Vikings reinstated Adrian Peterson after his 1 game punishment.

Vastardikai 09-15-2014 02:59 PM

So, violently beating the shit out of your child gets less of a punishment than smoking pot...

screech 09-15-2014 03:04 PM

Yay NFL!

Ruien 09-15-2014 03:07 PM

This was the Vikings reinstating him, The NFL has not punished him, yet.

Josh Gordon messed himself over because he CONSTANTLY had the same issues going on. The drug policy has just been redone. PLUS, if the rule book clearly states that you will receive a 8 game ban for smoking pot then why the heck are you doing it? That is on the idiotic player.

Nark Order 09-15-2014 05:08 PM

You're right in the fact that he knew the rules and took the risk. He deserves some sort of punishment. That fact remains though that marijuana being a banned substance is a ridiculously antiquated rule. It needs to be addressed. No matter how many offenses there are, it is a relatively harmless substance. Seems ridiculous that there could ever be a full season suspension for any marijuana related crime, really. (Except for maybe mass distribution)

Ruien 09-15-2014 06:24 PM

Oh it is. Agreed on that. Just can't stand when people bring up the "Well this rule does X amount of games and this rule does X amount". Especially when the NFL did not even punish Adrian (yet, as in he may be punished later). This was the Vikings doing, deactivating their player. Would just make sense to wait and see what the punishment actually is before complaining.

But the team has punished him so they can now defer it to next year.

McLegend 09-15-2014 08:52 PM

Got to get Touchdown's in the red zone.

Can and will are two different things.

Peterson now facing another child abuse allegation for another son he has with that one involving him beating the kid in the head.

Stop losing yards in the Red zone. So frustrating.

McLegend 09-15-2014 09:50 PM

Adrian Peterson needs to do 2 things.

1) Stop beating his kids.
2) Stop having children.

Then his problems will be solved

McLegend 09-15-2014 09:52 PM

That was a really nice interception.

McLegend 09-15-2014 11:33 PM

That was awesome.

The media just isn't going to let this go. They smell blood. They are going to rip and tear at it until it explodes. Somehow Adrian Peterson's attorneys and PR people have prevented this from destroying him thus far but Ray Rice is only going to be a story for another week or so and they are going to need somebody else to hang. Probably not looking good.

Don't beat your kids, y'all.

until next week when we find out andrew luck eats babies while they are still in the womb

Heisenberg 09-16-2014 10:15 AM

It'd be a different story if AP denied and ran from authorities. he did admit to going a little too old school on his son's ass. I think he should have to serve some punishment though. Especially in a world where discipline is gone and everyone is righteous.

Evil Vito 09-17-2014 10:22 AM

Peterson has been put on the exempt list and is now barred from all team activities until his legal issues have been resolved.

road doggy dogg 09-17-2014 11:23 AM

The big winners in all this are the people tired of hearing about Johnny Manziel

Innovator 09-17-2014 12:08 PM

Manziel has to be pissed theres no way he can be considered a "bad boy" now

Evil Vito 09-17-2014 12:09 PM

Of course, the Vikings are doing this now that they're faced with the threat of losing sponsorships. If not for that, Peterson would be playing this weekend.

Gotta love money.

I wonder if all these revelations would cause the death of his other son to get another look, just to make sure.

The Fraze 09-17-2014 01:09 PM

Thought the same thing. But wasn't the understanding of that situation that it was his ex's boyfriend and that Adrian wasn't even around?

Vastardikai 09-17-2014 01:41 PM

Allegedly. He could have went a little too far and they decided to let someone else take the fall.

Wasn't him who caused the death to occur although in a bit of irony he did help create a child abuse awareness charity after that incident. Not sure if he ever lashed out at the guy who did it for abusing his kid.

Also wasn't sure for a long time that he was the actual father.

These NFL players are real gems. I guess the fact that they can't even pronounce or say clearly the schools they went to hasn't been a sign.

between injuries and arrests fantasy football sucks so far this year

Emperor Smeat 09-18-2014 12:00 AM

Cards deactivated Dwyer indefinitely while he's been charged with hitting both his wife and child. Broke his wife's nose during the assault.

Reason it took this long was because the wife only filed charges last week and it took a while for the bulk of the investigations to be done. Still have more stuff being investigated.

Dwyer, 25, was booked into Maricopa County Jail on Wednesday on one count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage, one count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency, and assault.

Things don't get better for the Cards PR-wise since the player likely getting called up to replace Dwyer's spot also has a history of domestic violence problems.
Quote:

If Dwyer is shown the door, the Cardinals would be able to call on practice squad running back Chris Rainey to fill Dwyer’s spot on the 53-man roster. There is one problem, however. Rainey has previously been released from a team because of a domestic violence incident.

screech 09-18-2014 04:31 PM

Have any of these guys getting indefinite suspensions been removed from Madden also?

Droford 09-18-2014 09:04 PM

Buccaneers are awful

Fenix122 09-18-2014 09:15 PM

I hope the Bucs can score some points. Can't have Atlanta going conservative and costing Julio Jones and my team points.

road doggy dogg 09-19-2014 01:49 AM

jesus christ tampa

fucking embarassing showing

send them down to NCAA

screech 09-19-2014 05:58 AM

Julio Jones is ridiculous

Innovator 09-19-2014 09:21 AM

The Bucs...aren't good

Nark Order 09-19-2014 10:47 AM

Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal aren't going to be happy. They called Tampa being good.

road doggy dogg 09-19-2014 10:48 AM

They reversed-course and claimed to pick the wrong NFC South team and have rightly backed the Carolina Panthers bandwagon

Nark Order 09-19-2014 10:50 AM

I know, but the initial betrayal still has to hurt.

road doggy dogg 09-19-2014 11:11 AM

I'm not gonna pretend I didn't secretly think Tampa would be good too

Maybe I put too much stock in Lovie Smith

Continually kicking to Hester, who of all people Lovie should know how dangerous can be, was just baffling
