Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows 7.7/10

I enjoyed it more than the first film.

GD 02-03-2019 01:54 AM

Now watching “Velvet Buzzsaw”. Going to ignore Seanny Hitler’s POV since he doesn’t even know what Sanford is.

slik 02-03-2019 02:36 AM

SERENITY - 3/10

(Film w/ Matthew McConaughey & Anne Hathaway).
It's a giant mess. It started off as this interesting, sexy, noir thriller and then halfway thru the film it reveals it's twist, which comes out of nowhere, and makes no fucking sense -- but the film then continues on with it.

The big, dumb twist is:

SPOILER: show

They are all characters in a video game.

GD 02-03-2019 03:06 AM

They've been so secretive about the plot, I am considering watching it tomorrow.

slik 02-03-2019 04:08 AM

Maybe one day it will end being a cult classic b/c of how bad it is.

It could happen.

GD 02-03-2019 05:09 AM

Fair enough. I will "try" to watch it this week.

It's not that good.

Seanny One Ball 02-03-2019 03:53 PM

Quoting the wrong post there bud.

Velvet Buzzsaw was dreadful, worse than Neon Demon actually. At least Neon Demon has Abbey Lee and Elle Fanning at their most outstandingly good looking.

Bossman 02-06-2019 05:30 AM

Deadpool II was hilarious. 9/10.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-06-2019 11:44 AM

Vice 6.7/10

Christian Bale and Steve Carrell were great, but it did not really grab me; The Big Short was much better.

Although you clearly are a faggot and a lesbian, I couldn’t agree more.

The Invitation - 4/4

When a film as heavy, as agitating and uneasy as this seems to fly by like a train car made of toothpicks you are assured that it will be rent asunder by it's own lack of integrity before forty minutes are through.
Then you spend 90 minutes waiting for a collapse that never occurs because someone somewhere found the only super powered train car made of toothpicks that is as aerodynamic as it is impossible. Yes it rattles and rolls and it scared the shit out of me the first time I rode it but I really can't recommend it enough. At the end of it you know you can survive something the world ain't ready for.

I know this isn't a proper review, it's a bit of a cop out and I'm close to being sorry for that...but I refuse to be the exposition for a movie that fucking tight.

Just watch it.

Logan Marshal Green and John Carrol Lynch are outstanding, Michiel Huisman and Tammy Blanchard are unfalteringly brilliant. Every single aspect of this film was refined to brilliance and it shows in a way that my fears will always recall.

Pissing myself laughing at Father Of The Year...
David Spade is my boy.

@Seanny Do you know of this gem?

"In a performance of a lifetime...Gary motherfucking Oldman!"

Seanny One Ball 02-08-2019 09:58 AM

Oh hey wait, is that the one with Gary Oldman as a dwarf?

GD 02-08-2019 07:13 PM

Si

Just watched another Sandler/Spade comedy "The Change-Up" on Netflix.
I liked it. I laughed a lot. I just do not understand why I can be so enamoured by comedy and yet critics trash the genre on a daily basis.
A childish, smutty comedy is one thing but Sandler has never made one of those. They all have heart in them somewhere and there is never any filth.

I love comedy and The Change Up does the job just fine.

I think there is a critical vendetta against Happy Madison.

Man, you probably couldn't make that film these days; mad politically-incorrect. Therefore, at some point, I will have to watch it.

Seanny One Ball 02-09-2019 11:41 AM

I wonder how many films like that Peter Dinklage turns down on a daily basis

Damian Rey 2.0 02-10-2019 01:41 AM

The Lego movie: the second part-8/10

The same high pace, frantic, gag driven model returns and tho it's not quite as good as the original, it's a fun, funny follow-up. The kiddo loved it as well.

GD 02-10-2019 02:00 AM

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part - 7/10

slik 02-10-2019 03:42 AM

The Prodigy - 6/10

Acting was decent and it had a few moments but overall it's a no from me.

Blue Demon 02-10-2019 04:12 PM

The Upside - 6/10. I thought it was pretty decent and Hart and Cranston did well, I found some of it too cliche and a bit preachy at times.

Emperor Smeat 02-10-2019 10:38 PM

Suicide Squad - 2.5 out of 5

Most of the film felt pretty boring.

GD 02-13-2019 04:21 AM

Cold Pursuit - 7/10

Happy Death Day - 6/10

Droford 02-13-2019 05:00 PM

Happy Death Day 2U 9/10 biggest complaint I had is the post credits scene doesn't set up a 3rd movie like was rumored

Films like that should have a maximum age rating, not a minimum.

Gully Boy - 7/10

slik 02-16-2019 05:10 AM

Happy Death Day 2 U - 7.5/10

Fun and surprisingly emotional, really enjoyed it

GD 02-16-2019 05:31 AM

That's next on my list. Might go tomorrow or something. Hate packed theaters and when people talk.

GD 02-17-2019 04:14 AM

Happy Death Movie 2 U - 7/10

I didn't see the post credit scene.

Blue Demon 02-17-2019 08:13 AM

Cold Persuit - 4/10. Had it's funny moments, but I found a lot of the acting pretty bad and it was a little too cheesy for my liking.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-17-2019 08:48 AM

The Legend of Tarzan 6.5/10

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-17-2019 03:09 PM
