I enjoyed Havoc 96. Malenko v Mysterio ftw.

First ever WCW PPV I got on VHS though was Halloween Havoc 91 : Chamber of Horrors, when I was at school.

Its so LOL that it's great.

He lost his least-important bag.

So obviously his travel bag.

Wonder if he lost his title, lol.

Nightwing 01-21-2011 01:22 PM

World War 3. I like the battle royal matches where everyone is involved in general.

Nightwing 01-21-2011 01:28 PM

Id rather have Santino go after the streak.

Lock Jaw 01-21-2011 01:44 PM

The giant skeleton hands shaking the giant Halloween Havoc pumpkin is the greatest thing in the history of sports entertainment!

World War 3 was also damn good fun, if only for how the cruiserweights would utilize the extra rings earlier in the night.

I'm suprised you didnt say STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!

I always liked the concept of Road Wild. Saturday night, outdoor PPV, huge crowd interactions, good idea. I thought Road Wild 97 was a great card and for some reason I LOVED the match between Hulk Hogan vs Kevin Nash in 99. Of course it was Nash's 10th retirement match he lost but it had a great nostalgia feel to it.

I liked how WCWs cage went around the ring which gave some room for outside action inside the CAGE.

WCW's Thundercage and Triple Cage bottom tiers wobbled worse than any WWE cage I have seen. And the Hell in a Cell, which I know alot of people describe the Thundercage as the Hell in A Cell precursor, is alot sturdier than both the Thundercage and the Triple Cage.

WarGames (7/4/87 - 5/17/92)
Tower Of Doom (The Great American Bash, 7/10/88)
Sting and Ric Flair vs. The Great Muta and Terry Funk (Halloween Havoc, 10/28/89)
Sting, Dustin Rhodes, and Cactus Jack vs. Big Van Vader, Barry Windham, and Paul Orndorff (Clash Of The Champions, 1/13/93)
Sting, Brian Pillman, and Dustin Rhodes vs. Rick Rude, Steve Austin, and Paul Orndorff (SuperBrawl IV, 2/20/94)
Ric Flair vs. Vader (SuperBrawl IV, 2/20/94)

The rest really sucked...

Agree with all here except Flair vs. Vader and Ill replace it with Flair vs Rhodes (Great American Bash 1986 Tour, Dusty's final NWA World Title win)

Emperor Smeat 01-21-2011 06:16 PM

:wtf: I thought The Big Show didn't turn on the Corporation until after Mania in 1999 since he debuted in February and was on Vince's side against Austin for those couple of months.

Sad news would be about 1 month later is when Owen Hart died after that show.

XL 01-21-2011 06:26 PM

WM15 was held on March 28.

What were those belts the head bangers wore?

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-21-2011 06:41 PM

The Intergalactic Tag Team Championships of the Universe.

Aka two toy WWF tag team title belts.

XL 01-21-2011 07:04 PM

Anyways, I really liked the idea of HHH v Taker a few years back as it would be different to the match from WMX7 due to Taker's character. However, I'm not sure it would come off very well now due to the limitations Taker's (and perhaps HHH's) injuries have caused.

Also, this whole "they didn't even mention the streak until the last 4-5 years" is bogus. I watched WM13 the other night and they mentioned Taker being undefeated at Mania then - 14 years ago. Granted the massive hype is more recent but by no means "the last few years".

Anybody Thrilla 01-21-2011 07:14 PM

Who the fuck has ever called Sting "WCW's Deadman"?

Yeah I got some dates mixed up thinking Mania was in May for some strange reason while looking up what day Owen died since it was 1999.

God, one minute I hate everything, the next minute you can't tell if I like someone. At least keep your silly stories straight.

Unless that's part of your gimmick. Being too ridiculous for even one ridiculous line of thought.

You're still being gay. I said stop.

True, but I liked cages that can also let wrestlers fight outside the ring as well as inside.

Would have purchased anyway, but DDP hosting makes it 100 times better.

The Corre

What do you think about Wade Barretts new group?

Are they missing anything or anybody?

I'm interested in seeing the music and the merchandise since there is no leader, I figure they will all use the same music?

The Corre consists of Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson, and possibly a Michael Tarver.

Discuss.

#BROKEN Hasney 01-22-2011 09:51 AM

Just need Tarver in there and it will be mint. They'll all use the same awesome music and although the logo is pretty good, not sure how it will translate to t-shirt land.

Also loving Barrett's character. Admitting he made mistakes with Nexus and is rectifying that by not technically "leading" The Corre and giving Gabriel the shot against the WHC instead of himself.

Speaking of that match, I said it in the SD thread, but I love that Gabriel got a load of offense in and held his own against Edge before Corre were involved. It was a rookie mistake from the top that brought Edge back into it. Love Gabriels style.

Jackson is a beast and this will raise his stock. Needed a change, the squashing face wasn't really working.

Finally

Hanging out with a fellow black man. He stepped out to get him and Teddy a couple of grape juices and when he came back, he was down and hurt. I hope the real perpetrators are caught :shifty:

TheAdamEvansFan 01-22-2011 10:08 AM

Barrett said there is no leader, how long will that last? lol

#BROKEN Hasney 01-22-2011 10:21 AM

I think it will unless Zeke leaves. Can't see him wanting to be led if they book him smart.

Gabriel and Slater are easily led anyway, but I'll be glad if they come out of their shell. I'm putting some trust in Noid that Slater was pretty good back in FCW.
