He'd probably only be able to make it if he decided to identify as a lesbian chick and enter the divas division.

Mizdow needs to stay Mizdow. A lot of people want him to break away but after the split where is he going? There is nothing built for him after turning in The Miz. Sometimes side characters need to be side characters for a long time. Maybe have Mizdow start using all of Miz's moves during his wrestling matches.

Don't have time to watch right now, but that Lucha Underground thing looks interesting.... production-wise looks very slik...... Remind me to give a watch later.

WWE did away with the 6 month commitment requirement on the $9.99 price of the network.

Don't really see how that's going to help them much.

I think it would help. Say that someone is only interested in watching PPVs.... but not interested enough in 6 of them. He can pick and choose which months to sign up and watch.

Probably get a boost around the big events like Rumble and Mania too. People signing up only for the one/two events.

Of course, it doesn't "help" in the "long term", just for short boosts every now and then.

* WWE continues to develop the international platform for WWE Network and plans to make the U.S. version of WWE Network available in the U.K. on an over-the-top basis in November.

Oooooooooooo.

VSG 10-30-2014 05:03 PM

Glad you guys aren't getting the Canadian "Shaft Us!" version.

Over the last quarter, there were 286,000 new subscribers and 255,000 cancellations.

Considering they were available in 170 new countries and added Canadian TV (Rogers) since the last report, this is a terrible number.

Of the 286,000 new subscribers, 23,000 ordered the $12.99 monthly deal.

The network will be available in the same version as the U.S. in the United Kingdom during the month of November.

Lost a big chunk of their US base to the point the international market barely put them in the positive for the quarter. Still haven't been able to reach a million overall even with counting unique accounts. Also of those new subscribers, just 3,000 was from the US.

Reigns, with new nicknames like “The Juggernaut” and “The Big Dog,” is being primed for the top position.

The plan has always been for Lesnar to retain against Cena and be the unstoppable monster that Reigns stops, preferably at WrestleMania, and after winning the Royal Rumble. Generally, WWE top of the card Mania plans are usually pretty obvious by December, although this plan was evident much earlier. We’d reported it was likely he would need surgery because his strength in his right arm still isn’t coming back.

The situation is significant. Bryan made a public appearance on 10/28 in Santa Clara. According to what we were told, even though he was wearing a long sleeve shirt, it was described to us, and photos backed it up, that you could tell Bryan’s left arm looked big and has retained its usual muscle (while not a big muscular guy by wrestler standards, by normal person on the street standards, he’s thickly muscled) and his right arm looked much smaller. We were told there is no timetable for his return nor a guarantee he will return. There have been reports that he’s going to get Tommy John surgery, an elbow procedure common among baseball pitchers, which has a long recovery time. WWE officially has been quiet about his situation publicly but wrestlers have talked about him needing major elbow surgery.

When someone brought it up to him, he said, “That’s what guys like Del Rio are here for.” Del Rio wasn’t there at the time, but somebody told Del Rio he made that remark. Del Rio confronted Barbierri and complained about him saying it and asked for an apology. Barbierri didn’t apologize. Del Rio slapped him really hard and knocked him down, and was then fired.

Some other sheet news include the Network dropping the 6 month commitment option but staying at $9.99 per month, new Network subscribers get a free month, and WWE somewhat gave up on Ambrose as a possible top star for now.

RIP Bob Geigel

He was a damn good amateur wrestler here in the state of Iowa as a young man.

He came in 3rd during the 1948 NCAA Championships. Geigel would also letter four times at the University of Iowa in football.

He's most known as the longtime promoter of Central States Wrestling and as President of the NWA.

The CAC can confirm that club member and original owner of the NWA, Bob Geigel, has passed away today from advanced Alzheimer’s disease. He was 90 years of age.

The wrestling community owes a great deal to Bob, and we at the Cauliflower Alley Club send our deepest sympathies to his friends and loved ones in this time of mourning.

SLAYOMI sounds interesting. The only thing I can think of is some kind of Santino/Beth Phoenix "Glamarella" type storyline, involving Heath Slater and Naomi.

Also, it looks like the February PPV will be called "Fast Lane" after all. :(

I'm sure I've seen these before and that they showed these last year around this time.

The posters of Mantaur, The Brood, Sycho Sid and Chainsaw Charlie all look really familiar to me.

I get the feeling they just uploaded them again and added a new one on the end, with Ambrose in it, to make it look like they're all new.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., and STAMFORD, Conn. – Lionsgate, the premier next-generation global content leader, and WWE Studios announced today the production of “The Condemned 2: Desert Prey,” (working title), which extends the long-standing partnership between the two studios.

Roel Reiné (“Death Race: Inferno," “The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption”) is set to direct with WWE Superstar Randy Orton attached to star. “The Condemned 2” marks Reiné’s and Orton's second film together after the successful release of “12 Rounds 2: Reloaded.” Alan McElroy (“The Marine 4: Moving Target”) wrote the script. The film is scheduled to commence principal photography in New Mexico later this year.

“The Condemned 2” follows a former bounty hunter (Orton) who soon finds himself on the run as part of a newly revamped, high-stakes and deadly Condemned tournament.

“We’re thrilled to be continuing ‘The Condemned’ franchise with Randy, Roel and our terrific partners at Lionsgate,” said Michael Luisi, WWE Studios President.

WWE Studios will leverage its extensive multi-platform reach to promote the film.

“We are excited to be reteaming with WWE on "The Condemned 2," after such a positive experience on the original film,” said Lionsgate Co-Chief Operating Officer and Motion Picture Group President Steve Beeks. “The combination of their brand marketing capabilities, creativity and deep lineup of dynamic onscreen talent result in a powerful partnership.”

WWE Studios and Lionsgate previously collaborated on “The Condemned,” “See No Evil” and “Leprechaun: Origins,” as well the just-released “See No Evil 2.” In 2015, the two studios will release the first two installments of their "Action Six-Pack" series: “Vendetta,” directed by The Soska Sisters (“See No Evil 2”) and starring WWE Superstar Paul “Big Show” Wight, as well as “Lockdown,” directed by Stephen Reynolds (“Tomb Raider Ascension”) and starring WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose.

Bradley Buchanan, SVP of Business Affairs, negotiated the deal on behalf of WWE Studios, and Wendy Jaffe, EVP of Business & Legal Affairs, negotiated the deal on behalf of Lionsgate.
