But the Texans already had a running back and needed to stop Peyton Manning, according to their logic, therefore they drafted according to what they perceived to be their needs.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-07-2007 11:47 PM

If the Lions take Quinn then Kitna can mentor him just like Carson Palmer. That seemed to work out well.

RP 01-08-2007 12:46 AM

LOL Milen is taking Calvin Johnson.

Nah, the Jets had a pretty good chance to win that game. Though the Patriots have a legit chance to win the Super Bowl again, it's not like they are superfreaks or anything.

Also I can see someone like the 49ers trying to trade up and go for Johnson, I really can. They have a ton of draft picks they've got stocked up and atm WR is like the only offensive skill position they're lacking at.

Gonzo 01-08-2007 12:31 PM

If they get a good WR in San Fran, they could be dangerous. Vernon Davis was injured a good part of the year, so if he pans out, Frank Gore keeps playing well and Alex Smith keeps on the up and in they are going to rise back up.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-08-2007 02:44 PM

I thought that regardless of records all the teams that made the playoffs would draft after the teams that didn't make the playoffs but that list has the Giants ahead of Denver.

D Mac 01-08-2007 03:21 PM

Go Saints! Or Eagles I guess. Either one.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-08-2007 03:41 PM

Calvin Johnson offically declared for the NFL draft. Dude should go #1, he is going to be the best player from this draft. 4.4 40 time, 45 inch vert and a monster on the field too - not just a work out freak.

He also isn't a head case or egomaniac or anything. Pretty sure both his parents have their PhDs (or atleast his mom) so he has a pretty solid base, dude seems like about as much of a sure thing as you can get in the NFL Draft.

Chiefs and Gonzalez agree in Principle to a Five-Year Contract Extension
Jan 12, 2007, 9:23:22 AM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Friday that TE Tony Gonzalez agreed in principle to a five-year contract extension. As per Chiefs policy, no further terms of the agreement were announced.

“Simplistically, we’re very pleased to get this done,” Peterson said. “It will, in all essence, allow Tony Gonzalez to finish his career with the Kansas City Chiefs. The obvious is he’s been a very, very productive player for us. I think for our fans in Kansas City it was important for us to get this done. He’s done a marvelous job for us both on and off the football field.”

I can't decide who I want the Vikings to take, Johnson or Ginn. From what I hear, Johnson sounds like the better player, but I think I have a bias towards Ginn becuase of his speed and because I have seen him before. It is so clear to me that the Vikings need a WR, and there is nothing on the FA market this year, but I can see them missing out on this opportunity and drafting another d-lineman or something. BAH.

I dunno I think it is Johnson over Ginn pretty easily. Johnson is a much better wideout

I am hoping a good wideout slips to the Patriots, there is a lot of good talent in the draft this year and the Patriots currently have two first rounders. I am thinking linebacker and wideout for those two picks

BCWWF 01-13-2007 07:36 AM

Didn't the Pats take a wideout pretty high in the last year or two?

Crippla 01-13-2007 07:58 AM

They took Chad Jackson as their second first round pick this year...

RP 01-13-2007 10:07 AM

Here's something interesting i just found out. Brett Farve just needs 25 td's to break Marino's record. You think that might be an indication that he comes back?

Kris P Lettus 01-13-2007 10:21 AM

You're just now finding that out??

Well, I prolly wouldn't have watched analysts shows the second half of the season either, if I was a Colts fan..

Crippla 01-13-2007 10:24 AM

Lol, yeah. Can Brett even throw 25 touchdowns a season anymore(to his own team)? Rofl. And yes, I could only see him coming back for one season at the most.

Crippla 01-13-2007 10:26 AM

Seriously though, I don't think he'll come back. He didn't play consistantly all season and he's already a lock for the hall of fame imo. There would be just as much of a chance of him not breaking the record if he came back anyway. I just don't see it.

Nervous Ferret 01-13-2007 01:49 PM

Still have no clue who to root for this year. Anyone but the Colts and Pats I guess (lol CC's superbowl)

I'm KINDA an Eagles fan but not really, only cause all the stupid gay Giants fans hate them
Obviously the Saints are like everybodys 2nd favorite team this year, dunno though. There is something about them I just don't like.
I picked the Seahwaks to win the Superbowl preseason, so that would be pretty cool. BUT, I don't like th Seahawks at all.
Bears are alright to I guess, I would def be rooting for them this year if they didn't seem like a bunch of derrilicts at times

AFC don't care as long as it's Chargers or Ravens

JUST TO let you guys gauge my feelings on the remainder of the postseason

If it was over 2 min. I could understand it. You'd still have the 2 min. warning. But under 2 min. You'd have to drop them 3 and out and still would'nt have much time to do anything.

I've completely forgotten now how far back they were, but I would think that even being willing to take a shot at a potential game tying field goal would be better than punting it back. This one is a total mystery to me.

D Mac 01-13-2007 11:21 PM

Well they have all the off season to think about it.

UmbrellaCorporation 01-13-2007 11:25 PM

To be honest, I've got no beef with the Eagles. They played an awesome ass game, and I'm glad I recorded this one. Was pretty much a roller coaster ride on many levels. But I'd be lying if I said that Andy Reid's playcalling made sense to me a lot of the time. Not saying I could do it better, and I'm sure he got to where he's at by making some good decisions, but this one is really bugging me. Guess I should just focus on the fact that we're heading to the NFC Championship! Hope it's against Seattle too. Personal opinion though.

Skippord 01-13-2007 11:25 PM

If the Bears lose tomorrow I will have no reason to watch football till next year
