Fuck that! They can just update the original.

Lock Jaw 06-12-2022 02:04 PM

Would be honestly "cool" to just say "F it" and remake the original, but include things and characters that just plain didn't exist in continuity before. Maybe adapt some of the Marvel Comics that have been expanding the story in between the movies because they have been pretty cool. Release "A New Hope" remake/update, then Disney+ series about the time in-between movies, then "Empire Strikes Back" remake/update... etc

Then after Return of the Jedi, just throw out the new trilogy and remake that too.

Lock Jaw 06-12-2022 02:04 PM

They literally did retcon this one old dude with a beard in Return of the Jedi into being Captain Rex:

Re: Latest Obi-Wan episode

SPOILER: show
Holy poop Vader in this. Hot damn. Seen him rip an X-Wing out of the air in the comics but this was just badass seeing him do something like that in live action.

I don't see what Reva's plan was here.... wants vengeance on Vader, so becomes an inquisitor as a way to get close to him..... then is ruthlessly obsessed with drawing out Kenobi to get in Vader's good graces, so he wouldn't see it coming or something....

Then she finally gets Kenobi, he tells her that she should strike now because Vader will be blind with rage at him.... so she places Kenobi in an easily escapable situation where she isn't watching, then strikes at Vader only after he is no longer distracted by Kenobi.... dunno what she is playing at.

Not to mention earlier when they are trying to break down the door, she has them try to shoot it down..... but then instantly just cuts through it with her lightsaber. She's got a weird working style.

teamXtremist 06-17-2022 01:09 AM

lol why didn’t Vader just walk around the fire? Or better yet, he just forced pushed to blow out the fire like 10 seconds earlier, but now he’s like “welp nothing to be done about this fire, I guess we’ll just let Obi Wan escape” After the first episode I had my hopes up that it would at least be decent, but nope this thing is an absolute turd sandwich.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-17-2022 09:54 AM

He’s afraid of fire… and he doesn’t like sand…

Seanny One Ball 06-19-2022 03:07 PM

I decided to watch this Obi Wan show and it’s alright to be honest.
I tried to like Star Wars but never could get into it, I do like Darth Vader though and there’s plenty of him so far.

I enjoyed his show of force in the last episode. Was nice to get a look at his skills.

Seanny One Ball 06-19-2022 03:10 PM

There should be a Palpatine show done in the style of Saved By The Bell, they could name it “Palpa-Teen” and we could see how his adolescent acne outbreaks drove him to the dark side.

They could do a similar show about the origins of R2D2 and call it “Bot Meets World”.

I’m here if you’re hiring Disney.

Seanny One Ball 06-19-2022 03:12 PM

Darth Maul should also have his own show.
That’s not a joke though.

Have you seen Disney’s slates for Star Wars and Marvel? These don’t seem that unlikely.

Lock Jaw 06-19-2022 04:15 PM

I'd be down for a Palpatine HTD

Seanny One Ball 06-19-2022 04:32 PM

The intro theme would be “Last Resort” by Papa Roach

drave 06-20-2022 10:31 AM

Robot Chicken Star Wars does a pretty good job at poking fun at it.

You get your 7 foot 2 asthmatic ass back here or I'm gonna tell everyone what a whiney bitch you are about Padamame Panda Bear, or whatever the hell her name was!"

....

"Oh geez he's crying!!"

jesus, seen it before and it's still funny

Fignuts 06-20-2022 11:15 AM

I've watched it probably 20 times at this point.

Easily the best thing robot chicken has ever done.

Followed closely by Palpatine on the escalator.

Fignuts 06-20-2022 11:16 AM

"WHO'S THEY?!....What the hell is an aluminum falcon?"

drave 06-20-2022 02:10 PM

Without looking at the credits for that episode..... did Seth McFarlane do some voices?

I can only hear the Emperor as Quagmire..... and that kinda makes it funnier for me.

Seanny One Ball 06-20-2022 04:52 PM

The bit with the air conditioner made me laugh pretty hard.

If that isn’t Seth MacFarlane then it’s a stupendous impression.

McLegend 06-20-2022 05:09 PM

It is Seth McFarland.

Seanny One Ball 06-21-2022 05:32 AM

I think my enjoyment of the dark side has softened me to Star Wars as a franchise…

Obi Wan is a bit of a wank when it’s Ewan instead of Alec but that show is good stuff. Vader-wise it gives me everything I need. I just wish Palpatine was in it.

I also like The Mandalorian. That’s just classic Western stuff. #FreeGinaCarano

More just reminding him how he helped her dad years ago, and she needs his help now.

its heavy retcon. its not worth defending it. same with "last we met i was but a student. now i am the master." the show doesnt give two shits about continuity. and fair enough. just take it for what it is. the mental gymnastics needed to make this show work could burst your brain

Destor 06-21-2022 09:13 AM

if you can manage to ignore the horrid continuity youll find a pretty fun show

Destor 06-21-2022 09:14 AM

shout out to how innept the child playing leah is at running though. she doesnt run like a girl. she runs like a toddler whos barely mastered walking

Seanny One Ball 06-21-2022 10:08 AM

She acts like a fucking spastic though.

Bad child actor. Typical of Star Wars.
I bet because she’s a little girl in 2022 her life isn’t ruined like Jake Loyd. They will protect her from normality. Lots of safe spaces and fanny pads.

Destor 06-21-2022 10:49 AM

she has good inflection. most child actors, because theyre children and dont have a grasp on words let alone emphasis, really struggle with iit. but she's pretty good in that regard. dunno if its her acting coach or the director but she works. but anything physical becomes cartoonish. they should have shot around the issue no clue how they looked at the dailies and decided to ship it as is.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-21-2022 11:41 AM

I agree with Destor on Leia's running. It was...atrocious.

Also--I was being very forgiving with my post about Leia's message. I'm hoping Obi whips out the old memory wiper from MIB at the end to make everything right.

I'm still a bit underwhelmed by the show, continuity aside. Last episode was a step in the right direction but this should've just been a movie or something.

Destor 06-21-2022 01:05 PM

im hoping we can move forward with the franchise. the worl is rich. we dont have to have characters we know

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-21-2022 04:01 PM

That was the beauty of Mando. Someone new.

Destor 06-21-2022 04:09 PM

while being supremely familiar

Lock Jaw 06-21-2022 07:51 PM

One of the good things in The Last Jedi was seeing Canto Bight and the kind of "upper class" people of the galaxy.... I'd be interested in seeing more of the "upper class" since the low class scum/scoundrels/rebels/bounty hunters has been done....

A Lando series starring Donald Glover would be cool for that maybe... he's a scoundrel for sure, but he constantly gets in with the upper class (if only to swindle them)

Destor 06-22-2022 10:42 AM

finale really justifies the shows existence. weird to have the A plot resolved before the B plot when the A plot is the one the audience clearly is more invested in but its still good; they don't drag their feet on the B plot so its not a major issue. def deflates the momentum though.

Seanny One Ball 06-22-2022 11:31 AM

Why not do Lando Versus Mando because everybody loves rhyming names

Also why is the Mandalorian known as Mando anyway? It should be Manda… but I guess that’s too much like Amanda.

Enjoyed elements of the finale a lot but I don’t know if I feel fulfilled to where I needed this show more than another new character. The fight was badass, though. And the visual at the end (as well as the sound of a certain someone’s voice) of the big fight was cool.

I feel the first few eps plodded along too much to be forgiven despite me having fun watching Ewan doing his thing.

Destor 06-22-2022 12:06 PM

i think the journey was wortth the destination

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-22-2022 12:36 PM

Tbh I just felt like it was a good episode of Bad Batch, which isn’t good enough imo.

Fignuts 06-22-2022 01:20 PM

Last two episodes were good.

Alrhough, I'm not really sure why he leaves Vader alive, but okay. Guess leia annoyed him enough were hes hoping vader goes out and murders more children.

Destor 06-22-2022 01:49 PM

he leaves him alive because he's not a sith

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-22-2022 01:59 PM

Yeah. And seeing Anakin's face filled him with conflicting emotions since he essentially raised him. It plays in nicely to how he was insistent that Luke needed to take him out since he himself failed to do it and it twice when he easily could've and it led to more suffering across the galaxy.

Seanny One Ball 06-22-2022 04:33 PM

Imagine getting a man’s son to kill him because you find it too harrowing yourself lol.

That’s some funny stuff. Millions will die because Jedi’s are terrible at finishing what they started.

It was pretty cool though. I mean that wee speech at the end of the duel was Grade A Vader shit. I watched it a few times because he looked more evil than ever before. Good times.

BY FAR my favourite moment of the series. Fuck did it look and sound cool.
