I want to see: Dolph Ziggler, Mojo Rawley, Buddy Murphy, Wesley Blake & Alexa Bliss. Mojo's first feud is obviously with Zack Ryder. Curt Hawkins helps out Ryder against Blake & Murphy. Mojo gets cockier and cockier and eventually splits from Ziggler and the two have a match where Dolph puts over Mojo, who is hopefully getting over with his new asshole persona. Basically the Nation dynamic with Dolph playing Faarooq and Mojo playing Rock.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 07:45 AM

Are there any other guys you'd like to see the WWE bring in? to pad out the rosters a bit more?

* Scotty 2 Hotty for the Cruiserweight Division. I'd also like to see him play a more serious veteran and mentor to someone at some point, and be put in a tag team with them. I mean, could you imagine him making the face tag to someone who comes in and cleans house?

* Carlito to lead The Shining Stars. He's apparently holding the WWE up for too much money, but they've never been good at creating Hispanic stars, and Carlito is probably one of the more charismatic guys they've had that doesn't have the last name Guerrero or Mysterio. Given what is available to them, he'd be a good option. Don't beat him and placate his ego so he keeps doing good work. The dude can put out some really great stuff if he's allowed to.

* Charlie Haas to team with Shelton Benjamin. American Alpha vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team has got some appeal to it. Fuck it, have Rico return as their manager too.

* Chris Masters has got a lot of passion for what he does, is a lot better than he was when he was given his first push with the WWE, and it's rare to find a guy his size these days. He's still only 33 years old. He's at least worthy of a mid-card title. I wouldn't be upset if he was the guy to dethrone Rusev to be perfectly honest with you.

* Kind of think that New Day vs. 3MB would change the wrestling industry. I'm just saying. 3MB standing up to The Wyatt Family also has some charm to it.

* Rob Conway is still really shredded and having a guy his age come back could be an awesome heel gimmick. All the fat dads in the audience don't have an excuse to not look like him. Interactions between him, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens could be hilarious.

* Trent Barreta for the Cruiserweight Division all day long.

* Victoria for a Women's Division. If they're bringing back Stevie Richards, why not revive that pairing? Richards should take Brad Maddox's gimmick and reveal that he's been training in a cave for the past eight years or however long it's been since we've seen him. Fuck it, bring back Ivory (even though she's talked shit publicly about Triple H), and have Richards be this guru of veteran women's talent.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2016 08:28 AM

When planning out how WrestleMania could go in my head, I really think the WWE could do two WrestleManias. I mean, when you consider that you'll have all these part-timers returning, you could space them out between the two brands and really give everything some breathing room.

I mean, Shane and Triple H will both probably wrestle. If The Undertaker wants to, he'll have a slot too. Then there's Brock. Cena. Orton. Rock. It'll all work out. Would doing two amazing 4-hour shows be more beneficial than doing one 7-hour one?

I'd say no, simply coz Wrestlemania is "the big one" with over 30 years of history, and just wouldn't be right being "the big two". Of course, they could solve the problem if guys like Triple H and Undertaker would finally fuck off and stop stealing the spotlight.

Technically they already do with how they have treated SummerrSlam in recent years as another "Mania."

More likely all that would happen is every big star that wrestled in the first Mania show would just hog up the spots for the other Mania show. Brands themselves don't have the star power needed even with part timers returning to hold their own Mania shows so it would need to be co-branded ones.

According to Cody Rhodes, the official reason why WWE has never done a War Games ppv or match is due to Vince likely being the person who refused to to spend the money nor extra space needed for it.

Triple H himself has been trying for years to convince Vince to do one after they started to bring back past WCW ppv names and ideas.

Quote:

Q: You've been a part of some very exciting storylines and matches in WWE, and my favorite was the work you did with Goldust and Dusty against the Shield leading into and at Battleground in 2013. What was that experience like for you, working with Goldust and Dusty, and do you hold that program as special as myself and other fans do as well?

A: "I'm going to disappoint you. There is so much about that time period that touched me and was really something that will stand out as a favorite memory of my father and what he was able to do the day of Battleground. How we were able to get people to see what we couldn't, but it's not even in my top five of the things I did with WWE. The reason being, when I got into WWE I wanted to be anything other than Dusty's kid. I didn't want to have any connection with Dustin either as far as Goldust, not because I don't love them; it's just nostalgia if I was paying tribute to them. So I wanted to be very different than the three Rhodes on paper. I never really saw us as having that family moment, but we did.

"There are so many things about that match and people might know this, but Battleground was originally designed to be War Games. War Games was going to come back and somebody—and I don't actually know who so not I'm not trying to be vague—but somebody said 'No it takes up too much ticket space so we aren't going to do the War Games.' So then it became a tag match. Before it was ever a tag match, it was to be me returning in this cool drifter-like Midnight Rider mask that I had commissioned and paid for and was all excited about. So many things didn't happen for it to just be a family match, but I'm glad people loved it. When I look at it now, I wonder "what if" about all the other things, especially with the War Games portion."

According to Ryback, the main reason he left the WWE was due to them constantly lying to him when it came to his career's direction. Promised him a lot of things only to abruptly pull support and/or pushes when it got close to being delivered.

Got to the point, Ryback felt it was better to walk away from a $1.5 million offer than continue working for the WWE.

He did offer some praise for being the start of his wrestling career and giving him some good memories he had there.

Quote:

He said that he was never the company's guy and wondered why they put the Intercontinental Championship on him in 2015. After winning the title, he was presented with a new contract offer. Reeves said he wasn’t happy with the offer considering what he had done for the company.

But Reeves said he didn't leave because of monetary value of the offer. "Not about a money issue, just so everybody knows, I walked away from the WWE, the contract offer that I walked away from was a three-year $1.5 million contract.” Reeves said.

Reeves mentioned that there were other things he wasn't happy about. He said that there were merchandising opportunities that didn’t pan out and noted how expensive travel expenses were, saying the way professional wrestling has always done things isn’t always right.

Reeves said that he had been lied to at many times in his career about booking and other opportunities. He claimed that Vince McMahon told him that he would be the number one heel in the company and have the title put on him if he listened to McMahon and read his promos as they were scripted. Reeves also claimed that he was supposed to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania 32, with McMahon telling him that he would "squash that little twerp."

That changed and Reeves would go on to face Kalisto on the WrestleMania 32 kickoff show. He said that he was set to sign a new contract but sent a revised offer to the company after not being happy about how he was handled.

On his last day at television, Reeves said he knew that WWE wasn't going to accept the revised offer and thought the booking of the show was intended to make him look bad before he left. He claimed he told Mark Carano to take him off television, but didn't talk to McMahon because he had been lied to too many times before ...

He claimed that he was offered magazine covers but WWE wouldn't let him do them despite allowing other talent to. He said that WWE wanted Roman Reigns to appear on a cover instead of him at one point.

Fignuts 08-30-2016 07:38 PM

Owens was apparently very stubborn and difficult to work with in ROH. He also was in worse shape back then too, and cornette kept trying to get him to put down the cheeseburger and pick up some weights.

Cornette said that he'll never be successful unless he changes those aspects. Which he clearly did.

He also criticized owens ring attire, but I can't really blame him. I never thought I'd see a guy who dresses like a yard tard as champ either, but here we are.

Emperor Smeat 08-30-2016 07:59 PM

Cornette's problem is he has a really bad way of giving advice or running things that it always ends up pissing whoever he gives it to. Even if the advice has some merit to it, it comes off more as insulting than constructive just because of his style. Its a big reason why every company he's ever worked for, he ends up burning bridges really quickly.

Haven't done one of these in a while

ECW did you know: The Dudleyz didn't leave ECW because they weren't offered more money in 1999. They were essentially forced to. You might remember Heatwave 99 where D-Von and especially Bubba cut a ridiculous promo on the fans before the match. Bubba told an older female that she taught her daughter how to suck dick, among other things. Anyways, the cable companies told Paul Heyman that the Dudleyz were banned from appearing on ECW ppv and they'd drop them if they did.

So the Dudleyz left for the WWF.

Funny you mention the promo Gerty, as it was recently posted somewhere around here.

He also criticized owens ring attire, but I can't really blame him. I never thought I'd see a guy who dresses like a yard tard as champ either, but here we are.

Do people have problem with Samoa Joe's attire? The only difference is he doesn't wear a shirt

In a way, not surprised considering cable companies were very wary to begin with about carrying ECW stuff because of the promotion's rep.

Think Heyman made a few references or implied at how vulgar the Dudleys could get with the insults on the Rise & Fall of ECW dvd.

Question.... who were the dumbass parents that brought their young kids to an ECW show?! I noticed them in the front fucking row while Joel Gertner was talking. That had to been an awkward as fuck car ride home.

Bad News Gertner 08-30-2016 11:10 PM

Check out the Best of the Dudleyz released by ECW. There's footage from a House Show where some kid dropped from the balcony of the Hammerstein Ballroom to get at the Dudleyz. Bubba was losing his shit on the fans. It was amazing.

My favorite Santino moment is still when he was cutting a promo about how Stone Cold wasn't going to show up that night.

"There is not going to be a can of the ass whip being opened. Nobody is going to stomp a mud pie. JR is not going to reach the point of orgasm."

Fucking this. Funny how people still can't actually listen to the words Cornette actually says. I heard an interview with this guy Sam Roberts, and Cornette actually tells him exactly what he meant, and then Roberts is like "It's funny how Cornette has twisted this to fit his..." HOLY SHIT! Are people really that fucking dumb?

One looked like a bum, the other looked like a fighter.

Fignuts 08-31-2016 02:07 AM

Yeah, Samoa Joe wears kickboxer shorts which fit with his gimmick. I could pick up the same shorts owens wears for 8 bucks at walmart.

Honestly, I've gotten used to it, and I don't really care anymore, so whatever.

Like In Your House? Like Warzone? Come on brah. It's all the evolution of No Mercy.

Savio 08-31-2016 07:07 PM

No mercy was awesome, aside from frame rate issues could be the best wrestling game ever.

on the PS I'd say the series peaked at SYM/HCTP

I don't. I want it to be a realistic as possible.

They should make another All Stars game for people who want a more arcadey eexperience.

I'm hoping they really slow burn this HHH/Rollins feud until WrestleMania. I know it's tough in this age because of the amount of programming, but they could pull it off.

-Rollins demands answers on RAW for several weeks, to which HHH never shows up to confront him and he also ignores the question when asked by interviewers. Triple H is strictly NXT and does not show up on RAW or SD

-Rollins goes on to have various feuds, meanwhile the whole "Triple H is a coward" is threaded throughout a lot of his promo work.

-Rollins gets a shot at the Universal Championship at TLC (for argument's sake), to which Triple H yet again costs him the match.

-Rollins says he's done asking, he's going to find Triple H himself.

-NXT has a TakeOver special later that week (or month), and Triple H opens the show with his "WE ARE NXT" bit. Rollins runs through the crowd invasion style and puts a nasty beatdown on him and it causes a big pull apart.

-Triple H finally admits to the world that he's jealous of Seth, and refuses to let his protege actually surpass his success, as Seth is trying to claim a Championship that Triple H has never held.

-Add water, it could work

Thought the bullet point style would make it easier to read lol but yes please let's not see this match at Clash of Champions and be over by late October. PLEASE

For anyone interested, someone on /r/SquaredCircle is running a 64-song tournament to determine the best song CFO$ has done for WWE.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCirc..._your_fantasy/

Until around noon Eastern on Thursday, you can make predictions, and voting will start Thursday afternoon.

Obviously the final will be Roode vs. Nakamura.

Does anyone know if the interview Bryan did with Coach was kayfabed at all? He was saying the spot with Miz was unscripted for the most part and that they kind of just got into it.

Then Bryan didn't REALLY address it on Smackdown almost skirting the issue and transferring it all to Dolph Ziggler. Could see it all as being kind of organic and shit actually just getting out of hand, which is kind of awesome lol

House Show Bubba is the realest guy in the room.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 02:17 AM

I usually hate double champions, but I'd be feeling AJ Styles with the WWE and IC belts right now. Styles beats Ambrose at Backlash by burying that forearm into his fucking face. Dolph Ziggler wins the IC Title when he kicks Miz right in his smug mug. Ziggler comes out on SmackDown, looks at his IC Title and says that it sure is pretty, and it is a part of many great legacies, but he's done this song and dance before. He's won this title five times now -- everyone knows he's at this level, but he needs to prove that he can be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He needs to get AJ Styles in the ring, and he'll put his belt on the line to do it.

No Mercy is then headlined by AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler -- Title for Title. Dolph cuts promos heading into it about how he watched The Ultimate Warrior beat Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 6 and all that. Styles talks about how he's the best wrestler in the world and he's beaten John Cena and Dean Ambrose in back-to-back showings. Ziggler's done at No Mercy.

The two tear it down. Dolph maybe even gets a lucky Superkick off a Phenomenal Forearm attempt, but he kicks Styles out of the ring and can't capitalize. Styles eventually wins the match and walks out with both belts. Then you do whatever it was you were going to do with Dolph. Styles starts defending both belts at the same time. So their histories are continued, they're just both on AJ Styles. He takes both into the main event of WrestleMania with him.

The Miz being a fan of Mushroomhead is so obscure and out-of-nowhere, it's amazing.

Ha.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 07:39 AM

Triple H being the evil genius that he is, I imagine that he'd make Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns fight for the right to get their hands on him. Then he sends Braun Strowman out there to destroy them both at Clash of Champions. Or Gallows & Anderson.
