I already got the We Are One shirt and now Barrett is out. This time I'm gonna wait to see how long Scar stays as the leader of the Nexus after taking out King Mufasa.

taker707 01-10-2011 04:49 PM

WWE has announced that they will name the first member of the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame class tonight on RAW.

Who will go in first . WWE is claiming its a blockbuster annoucement. Sting maybe?

Xero 01-10-2011 04:50 PM

I don't really care about the affiliation, just care about the design. It could look like shit.

Xero 01-10-2011 04:55 PM

Okay yeah if that's the design I might jump on it.

Source? I would imagine they would announce him at the end. Maybe someone like AA or the 4 Horsemen?

Yeah, I'm guessing it will be Arn Anderson. I hope somebody rips Bischoff and the nWo a new asshole at the Hall of Fame for the way they treated his retirement.

Jake the Snake - He is retiring from in ring action for good really soon and this would be the icing on the cake that was his career....ending his pro wrestling days with an induction would really make me feel good for him.

Schlomey 01-10-2011 07:26 PM

I am sick of Mick Foley in general. I loved him for a long time but anymore could care less what he does and the last thing I want him to do is fill a slot at Mania.

CSL 01-10-2011 07:28 PM

Yes I do.

CSL 01-10-2011 07:37 PM

He's retired a couple of times over the last 2-3 years. We'll see.

Triple Naitch 01-10-2011 08:32 PM

My money's on Goldberg.

Xero 01-10-2011 08:34 PM

Here's the problem with Punk in Nexus: I only care about Punk. If/when he leaves, I will not care about Nexus.

Xero 01-10-2011 08:36 PM

Are they really going to announce the big one right off the bat? I'd think they'd start with a semi-known, but not top star.

The top star this year has to be pretty big, since they're in an arena for the HOF. Either Warrior or Savage. Probably Savage.

As for tonight, I'm betting on someone people care about, but wouldn't exactly be a deal breaker. I'll agree with Arn Anderson, or possibly Ron Simmons.

CSL 01-10-2011 08:36 PM

I'd say that's less of a problem and more of the reason Punk's been put in that spot.

Schlomey 01-10-2011 08:36 PM

to be honest...did anyone care about nexus apart from Wade Barrett? They are a collective unit of drones without much on screen personality. It is not our fault we don't care about them individually.

The problem being that if Nexus didn't exist it wouldn't matter. After this is done, unless they do something really drastic to change the way the group works (which I doubt they will) they're still going to be a bunch of guys who went no where and Punk being there is only a way to prevent the inevitable dissolve of Nexus into obscurity for a few months.

You're right, it's WWE's fault. I could have bought Nexus on a whole as something, as there are quite a few decent talents in it, especially now. But now? No. The angle has been going far too long and should just end.

I could easily see Punk, down the line, weeding a few guys out (namely, everyone but Perfect Jr. and Husky) and making them the new SES.

Schlomey 01-10-2011 08:43 PM

you are the devon to my bubba, xero.

Cool King 01-10-2011 08:46 PM

I get the feeling that at the end of the whole Punk/Nexus thing, Punk will come out being a face.

I think his Slammy award speech was directed towards Nexus and slowly he'll do the whole "destroy Nexus from the inside" thing, sortof like what Cena did, but only better.

That's why it's a good thing Punk is there. They probably would fade into obscurity because there's no star power there yet, outside of the group threat nobody really cares about them, they've still only been on TV less than a year. It sounds like you're still disappointed that the Nexus program with Cena didn't work out the way you hoped. It looks like they have a plan for Barrett which is good for him. Punk has a program with Cena ready made and could be set for 'the push' with guys to back him to make him seem more of a threat. Nexus have been refreshed and are interesting off the back of that alliance. And as long as they leave enough to work with afterwards, they can try and make one of the guys (not all of them will 'make it' and rightfully so, not very often a group of guys come up at roughly the same time and all turn out to be stars) Gabriel maybe, by having him eventually get the boot and getting into it with Punk. It's 'refreshing' across the page.

Xero 01-10-2011 08:54 PM

I don't see anything refreshing about the Nexus itself. It's still a bunch of lackeys who won't be able to get the job done at the end of the day lead by someone who happens to have some steam behind him and won't be completely buried. That's all I see them as. Punk is the only reason it's interesting. They're still doing the same shit they've done for more than half a year.

Could I be wrong? Absolutely, and I hope I am, but right now, nothing but Punk refreshes Nexus, and he's not enough to make it interesting as a whole at the moment.

Xero 01-10-2011 09:15 PM

Okay, after the opening of RAW I can say I'm wrong. Just hope Nexus doesn't get buried in the end.

The Naitch 01-10-2011 09:46 PM

I can see him ending his career in WWE

Vince even promoted his book when he was in TNA. Just made a small mention. Mick thought Vince was a good man for doing this, even if he didn't have to

Ernest Mack Shell was arrested late Saturday night in Brushfork, West Virginia after the wrestlers who participated on his show billed as "Dare to Compare" showlearned that he didn't have any money to pay them or others who worked the event.

"He had promised to pay and provide motel rooms for all of the wrestlers who appeared Saturday night," said Deputy W.E. Rose of the Mercer County Sheriff's Department. "Two of the wrestlers, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and Diamond Dallas Page flew in to participate in the event, but all of the others drove here. Some of them came from as far away as Nashville, Tenn., Louisville, Ky., and other areas. Most drove 6-7 hours to be part of this."

Rose added that he and the other deputies arrived at 6 p.m., and at approximately 11:10 p.m., Shell's booking agent told the officers that they should keep a close eye on him.

"He said that Shell didn't have any money and that he thought he might try to skip out," Rose said. "About five minutes later the armory manager came and got us and said: 'You guys might want to get up here. This guy's about to get his butt kicked."

Several wrestlers cornered Shell backstage. "I said: 'Can you pay us and the rest of these here?' When he said he couldn’t, I said: 'Put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest.' He said this was his 174th wrestling promotion,' Rose said. "Some of these wrestlers didn’t have the money to drive back home. Just like us, they were planning to get paid. He was lucky he hired us. Otherwise, he would have had to deal with all of those wrestlers."

Shell was charged with 10 counts of obtaining services on false pretenses. "Those were just the counts in Mercer County," Rose added. "He is facing another 19 counts where he was calling people when he was in Kentucky to participate in the event. He was making deals with the wrestlers as the matches were going on. He said that all he had was an ATM card with a $400 limit."

Shell's bail was set at $50,000 Sunday afternoon. He was being held at the Bluefield City Jail after his appearance in magistrate court.
Beautiful.

QUESTION: Have you ever ripped a shirt off, Hulk Hogan style? I have never even attempted to do so. Feel like it would be a waste of a shirt. I think I have to try it someday, though, or my life will feel incomplete.

Xero 01-11-2011 12:23 AM

I've done it a few times.

Xero 01-11-2011 12:23 AM

(Insert fat joke here.)

The One 01-11-2011 12:26 AM

I did it once before sex. Pretty epic moment in my life.

Only with every T-shirt I no longer wanted/had no use for/disliked ever.

CSL 01-11-2011 12:29 AM

So about 6 times ever. I'm a hoarder.

Lock Jaw 01-11-2011 12:46 AM

Gonna see if there's some shirt I can part with and try it RIGHT NOW.
