I don't know how to share it, but Blake, Murphy & Alexa Bliss have a new shirt and Alexa has changed her look to match the Tag Champs. They're being labeled as "BAMF" -- the Blake, Alexa, Murphy Factor.
Alexa Bliss is so fucking gorgeous. Blake & Murphy are serviceable and are developing, but they needed something to make them feel less...just together. |
I haven't read the spoilers, but I'd like to see a tournament to decide the next #1 Contender for the Women's Championship.
* Becky Lynch vs. Natalya * Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss * Charlotte vs. Dana Brooke * Bayley vs. Emma * Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss * Charlotte vs. Emma * Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte |

Blake seems...really solid. I don't know why, but I just think he has the goods in there somewhere. Murphy has genuinely impressed me at times. Plus he is friends with Paul London, and I like Paul London.

People might hate this, but I actually think NXT could bring in a set of Women's Tag Team Titles. There are quite a few great women working there, and the girls are thrown into tag team matches on the main roster quite a bit. They often have a few female-centric storylines on the go at once, but having a set of ladies' tag titles would give more girls an aim when they can't be in the immediate singles titles picture.
* William Regal announces a tournament to crown the inaugural champions. * Bayley wants to enter with Charlotte, but Charlotte cuts a well-meaning but somewhat dismissive promo on Bayley, saying she called someone else that could actually help her win the tournament ("OOH!"). Charlotte announces her partner is Natalya, and they will be known as "Naturally Selected." * Bayley bounces back by saying she made a call to someone too. They might have vastly different personalities, but this girl respects the potential Bayley has. Enter Paige -- who wants to be the first-ever NXT Women's Champion; and one-half of the first-ever NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. "Hugs & Beatings" is your official second team entered. * Emma enters the tournament with a returning Summer Rae as her partner. Like Emma, Summer went to the main roster and kind of found herself floundering. The First Lady of NXT's persona is a lot like Emma's current one too. They go forth being known as "The Dark Summer" and as "The First Ladies of NXT." * Carmella wants some bling, so Enzo & Cass find a partner for her. Introducing...ba-da-dada! Ba-da-dadadada! Blue Pants! * William Regal wants to add some veterans to the tournament. He announces that Alicia Fox & Layla will be teaming together. Layla has a history with Regal, and whilst he was on commentary, Regal said that Alicia Fox was his favorite Diva in the ring. It'd make sense he'd reach out to both to pad out his new division and give the former Divas Champions a shot at re-invigorating their careers. * KC Cassidy & Jessie McKay are in developmental at the moment. They might not be as "WWE-ready" as the company likes, but the two Aussies would make an obvious choice to team up and have already been working NXT house shows together. "Down Under on Top" are your sixth team. * Dana Brooke doesn't play nice with others, but she is assigned a tag team partner for the tournament -- Cameron -- another girl with attitude issues. * The last team I'm reaching for, but how about Eden Stiles & Devin Taylor? Two members of the announcing crew who have been training and step into active competition for the first time as partners? Perhaps they could even upset Brooke & Cameron, leading to further issues between the two? Those are just suggestions. You could probably just have Charlotte & Bayley team together and win the whole thing after beating Emma & Summer in the finals. But once the tournament is done, you don't need to keep all the teams together. Realistically, you'd only really need a set of champions, immediate challengers, and maybe a team or two to be developed to eventually take the titles as other teams are trialed on house shows. |
Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch stay out of the tournament, as they continue their rivalry and face each other in a Ladder Match on the same show that the first Women's Tag Team Champions are crowned. A big day for female wrestling in the WWE. Alexa Bliss is also focused on her singles career, making life difficult for Carmella (and Blue Pants) and hanging out with her boys.

This is good, but would THEY allow it. NXT has 4 story lines that involve divas. WWE, not so much. |

There's another serviceable idea. A tag team tourney with the finals being between partners actually makes sense in a world where there is only one title for them to fight for. Kind of gimmicky, but it also protects the girls because they don't lose in singles matches on the way. For example, Blue Pants can take a fall for Carmella, which can set Carmella off and start a feud between the two.

Wow, when was the last time you saw girl on guy action on WWE programming?!?!?! Alexa Bliss with a sparkle splash on a dude?
Cool beans |
Ronda Rousey on HHH, kess than 2 months ago.
|
Does that count? I'm along the lines of saying like a Diva putting their hands on a superstar.
Now if he got put in an arm submission... |
Good show, and on a side note.....Alexa Bliss goddamn!

Sasha Banks could be out for a while depending on how her arm/shoulder injury ends up. Small spoilers about a match that happens next week or two but it is related to the Banks injury news.

I'm getting a crush on Alexa Bliss. I also like Blake & Murphy far more than I feel I should. I don't feel they are "great" yet, but there's something about both guys' efforts that make me think they could reach that pinnacle.
|
Dark Emma and Dark Bliss both grew in "hotness" with their heel turns....
Also, Samoa Joe has the least intimidating theme song ever. It starts off "ok" but then changes into this generic theme that nobody could possibly ever be scared of.... or even get behind from a "fan perspective". |
Quote:
I was hoping it was a one-night thing due to basically nobody actually knowing Joe was coming and them not having time to really put much together other than a really basic Tron. Sure, tapings were 24 hours later, but that still should have been enough time to go "Oh, hey, Samoa Joe is coming out to a softer version of DJ Gabriel's theme from WWECW. We should fix that." I'm sure when it comes to the next special, he'll get refreshed music like they tend to do, but that's a long way away. Hopefully by the next round of tapings. It's really hard to take him serious as an intimidating badass across from Kevin Owens, who has a simple but very heavy theme, when it sounds like he's coming out to the background music for a retirement home infomercial. |
Like it hits with the Godzilla knock-off and you're like "Ohhhhh here we go!" and then it changes to a rinky dink generic techno-lite theme and you're like "Uh.... ok?"
|
It's for when he signs a full time deal and they need to change his name to DJ JAZZY JOE.
|
 DJ Gabriel and his entrance though, especially since it came with a super hot Alicia Fox.

With the rumors that WWE (or at least the part of it associated with NXT) are interested in signing AJ Styles coming out, I wonder if Christopher Daniels will get a look by them? The guy is a clear pro and has got a lot he can bring to the table when it comes to working with young guys. Plus, the idea of Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels for the NXT Title is giving me a bit of a chubby.
They could also bring in Frankie Kazarian and have them work the NXT tag scene too. Daniels & Kazarian working with Blake & Murphy, The Vaudevillains and Enzo & Cass has got some appeal to it. Kaz worked for the company before, but it's an entire different landscape now. A guy who can work and looks like Antonio Banderas actually has a place there now. |
They announced Owens vs. Balor on the WWE Network from Japan on the 4th of July for the title on the show tonight. I guess that's how they're going to get the belt off of him, I'd guess. We'll see, though. That would be a uge moment if Devitt won the belt over there in front of what could arguably be considered his hometown crowd.
|
Big things happening in Japan
|
Vaudevillians finally back on NXT.
|
Blake favorited a tweet of mine when I said I liked his tag team finisher homage to Eddie Guerrero. Seems like NXT stars are quicker to favorite or re-tweet stuff fans say than regular WWE Superstars. Pretty cool.

The Young Bucks would obviously side with Owens and Doc Gallows and Machine Gun would back Balor out of friendship
WHOSE SIDE IS AJ ON |
He should side with Balor too. Doesn't want Prince Devitt to have to come back if he fails in WWE and take back what's his.
|
I'm guessing they'll have Finn Balor win the NXT Title in Japan, then Hideo Itami comes out to congratulate him, setting up a future match between the two. Everything wraps up in a nice little package for them.
|
I really liked the Tyler Breeze/Adam Rose match. Breeze is one of the most entertaining workers they have, in my opinion. Rose had his game-face on, and the dude really did a good job here. His persona needs to evolve to allow him to bust this stuff out and really become three-dimensional.
|
Kinda worried about the women's division with the inclusion of legendary performer Eva Marie.
|
THE Brian Kendrick has been training her
|
Give Jason Jordan a damn entrance for pete's sake
|
Quote:
|
Yeah, they need to show clips of her training with Brian Kendrick. But I feel they might do that after she surprises some people and shuts up the "You can't wrestle" chants.
|
Jason Jordan has got the look and probably has the fundamentals down, but he's missing something. Maybe he just needs to dip his toes into the water a bit more. The hinted Chad Gable pairing might bring it out of him. Apparently Gable is pretty good. Bring back The World's Greatest Tag Team in a veteran role to feud with them after they are done with The Vaudevillains. The Enzo/Cass vs. Blake/Murphy feud could have legs based on their personal issues, and you can always call down The Lucha Dragons to put over Blake & Murphy in the interim.
Rhyno's apparent nastiness is interesting. He was pretty fine in his "I'm an established guy that you like but can also work the de facto heel spots and no one is bothered." I wonder where they are going with this? Maybe a feud with someone who calls Rhyno on his shit, like Solomon Crowe or a face Tyler Breeze? Or maybe he's going to be Balor's first challenger once he wins the title in Japan? Rhyno vs. Joe? Maybe he's Uhaa's first target? Maybe he and Corbin become "The Unstoppable Forces" and add some heavies to the tag scene? |
Quote:
|
Kendrick should appear in Eva Marie's corner. Give her a feel good story. I know they advertise her as having a boyfriend, but let some romantic tension develop between the two. Get people into both characters.
|
Tyler Breeze is the smartest man in wrestling.
Fat man? Make him run until he can't stand up. |
So Bull Dempsey's new gimmick is just him being a fat guy?
How is that any different than before when he was the "last of a dying breed" aka fat guy wrestler. |
Because now he eats doritos and has a chocolate bar hidden in his tights.
Very different. Character development. |
If Dempsey manages to win a match with a chocolate bar as a hidden weapon, I'd be extremly impressed.

SPOILER: show |
Apparently the main event at the Pittsburgh show was a four-way match between Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, and Tyler Breeze.
I am desperately hoping for fan cam footage to show up somewhere. |
Samoa Joe's theme music, am I right?
|
<font color=goldenrod>Alexa is apparently now dating Murphy in real life.
Welp, there's an unrealistic dream of mine shattered.</font> |
I knew they'd be fucking. Those young, attractive people are always at it. This show needed more Alexa.
|
I mean, it was good -- but it definitely needed more Alexa.

I can't be the only one who hates Dana Brooke so thoroughly.

Had a good time tonight at the show in Cleveland. Sat next to Dana Brooke's aunt and uncle and it was funny that they were getting mad at her being booed.
LOVED the main event 4 way. Hell of a match from all competitors. Here are the results: NXT Results from the Agora: Enzo and Big Cass defeated the Vaudevillians Bull Dempsey defeated Jason Jordan Baron Corbin defeated Rhyno with the "end of days" Bailey and Carmella defeated Emma and Dana Brooke when Emma tapped out to Carmella. NXT Tag Title match: Blake and Murphy defeated Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley Womens Title: Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte in a fantastic match with her Bank Statement submission. Fatal 4 Way for NXT Title: Kevin Owens retained in what would be a classic ppv match over Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Tyler Breeze when he hit the pop up powerbomb on Breeze for the win. https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...da&oe=557DB99A |

Finn Balor hype video was insanely good. They showed all kinds of photos and videos from all of his indies. Becky Lynch bits were really great too.
I can't think of another package I've seen that they've done like this before short of a full DVD. I can't wait for part 2 next week, which feels like a ridiculous thing to say about a video package. |
I wonder if these video packages are from Full Sail or the WWE video team itself. They need to make sure that the production values of their videos dontdon't lower as well.
|
Probably just NXT guys with the WWE doing whatever finishing touches are needed.
Think most if not all of NXT's production is done by Full Sail students and interns. |

Good show, can't wait to see more Joe vs Owens.

Guys, next week will feature the Bullet Club

That Finn Balor package was a thing of beauty. I'm absolutely convinced he is winning the NXT Title now. Well, like 90% sure. The stuff with Becky Lynch also helped show off more of her personality too. Great stuff.
Alexa is hot as hell, and The BAM Factor's feud with Enzo, Cass & Carmella gets points for effort. It's been a simple progression and I'm looking forward to Enzo & Cass' big moment. I'd be happy for these two teams to feud for a while. It doesn't feel "main event" like the other title programs do, but give things time. They've got plenty of stories left to tell. KC Cassidy was a girl I wanted the WWE to sign for ages, just based on her look alone. I liked the story she told with Charlotte. The Queen was pissed off that she got beaten down, and actually played something of a de facto heel against the cutesie from Australia. KC looked good, showed pluck, and lost honorably. I'm looking forward to her next appearance. I think she may have found a gimmick with the plucky girl with something to prove. She could easily fill the hole left by Bayley when she leaves for the main roster in six months to a year. I'm looking forward to the next Charlotte vs. KC match. Let them tell a "next time I'll get you" story. Sort of like Zayn & Cesaro. |
This is my weekly post about how awful Dana Brooke is. Want Devin Taylor to bash her face in with a chair so badly. Everything else this week was A+.
|
According to the ongoing batch of NXT tapings, Sami Zayn confirmed he's out till 2016 because of the shoulder injury and rehab.

I feel like with the crop of upcoming call-ups (Owens, Balor, maybe Joe, etc.), he'd be the most likely to suffer from the "Itami-effect," basically what happened to Kenta debuting alongside Balor. He's a really great talent and connects with the crowds, but I don't nkow if he'd be able to stand out in contrast to Owens and Balor, especially in the main roster environment where he'd probably be having 3-5 minute matches. Maybe being on the shelf for a bit and emerging afterward will work out better. |
|
I chuckled when I heard a kid from the crowd shout "Joe's gonna kill you". I thought the "headlock city / that's a chin lock" chants were adorable. Felt "somewhat" emotional during the Ballor package.
|
I can't wait for Devin to snap on Dana and cost her a big match and go and fend for herself. I hope she's decent in the ring.
|
She had her first match against Carmella in 2014. So, it's possible that could happen.
|
She's hot as hell. She's got such a "Diva" look that I wonder if people will take her seriously though? She's got a good window to make a connection in front of her though.
|
I really want Layla and Alicia Fox to team up for some reason. Maybe have Summer Rae align herself with them. I know the "three bad girls" stable has been done to death, but I think it would inject NXT Women's Division with some interesting talent once Charlotte and Sasha Banks end up on the main roster.
|
I think Carmella could be a huge star (as far as Divas go)
Love Enzo/Cass/Carmella trio and think they could make a big splash on the main roster. |
Pretty good but filler-ish episode last night. Get this feeling that they're at the end of their tapes because of the live special. Owens needs to go up to the main roster permanently and they're pushing Finn super hard.
Pretty excited for a potential Banks/Devin Taylor tag team. |
Only halfway of the current set but nothing remaining spoils the July 4th title match.
|
Alexa Bliss has got a ton of main roster potential. She's Diva-ish, but she can work. I'm loving the Australian girls in NXT too. Once the current crop move on, they'll hopefully get to dominant NXT for a little bit and really flesh out characters.
|
I want Becky Lynch to lead a revolution, but I'm not sure she'll get a proper chance.
|

This is going to be a big test to see if NxT can tour.
Lots of things going for it here with SS the next night. If this were the night before WM, this would be sold out in hours if not minutes with all the travelers coming in. Not sure how SS draws for out-of-towners these days, but they must have done the research after their recent mini tour to figure that its worth it to rent out the Barclays in the NY market. Damn, can you imagine NXT at the American Airlines Center Saturday, WM Sunday at Jerry World, Raw after WM on Monday back at AA?? Thats a thing right there. |
That's a freakin trip. Meet you in Dallas?

They are pushing Finn hard, and I find it surreal they are using footage from other companies and names outside the WWE to make this kid. Now is the time to switch the NXT Title to Balor and move Owens on. I've wanted to see Devin Taylor get in the ring against Dana Brooke for a while now, but I actually think that Charlotte would be the best pick for a tag team partner. Banks and Charlotte don't get along, but Charlotte is a common target of Emma and Dana as well. Plus, putting the two on the same side can continue "Four Horsewomen" speculation. |
