Meltzer shared a story from his trip to the mail with his wife this past weekend on observer podcast. He stopped by the Hot Topic store and asked to speak with the manager. The manager was a real nice guy he said, reminded him of Darby Allin and Jeff Hardy. Dave inquired about how sales of the Young Bucks and other wrestlers shirts were doing and he said the manager told him they were selling 'great, really great' and that the manager even joked with him about what size he would wear and told him he could sell him one at a discount if he'd like. Meltzer said he didn't end up buying a shirt but he expected the shirts are huge sellers at Hot Topics across the U.S. based on his conversation with the manager of his local Hot Topic.

Is that the stupid shit people pay him to tell?

* The Trios Titles are a bad idea. Just like the rankings. Just like the Women’s Tag Titles in WWE. Just like the CW Title. As an annual tournament? Fine. The timing is wrong and the belts are going to be an anchor and distraction more than anything. It’s been terribly booked. Looks like the finals might be The Elite vs. The Best Friends or The Dark Order. Bad shit that few people care about.

* Wardlow & FTR vs. Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh is not a great use of…anybody really. Wardlow has been booked so badly. FTR have been booked so badly. Jay Lethal has been booked so badly. Is this Sonjay’s first AEW match? And Singh makes Omos look polished. Terrible.

* Why is there a four-way for a vacant singles title? Let’s jam as many women who can’t really work into a clusterfuck. Hey, at least it keeps in line with their women being afterthoughts.

* There’s going to be a Casino Ladder Match! Yay! We haven’t seen guys jump around doing stunts before. The most interesting thing, sadly, is going to be if someone gets hurt. Lazy booking to jam a bunch of guys you haven’t booked into meaningful matches on the card.

* Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho would have been a match that featured 2 great workers…10 years ago. Danielson is 40 and Jericho is 50. And Jericho sucks now. Danielson could carry this. Disappointing how he’s been used in his 1st year in AEW. It might be as disappointing as his first 6 months back in WWE in 2018.

* Swerve in Our Glory? What kind of a shit name is that? Keith Lee fucking sucks. He’s a tag champ because TK signed absolutely everybody under the sun and made bullshit promises to them. Can’t let them fall into obscurity because THEY FUCKING SUCK! Swerve & Lee are token black champs for Khan. The Acclaimed are…whatever. There were good mumblings about their work with The Gunn Club which isn’t getting its due here. Just thrown onto the card to have two black teams go against each orher, I guess. Can anyone say that tag teams truly matter in this company? Of course not.

* Christian Cage’s heel turn started off as something fresh. It very quickly devolved into knockoff MJF territory. Luchasaurus looked fine as a heel, but they already fucked that up. Fuck this fucking company, man. Hopefully the match is good. Jungle Boy has less potential now than he did 3 years ago. Christian should have gone to WWE.

* Will Hobbs and Ricky Starks…why is this feud even happening? These two could be a top team in the promotion. They’ve both got potential. Surprised they made the card since they don’t usually get much of a chance. I don’t know why Starks is also feuding with The JOB Squad. Fuck this company, man.

Lethal is teaming with MCMG.

I know the make up of the team isn’t the issue there.

My mistake. I care so little about what they’ve done I just assumed it was all Lethal’s group. In a way this makes it even worse. They don’t even make sense as a faction.
