If that's true, those matches are not 'must see' - but to be fair, that is my reaction every single year when I hear the rumored WM upper card matches. A lot of what makes WM is the lower card, which I think will be pretty great next year. I'd be very, very surprised if WWE held off on bringing in Shinsuke to RAW once 2017 rolls in.
I say this every year, but come on we don't really need Triple H or Undertaker hogging main event matches any more. Mad respect to both of 'em for their careers and accomplishments, but come Wrestlemania I wish they'd fuck off and let some younger guys take the spotlight.
If anything, I was looking forward to a Seth Rollins - Triple H bout at next year's Mania.
Yeah if it's not against Seth Rollins I give zero fucks about watching Triple H wrestle again.
HHH is a really good wrestler though. I'd put him in the all-time great list.

I would be fine with a HHH vs Seth Rollins match and I think it would be really good. Personally, I hope Taker is done, unless he has one final match against Cena maybe. |

Unless Undertaker faces Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania and loses clean to put him over SUPER strong in his first big PPV match, I don't want to see him again.... then again, I've said that since he lost to Brock, it killed all my desire to see him comeback....
I keep hearing that Kane is close to retiring now, so if that now yearly rumour is true, then why not have Undertaker vs Kane at WrestleMania when Kane announces his retirement and it'll be the final match for both guys?
Because everyone here will complain and whine about it happening.

Guys the decision is in less than 2 days! We will find out if Miniak will join team F*** THE WORLD or if she will fight against them! Any ideas or predictions? I can't see Miniak wearing an FTW shirt and teaming with Innovator and Xacutor, that's like having Bret Hart as part of DX. What I think may happen is that she will say she will join but then turn on them and beat them down. Can't wait for this Saturday on Carnage! WHAT WILL MINIAK DECIDE? |
I wouldn't mind Kane vs Undertaker at Mania if it was both their last match. That or Sting.

If I remember correctly, Triple H was the one who pushed for the old school heel style match against Reigns at Mania. Think the idea was if the regular WWE style wasn't helping Reigns, maybe going back to a classic style that made crowds hate heels would work.
Turns out it didn't and a really bad idea to do since the rest of Mania really dragged along outside of a few moments. By the time the main event occurred, the crowd just wanted the whole thing to end. |
If I recall their match wasn't bad other than people not liking Reigns.. HHH pretty much put on a wrestling clinic until it came time for Reigns to get his stuff in and win the match. I'd be fine with a HHH match at Mania as long as the story is right.
Quote:
Which made Reigns look that much weaker. HHH "putting on a clinic" and Reigns essentially hit his "5 Moves of Doom". :shifty::n::wavesad::nono: |
That isn't a dig at HHH either - he did EVERYTHING he could to put Reigns over. Top it off with the insanely boring "I'm just THE guy" thing that was blander than early Rest Hold Randy Orton.
Feels like the crowd might have been more appreciative if the match happened earlier in the show and have Taker-Shane close out Mania instead. Dirtsheets were teasing for a while the WWE was really worried about Mania ending in a chorus of boos and yet they stubbornly went ahead with it being last.
Either that or cut out like half the time given since the crowd stopped caring early on considering Mania was already around 4 hours long (6 hours with pre-show) by the time it started and Mania itself wasn't that good overall. |
Yea.... as much fun as live events are, let alone WM - 6 hours is enough to run the energy out of most people.
STILL cannot get behind Reigns. Rusev however, is gaining the traction he should have NEVER lost because of his loss to Cena. He should have continued to destroy shit and been a monster heel right now. |

Good stuff from Ziggler there. I really hope he loses at Summerslam and turns heel, leading to a prolonged program with Ambrose and possible even a title win. Love Ziggler, but he's so stale as a face. His motives for being a heel are there. Make it happen!
I skipped this week. Is this how SummerSlam is looking:
Bigger Than Two Supranational Title Matches Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton WWE World Championship Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler WWE Universal Championship Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor John Cena vs. AJ Styles WWE Women's Championship Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte United States Championship Rusev (c) vs. Roman Reigns WWE Tag Team Championship The New Day (c) vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows Intercontinental Championship The Miz (c) vs. Apollo Crews Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass Cesaro vs. Sheamus |

Great promo "C is for Cookie is good enough for me!"

It was hard to know from the start, but I really feel that Charlotte and Sasha Banks should be heading up opposite brands. Charlotte and Banks both have that "star quality" that can carry a division. Whether it's as a face or a heel, there's no real room past Banks on whatever roster she's on, unless it is against her. She's got to be the top slot. If she's on the same show as Charlotte, then she needs to be a face, which means that Bayley will need to be on the other show, which pushes Becky out of relevance.
In hindsight, it seems pretty obvious to me that the core divisions for the ladies would feature a swap between Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. I guess the same thing could be achieved if Charlotte leaves RAW and takes up residence on SmackDown. Maybe she could claim she never lost the Divas Championship and head there with that belt? If they really do want to move away from the "Diva" branding altogether (I'm not sure that they entirely do), then they can redesign the title and have its history become something else. |

I find it stupid that Cena is leaving for quite a bit of time and they put him over Styles anyway.

Yeah but I think Mr. Ziggles is done after SummerSlam.
Yeah, Ziggler probably start a feud with Bray after Summerslam.
I meant done as in released. I think this them giving him a final shot before saying best of luck in your future endeavors.
Oh, is that just your gut feeling or have you heard something? I wouldn't mind him leaving and doing something like Del Rio did and comeback in about a year. I still think Cody Rhode will be back eventually as well.
Gut feeling. Feels like a swan song.
It appears that nobody is ever really done with the WWE...except Jeff Jarrett.
They would not push him into a Summerslam main event if he was done afterwards.
As it is promoted and booked the main event is Brock Lesnar Vs. Randy Orton.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt actually does make sense after SummerSlam. Dolph loses, Bray shows up and tries to get into his head about not having what it takes to win the big one. Basically the Daniel Bryan/Bray Wyatt story with a guy that isn't sky-rocketing past it.
That would leave someone to mock Randy Orton about losing to Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles to challenge Dean Ambrose -- or a Triple Threat program between Ambrose, Orton & Styles. The Triple Threat probably makes the most sense. You'll likely have Baron Corbin going after Apollo Crews and the IC Title. The Miz and Kalisto could be left to tango in the mid-card. American Alpha and The Usos to crown new Tag Team Champions. Becky Lynch and Natalya will do their best to bring the other women on SmackDown up. Samoa Joe will likely be called up. Maybe they do Cena vs. Joe at Backlash to get it out of the way and write Cena off. Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt John Cena vs. Samoa Joe WWE Doubles Championship of the Galaxy The Usos vs. American Alpha Intercontinental Championship The Miz (c) vs. Kalisto Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews Six-Woman Tag Team Elimination Match Becky Lynch, Naomi & Carmella vs. Natalya, Alexa Bliss & Eva Marie Goodbye Alberto Match Alberto Del Rio vs. Heath Slater I changed my mind and had Miz keeping the IC Title past SummerSlam and Corbin and Crews fighting elsewhere because the IC Title is basically an anchor anyway. |
I'm actually looking forward to the brand split PPVs more than the big collective ones. The company is going to need to create mid-card storylines with some sort of direction in order to fluff them out. The wrestling will be fresh and unique in many cases. I don't expect them to be "blow-away," but I do expect them to be solid and interesting shows.
Steel Cage Match for the Women's Championship Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte Six-Man Tag Team Match Seth Rollins, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Finn Balor, Kofi Kingston & Big E Triple Threat Match for the United States Championship Roman Reigns (c) vs. Rusev vs. Cesaro Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens Cruiserweight Championship Sami Zayn vs. Neville Sheamus vs. Darren Young Jinder Mahal vs. Sin Cara You Will Behave Paige Match Nia Jax vs. Paige Curtis Axel vs. Zack Sabre, Jr. Enzo & Big Cass vs. The Shining Stars -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got a bit lazy towards the end there, Enzo & Cass could do something "bigger," but they're also a good warm-up act and there would be a lot going on near the top of this show. Epico y Primo are good workers who can beat on Enzo for a bit. Axel vs. Zack Sabre, Jr. is just a way to get Sabre out there with a guy that can put over his holds and the frustration of not being able to keep up with him well. Some of these cruiserweights need to beat heavyweights to prove that they belong. Paige does her best to make Nia Jax look tremendous. Jinder Mahal is an angry Indian guy beating up a Mexican that people are supposed to like. These guys go way back to developmental together and could probably do good work in order to put Mahal over. Sheamus vs. Darren Young could be your typical bully/underdog program. I wouldn't be in a rush to put Young over though. Maybe Sheamus gets Young in a Texas Cloverleaf and Backlund throws in the towel or something? Zayn and Neville try to steal the show to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion. Zayn would probably be better off without the title whereas Neville would have a harder time getting over without it, but at some point you need to give something to Zayn. Maybe Neville wins it first and then Zayn gets it next? Owens and Jericho have a spat after their loss to Enzo & Cass at SummerSlam and it turns out that they don't have each other's backs. This would deliver both in the ring and on the mic and would be one of the more heavily promoted matches. Owens can win, but there's still part of me that wants to see Jericho enlist The Dudleys as his pissed off veteran allies. That can happen on RAW though. Reigns wins the US Title at SummerSlam, Rusev wants it back, Cesaro beats Sheamus and earns a shot and is sick of being glossed over. I imagine they'd work well together and deliver a pretty damn good match actually. They probably wouldn't be ready to take the US belt off Reigns if they just put it on him. Rollins enlists the services of The Club to help him win the Universal Title at SummerSlam. The Demon has been betrayed. Gallows & Anderson also take the WWE Tag Team Titles off The New Day at SummerSlam. "The Champions of the Universe" find themselves on the defensive from Balor & The New Day, but numbers dictate Xavier Woods needs to sit out of their arranged main event. Rollins uses this opportunity to try and get into Woods' head -- "You're a smart man, Xavier. You know I'm the guy to be beside." They seem to like playing up conflicted Xavier. Woods re-affirms his babyface status at the PPV and helps the good guys win and earn title rematches. Sasha Banks and Charlotte headline the show in a blow-off to their Women's Championship feud. Bayley helps fend off Dana Brooke at SummerSlam, but the numbers are neutralized now. I've got this as a Cage Match, but it could be a Ladder Match or even just a straight-out match between the two. Whatever. Give them the final match slot of the night. |
Yeah I think Dolph wins and losses at the next PPV.
Could go that way too.
Dolph Ziggler winning the WWE World Championship for the first time would be more effective if he were to win it as a heel. Considering how strong Dean's current reign as champion has been, it would be counter productive to have him drop ze belt to Dolphin, who's still becoming acclimated to the main event scene. I am in favor of a longer storyline.
I'm in favor of the long root. I do imagine them telling a story with Ziggler where he loses then moves into the Wyatt storyline as Ambrose dances with Styles and Orton for a few months.
