Yeah that's not good.

i would like to see sting cost taker the match maby against one of the young wrestling heels that would start a mini fued with taker and sting over the summer. that would go with hbk screwjob and wcw nwo angle year.

How did NXT find out about Steve Blackman being a tpww icon?

Xero 01-20-2011 09:26 PM

Probably my Steve Blackman sign 2 years ago.

That was as far as I got into the 'article'.

He stole the news article from the PWTorch

Providing that The Undertaker is healthy enough to compete in a singles match at WrestleMania XXVII, there has been talk of "The Deadman" facing his opponent at WrestleMania X-Seven, Triple H.

Shawn Michaels as the bout's special guest referee has also been discussed. He recently stated that he reached a new contractual agreement with WWE, but would not be returning the ring as a wrestler. He did not, however, rule out special appearances or becoming an on-air character at some point.

CSL 01-20-2011 09:51 PM

There's a surprise. It's tough work making shit up or just staight taking it from somewhere else, especially when you're brain damaged.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-20-2011 09:59 PM

Are we talking about Rhino Clark?

I just saw it here on TPWW and wanted some feedback from wrestling fans.

Fignuts 01-20-2011 10:05 PM

I am okay with this.

Dunno, at this point I feel like anyone else except a veteran main eventer would be underwhelming.

Ok, we go from two amazing matches with shawn michaels to...Wade Barret? Shaemus?

No thank you.

MoFo 01-20-2011 10:08 PM

I want Cena or Sting.

Not rly interested in Taker's match otherwise.

Nicky Fives 01-20-2011 10:13 PM

Barrett or Sheamus should face Taker, with both of them losing......

Their job is to make you interested, which means there must be a good story behind it.

Its got to be Barrett, somehow. It could end up being the whole "Corre" group. This would allow Taker to get the shit beat out of him the whole match, there by having to exert little effort himself, and still come out looking like a monster by winning the match.

Of course, this would probably kill the Corres momentum, but when has WWE ever cared about that?

Exactly. I liked that match. I would like to see more of these matches.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-20-2011 11:22 PM

Ok how about this?

Undertaker and BIG SHOW team up vs The Corre

Originally you see Ezekiel vs Show but then his goons come down to help him when Show overtakers him.

Lights go out, and the storyline to Wrestlemania begins. Maybe you'll have Undertaker, Big Show, and their muscle Kimbo Slice vs The Corre.

Shisen Kopf 01-20-2011 11:24 PM

The only person who should end the streak is The Rock or Stone Cold but they ain't coming back

TheAdamEvansFan 01-20-2011 11:27 PM

lol @ The Rock or Stone Cold...

Dude... No.

They don't need to end the streak.

That'd be pointless.

BigDaddyCool 01-20-2011 11:30 PM

HHH is the greatest of all time. Deal with it.

Fox 01-20-2011 11:30 PM

Makes sense that after two solid HBK versus Undertaker WM performances in a row, Triple H, HBK's best buddy, would want a piece of that "legendary action status" as well, even it means doing the job.

Fine by me, just so long as it doesn't main event. One of the younger guys deserves the big spot this year, whether it's Miz or Del Rio or even Orton or Cena.

Still, I'm actually kind of interested in seeing a brutal Sheamus/HHH rematch in a Street Fight or something along those lines.

Aguakate 01-20-2011 11:32 PM

NO ONE is going to end the streak, people...understand it one and for all.

Having HHH go against Undertaker is good because since Undertaker has been out injured, and by the time he comes back they would have to basically get an angle up and going quickly, and having Hunter be that person who goes against 'Taker ensures WWE that the angle will work, because they're 2 legends who have been around the block before.

Snowden 01-20-2011 11:35 PM

If he comes back before WM, it would be patently silly for him to not go after Kane and/or Wade Barrett, the two men that put him out. With Kane, they can always write him out of the storyline and do some strange paranormal shit...but with Barrett and the then Nexus helping in his burial, Taker HAS to face Barrett.

Then next year at Mania, play up a broken and battered Taker going into his final match, win lose or draw, with the streak on the line against possibly his greatest opponent yet...John Cena.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-20-2011 11:36 PM

I see what they would do.

They'd spin it off the Undertaker beating HBK, and triple h wanting revenge.

However, if TRIPLE H is coming back to do a run with Sheamus anytime soon, I don't see the logic in having him blurred as a face/heel.

It's just not logical.

I don't see Undertaker doing a singles match at WM either.

I see him tagging with Big Show vs The Corre.

I see trips going against Sheamus with a King of WWE type of hype.

Shisen Kopf 01-20-2011 11:45 PM

Adam Evans should end the streak

Like continuity matters in WWE. They could play up a "grieving friend" deal, completely ignoring that Trips didn't give a shit about Taker/Michaels until...Two weeks before Mania when the hype starts.

I'm not saying this JUST to be snarky, mind.

BollywoodSingh 01-21-2011 12:16 AM

Somebody needs to end the streak otherwise it's a waste of almost 20 years. I'd have Barrett do it but it needs to be an epic feud, not something thrown together like it seems it has been.

screech 01-21-2011 12:30 AM

How is it a waste if the streak doesn't end?

TheAdamEvansFan 01-21-2011 12:40 AM

I think he meant that the streak can really put over an upcoming star if they were to break it.

Which is why many on this forum are against established wrestlers from breaking it, as they are already over.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-21-2011 01:00 AM

I liked WCWs Cages better than WWEs.

I know that's hard to pinpoint as WWE uses many different cages over the years.

I just hate seeing the cage wobble or fall apart like it did when Paul Wright tore it apart.

I liked how WCWs cage went around the ring which gave some room for outside action inside the CAGE.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-21-2011 01:03 AM

Favorite WCW PPV

What was your favorite WCW PPV?

I use to enjoy watching Starrcade.

TheAdamEvansFan 01-21-2011 01:11 AM

I miss when Armageddon and Starrcade use to feud back n forth for ultimate supremacy.

DLVH84 01-21-2011 01:23 AM

My favorite WCW Cage matches...

WarGames (7/4/87 - 5/17/92)
Tower Of Doom (The Great American Bash, 7/10/88)
Sting and Ric Flair vs. The Great Muta and Terry Funk (Halloween Havoc, 10/28/89)
Sting, Dustin Rhodes, and Cactus Jack vs. Big Van Vader, Barry Windham, and Paul Orndorff (Clash Of The Champions, 1/13/93)
Sting, Brian Pillman, and Dustin Rhodes vs. Rick Rude, Steve Austin, and Paul Orndorff (SuperBrawl IV, 2/20/94)
Ric Flair vs. Vader (SuperBrawl IV, 2/20/94)

The rest really sucked...

Aguakate 01-21-2011 01:29 AM

Exactly. Not on the streak ending part, however.

Kane Knight says Sheamus vs Taker would be epic. Evidence enough that the word "epic" is grossly overused.

A match with Sheamus would be good. Probably great even. But epic? No.

People say the streak doesn't matter because they only recently put attention on it. It's true that the streak was never given much attention until around 4 or 5 years ago. That is irrelevant. What matters is that in those few years they have turned the streak into a monster. A monster that is bigger than the world titles. A monster too big to end, just for the sake of putting some up and comer over. Especially considering that anyone young guy who they would consider ending the streak, would be good enough to get over without it.

Even if taker retires with the streak intact, it's become too big to end with a match against someone like Barret or Sheamus. Given how often Taker gets injured these days, and how limited his schedule is, any given wrestlemania could be his last. If the matches against Michaels did one thing, they set a precident. Any wrestlemania match with taker, has to be epic. Not the internet's definition of epic. Truly epic.

That epic atmosphere of the matches; That air around the matches that suggested "This is one you will remember all the way to your grave", had a lot to do with the fact that taker's opponent was just as revered and respected as he was. I don't think they will ever top the Michaels matches, but you can at least get that epic feeling with a guy like Triple H, or Sting.

Sheamus and Barrett could have the match of their lives with Taker, but it won't capture the feel of the previous two matches.

Xero 01-21-2011 01:39 AM

Thank you, whoever did that. I love you.
