Seems alright, but fucking hell video game trailers are butchering songs this year. Quantum Break with Nirvana, COD with Bowie and now this shit.

GTX 1070 and 1080 announced today. Die shrink boiiis, meaning it's a pretty damn big leaps about 40% over the same model on the previous lineup. 1070 should beat a 980ti even.

http://i.imgur.com/FpEq6xs.png

GTX 1080, $599, May 27th

GTX 1070, $379, June 10th

drave 05-07-2016 09:38 AM

What'd they shrink it to?

#BROKEN Hasney 05-07-2016 11:03 AM

16nm. been ages since a shrink, the 980s were still on 28

drave 05-07-2016 01:31 PM

woo, that is quite substantial.

Finally see some impressive improvements this time around :P

#BROKEN Hasney 05-07-2016 03:56 PM

So I'm playing the latest game by Game Freak, the makers of Pokemon on 3DS and it's a horse racing game.

During the tutorial, my character is kicked to death by a horse and is brought back to life as an angel, but only if he wins the main horse racing championship. My character says he's a shit jockey, but he's good at solitaire. So now he plays solitaire during races to make his horse go faster.

I have no idea why I cannot stop playing this

VSG 05-07-2016 06:18 PM

So I got to see the Nvidia event, and there was a sneak peek of Battlefield 1 also. The latter was.. Interesting. Piloting the Zeppelins is a weird idea.

Disturbed316 05-10-2016 03:07 AM

Have people finally woken up about COD?

ClockShot 05-10-2016 07:38 AM

I, among probably many others, am only buying Infinity War solely for the Modern Warfare 4 Remaster.

Infinity War means nothing to me.

The next Mass Effect is coming out early 2017 and is going to be at EA's E3-but-not-E3 event.

ClockShot 05-10-2016 06:03 PM

Disney Infinity is dead.

Skylanders wins the war...........for now.

Emperor Smeat 05-10-2016 06:08 PM

Is Lego Dimensions still around?

If so, pretty much between them and Skylanders for the Gaming Figurines War until Nintendo makes their own big Amiibo based game.

ClockShot 05-10-2016 06:15 PM

I'd assume so. Ever since the boom in popularity in the company in general, they're around.

But you're right. Skylanders now got the market pretty much cornered until (if they want to) Nintendo takes Amiibo to the next level.

Emperor Smeat 05-10-2016 06:48 PM

Today's News:
1) Some more details regarding ClockShot's post above as Disney has dropped their gaming division, Avalanche Software studio is set to be shut down soon, and around 300 employees have been laid off. drave 05-10-2016 07:47 PM

Kinda sucks for Infinity. Loved the Star Wars and Avengers stuff they did. Maybe I will actually buy it if it goes on sale now for my son. He has a shit ton of Skylanders and has wanted Infinity for some time.

Disturbed316 05-11-2016 01:38 AM

Surprised and not surprised by the Disney news. Those things were expensive to buy and that whole genre seems to have died out a bit like the plastic music instrument genre.

road doggy dogg 05-11-2016 08:24 AM

Yeah, definitely had its 15 minutes

drave 05-11-2016 08:56 AM

Skylanders are still very popular and I don't see them fading out anytime soon. My son plays the hell outta the games, and some of them are actually really fun.

road doggy dogg 05-11-2016 09:23 AM

Digging the Capcom Humble Bundle, will probably scoop it up tonight

Decent article on Lionhead at Eurogamer.

Quote:

"I think we all know now - it's out in the open - that I'm a complete twat," Molyneux says
Quote:

"At E3 2003, Peter Molyneux did a press interview about Fable. In it he announced multiplayer for the game. Developers back at Guildford watched in horror. No-one had heard anything about multiplayer. One engineer, we were told, was close to tears. When Molyneux returned, he faced the full wrath of a stressed and exhausted development team. The Carters raised their flame shields. Don't worry, they said. We'll work it out."
Quote:

Molyneux's other directive: Fable 2 must have a dog. And that dog must die.

"We had a meeting," McCormack recalls. "We'd not seen him in weeks because he had other things on. He opened the door, walked in and goes, the hero has a dog, and it dies. And then he left and we didn't see him again for another month. We were like, what the fuck? That was it. That was the direction."
Quote:

How much money? One high-ranking Lionhead source says $75m was spent on Fable Legends - a gargantuan amount for a free-to-play game.
Quote:

"Peter could do what he wanted and he could say no to Microsoft about almost anything. He had that power, and when he left we suddenly felt a bit more vulnerable."

As Lionhead changed, so did Microsoft. As head of Xbox, Don Mattrick had installed a new ethos for Microsoft's next console, the Xbox One, that would stray away from the core gamer audience and toward a more casual audience who might watch live telly on their console. After Molyneux left, Phil Harrison, once of Sony, came in to run Microsoft's European operation. The times, they were a changin'.

drave 05-12-2016 11:37 AM

Fucking Molyneux.....

Kalyx triaD 05-12-2016 03:27 PM

Guy sounds hilarious.

Capcom should have known better prior to the messy launch of SF V. Good on them if they actually learned something and follow through.

Fignuts 05-12-2016 09:47 PM

Took them long enough. SFV wasn't their first misstep, the past few years.
