I also like that tech geek girl who has been in a few episodes. Show needs more of her. Ollie should bring her into the fold as his "Oracle" down the line. Theoretically he should not have become a computer wizard on a "deserted" island. So he will need someone to do tech stuff for him.

It isn't entirely inexplicable he's not inept on computers... he was just more concerned with blowing money and banging anything with a uterus. He just isn't 100% up on pop culture. But, having more extensive help couldn't hurt. |
Unrelated to what I just said: everytime the stepfather is in a scene, I keep thinking that he would somehow make an awesome Darkseid in some other incarnation of a Superman show. He just kinda has that presence.

DC has announced 52 variant covers for its upcoming Justice League of America #1. Gotta catch 'em all.
Well damn.
Count Vertigo will appear in Arrow. Unlike Smallville, this is turning into a who's-who of C-D level villains, which is cool.
Ah yes... Martian Manhunter and his love for Oreos.
There was an entire issue of Martian Manhunter where Blue Beetle and Booster Gold stole all of his cookies, which caused him to lose control and go on a rampage. |
admittedly, I'm new to the DC universe ( I only started paying REAL attention after playing DCUO), but I never heard of this. Must Learn.. More...
During the early 90s, the Justice League International was often times lighthearted and humorous in nature.
During that time, the Martian Manhunter gained a fondness for Oreo cookies. In his own series much later (2000? 1999?), there is an issue with a flashback to the JLI days where he tells the story of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold stealing his cookies, which turns him into a Hulk-like monster on a rampage for cookies. |
Miss old JLI :( Booster and Beetle were amazing together.
It was also referenced in Smallville, an oreo cookie literally preceded his reveal.
Jesus this is awesome. Im going to make a small confession. I purposefully refused to watch smallville. kinda feel like a dumbass now. gonna fix this soon.
One reason I'm realizing the error of my ways is this new show Arrow. Fuck it's good and I just saw somebody really awesome from the rogues gallery. |

It was only five years ago, I think he can catch up on iPads pretty quickly.
But all the hacking and digital tracking and stuff... that isn't easy to learn. Probably not something he knew anything about before the island either.
Anyways.... Isn't Eddie Fyers an ally of Green Arrow in the comics? |
Not too versed with Ollie in the books.
Wiki says he was a CIA operative who butted heads with Ollie, but would eventually become "begrudging allies". He would then apparently be a Mentor/Father Figure of Connor Hawke (Ollie's son) while Ollie was dead.

DC/Vertigo is cancelling Hellblazer with #300. There goes its longest running title. I didn't think it was long for this world since Constantine is in the DCnU now.
Sure enough, it will be replaced by a "Constantine" series set in the mainstream universe. Hellblazer fans are already bemoaning the PG-Era of Constantine before it begins, and wistfully reflecting on the good ol' days. :shifty: |
...DAMN IT THAT'S YOUR COUSIN!
Only in a parallel universe, so it is all good.
CLARK BLOCKED by the Goshdarn Batman!
That is glorious.
I've heard that Red Hood and the Outlaws has improved since its initial controversy. Can anyone verify this?
I have read it up to issue #9... and it was still one of the worst things ever.
DC has canceled Young Justice. The comic book series based on the animated series, that is. Probably does not bode well for the animated series, though. Not that I really expected a third season anyways.
Fuck here we go a-fucking-gain.
......GOD DAMN IT!
It's like a series of horrible relationships; after a while you don't even bother because you know it will end suddenly. Why get invested? I stopped watching Thundercats for precisely this reason, I knew there would be no payoff awesome as it is. Months after my decision it was canned.
Word is that once DC inevitably cancels the Young Justice animated series, it will be replaced by....
Saturday Morning Watchmen <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YDDHHrt6l4w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
The gag that poked fun at adaptations? Nah.
It'll be replaced by something that has Babs Gordon killing Cassandra and Stephanie in a brutal yet oddly sexy Batgirl mud fight. |

J'onn in the background with the massive plate of cookies. He is ruin'd for life!
Lil' Gotham update: In the Thanksgiving edition, Barbara Gordon is Oracle, and Cassandra Cain is present. No sign of Stephanie Brown.
Beras a dyke.
I imagine most Amazonians are.
Man Bruce is awesome!
THE GOSHDARN BATMAN!!!
Also, Bera in relation to everyone else around her reminds me of Mari from Project A-Ko. |
Is she a known Amazonian?
Never heard of Bera or Kyri.
Then again, I am not hugely knowledgeable on Wonder Woman. |
I just figured if the author went through the trouble of naming them they must be a nod to something from Wonder Woman. Maybe we'll see Artemis, though.
Could not find anything in my search of google.
Based on a quick skim of a DC wiki, doesn't look like they're actual characters from the comics.
Then it would be an honor if they were to pop up in the official universe, though it seems like something more likely before DCnU.
I don't know why you would even have that thought.
It seems likely that the Batman in the coming Justice League film will be the Batman who 'rose' in a recent epic movie. Take this as you will.
Dear God, no. The Nolan universe should be left alone.
He's the Goshdarn Batman.
And he's awesome.
I love this comic strip so friggin much. I haven't anticipated a strip like this since I got into The Boondocks
Also, Arrow is great this week. Last week was an interesting twist on the Royal Flush Gang. This week is great. I know China White, but I'm not sure if the 'damsel in distress/tortured soul' is exclusive to the show.
I also love the little relationship/love triangle involving Ollie and Merlin. SHit's gonna get epic in a few. |
holy shit that's the huntress!!! This show is great
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's pwnage.
just noticed the donkey is eeyore

Man of Steel director Zack Snyder hinted that the Superman film, due out June 14, 2013 (see "Warners Flogs 'Man of Steel'"), will lead into Warners’ Justice League (see "Warner Bros. Slates 'Justice League' Movie for 2015") in an interview with the New York Post. The Post asked Snyder whether he’d been talking to the studio "...about integrating Man of Steel into a larger superhero universe," and got a non-denial denial. "I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler," Snyder said. "I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course."

Why Iris? That just seems unnecessary.
Probably because they want to "save" Wonder Woman for their supposed Justice League movie, so they are just verrrry loosely borrowing some ideas for the "Amazon" show.
Okay, apparently, they're not changing her name to Iris, but just using a code name to try and prevent speculation. Which, considering that Wonder Woman is one of the most easily recognizable superheroes in pop-culture history, is like doing a Batman TV show and trying to keep the Bruce Wayne role a secret by changing his name to Dan.
yah
Wasn't there a "replacement" Wonder Woman for a short time in the comics? I think her name was Artemis or something?
I know I have seen pics of Artemis going around in a Wonder Woman costume before. No idea the context of the story, though.
Yeah, Artemis replaced Diana as WW for a little bit back in the 90s, and weirdly enough, Diana was her sidekick. It was very stupid.

Manu Bennett, a fan favorite from the Spartacus TV series, will portray Slade Wilson in the CW’s Arrow TV series. As comic fans are well aware, Slade Wilson is the alter ego of Deathstroke, a major DC villain created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez in The New Teen Titans #2 in 1980. The Deathstroke character has already made an appearance on Arrow where he was seen in costume (played by another actor) in a very brief flashback scene.
Bennett will appear as Slade Wilson in multiple episodes of Arrow, some of which will include flashbacks to the South Pacific island of Lian Yu where Oliver Queen and Wilson were marooned together and formed an uneasy alliance. According Entertainment Weekly, Wilson will continue to appear as the Gaul Crixus in the final season of the Spartacus TV series, while filming multiple episodes of Arrow for this season. No word yet on when Bennett’s Slade Wilson will shed his normal identity and get in costume as Deathstroke/Terminator. Bennett, who is from New Zealand, will also play an Orc Chieftain in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit films. |
I find myself (most specifically with Bruce) picturing a combination of the "child" voices from that one episode of Justice League when they got turned into kids and those Arby's commercials where they pitch up the adult voices to make them sound like kids on a playground instead of adults in an office (for pretty much everyone else besides Clark and Diana).
Yeah I imagine the JLU kids episode voices. For those that weren't there; I imagine Power Girl having a husky though less zany Honey Boo Boo voice, J'onn having a smoother low black kid's voice, Barry(Wally?) having a fast ADHD voice, and Hal having a mature toned balanced voiced.

Man of Steel costume still looking like trash. Material seems fit for Aquaman.
Looks fine to me. The 'thick scuba suit' thing is kinda the norm for movie superhero costumes and even gets fair explanation in the recent Spider-Man movie. I don't think there's a way around it, unless you want something kinda whacky looking in the vein of Kick-Ass (which is telling in that his attire was almost parody).

LOL, perfect

Lil Hal and J'on playing Star Fox makes sense, and it seems there's one thing Flash isn't fast enough for.
Found it pretty lol

That was pretty good. I can buy Bane as a nutrition freak.
So I got The Dark Knight Rises on Tuesday, and I still like it. The ending fight with Batman and Bane is my favorite part of the movie.
However I watched the Dark Knight yesterday it's been like 6 months since I've seen, and it is so good. The movie never slows done, and it never lets up. Just great scene after great scene. It's the closest thing to a perfect movie. I love it so much. |
