They're adding new characters, stages and tweaking moves. I'm thinking it could be a new disc and we might see it around April. That's when the last two have been released.

Some AWESOME matches tonight, gentlemen. Funky, you should of stuck around. The Juri vs Sakura rematch was pretty epic.

Think that actually puts it at 2-2, for that match. Shoulda stayed for a rubber match. Next time.

Abel has definitely suffered, due to all the time spent on juri and makoto. Forgot how to play him from a strategy standpoint.

And no wins from Makoto today. That made me sad.

At least Juri has become pretty beastly. Might actually start playing ranked matches with her.

Sakura and Juri got something of a rivalry going. While working off the rust, I snuck in some new stuff for Sakura. My Chun fell a few pegs, but Ken got sharp.

Hilarious lag. Made going for quarter circles a chore. One time I imputed an EX senpuu and Sak just stood there to get kicked in the face by Bison. After a while I stopped getting mad.

Normal Moves

• We increased his range on Far Standing Hard Punch.

Special Moves

• We buffed his damage on Light Punch and Hard Punch Spinning Piledrivers, and increased range on Light Punch Spinning Piledriver.

• EX Banishing Flat, when it hits a grounded opponent, will no longer knock down.

• As a result, it is impossible to go onto wake-up offense after EX banishing flat, but it's within Light Punch Spinning Piledriver's range so please utilize it wisely.

• There are no changes to either Lariat.

Ultra 2
It is possible to alter Siberian Blizzard's traveling distance by putting in a forward/backward input between Ultra freeze and start-up.

For forward direction, it can travel much further than before, so it's easier to grab backdashing opponents.

While the ground recovery on whiff has increased, we see it as a buff considering its possibility on controlling the distance.

Overall
The major changes are the EX Banishing Flat (Green Glove) and Light Punch Spinning Piledriver range. It became necessary, not just for Zangief players, but for the opponents as well to alter their spacing, so please research thoroughly in SSF4 Arcade Edition.

Everyone online is screwed. You've seen what I can do with the SB when I'm focused (20 win streak, pulling it off from a lying position, catching anything from a back dash to a Scissors Kick.) but now they're going to make it even better. I don't mind no knock down from EX Banishing Fist given everything else they've done instead. I was a little worried they'd destroy Zangief but they seem to have done the opposite.


Sagat:

SPOILER: show
Normal Moves[/U][/B]

• The total damage is increased on Standing Light Kick when both hits get connected.

• As before, only 1st hit is Special Cancelable.

Special Moves

• Tiger Uppercut's damage is increased when connected at the 1st or 2nd active frames.

• There has been many complaints about Angry Scar that it comes out when unintended, so we changed its command to Kick buttons instead.

Overall

As there were huge changes in transition from vanilla Street Fighter 4 to SSF4, there are no changes in Arcade Edition to anything besides damage and command adjustments.

Being appropriate for his name as the King, he retains the potential to be a top class in SSF4 Arcade Edition.


Dan:

SPOILER: show
Normal Moves[/U][/B]

• Close Standing Light Punch's startup is changed to 3 frames. This was 4 frames in SSFIV.

• Crouching Medium Punch's startup was changed to 5 frames, was 7 frames in SSFIV.

• Close Standing Light Kick, Close Standing Medium Punch, Close Standing Hard Kick, Far Standing Light Punch, Crouching Light Punch, and Crouching Medium Kick's recovery time was reduced, so there are new combos available.

• For example, Far Standing Light Punch into Crouching Medium Kick will combo along with Crouching Medium Punch 2x.

• Neutral Jumping Hard Punch has pursuit property, and will slam opponents down to the ground when hit.

Special Moves

• Medium and Hard Dan Kicks damage distribution got adjusted.

• Hard Dan Kick's total damage was decreased.

• Koryuken (Dragon Punch) will give air reset on trade, this is likely on Dan, not the opponent.

Ultra 2

• Haoh Gadoken's invincibility was decreased to 8 frames after Ultra freeze. As a result, if it can be stuffed, and projectile will not come out when that happens.

Overall

Normals are enormously buffed, so it became interesting in a close range brawl. This character is for pros, but this could be the one step forward for Saikyo!


Dudley:

SPOILER: show
Normal Moves

• Crouching Medium Kick's active frame window was increased to 5 frames, was 3 frames in SSFIV.

• Standing Hard Kick's recovery time was reduced. While it hasn't changed on hit, the frame advantage is 0 on block, so the risk is reduced and therefore it's easier to utilize. Previously, this was -3 on block.

• Jumping Hard Kick will slam down opponents to the ground if they're hit in airborne state, so it's better as an anti air option.

Unique Attacks

• We changed Toward + Medium Punch's startup to 7 frames, and increased hitbox as well, so it is possible to hit some characters out of their low attacks. The startup on this was 9 frames in SSFIV.

• Toward + Hard Kick's hitbox was buffed, so it is possible to connect from further away than now.

Special Moves

• A new special, EX Duck, is added in, it's different from regular versions. EX Duck has upper body invincibility during movement, and canceling into follow-ups is possible from the 3rd frame.

• Light Punch or Light Kick into EX Duck into Ducking Straight/Upper is possible now.

Others

• Jet Upper Focus Attack Dash Cancel on block has frame advantage of -2.

• Also, we fixed cases where a throw wouldn't connect on some dizzied opponents.

Overall

We made situations on where he had difficulty to be less severe, and made the changes for Dudley to have more variety of chances.

We think the brand new EX Duck will become an important tool with new combo possibilities, so you can look forward to him.

Yeah this'll work. Just aped SRK's icons and saved them to my Photobucket album. You're welcome to the link, though I don't think you guys will put much use to this. In truth I had other reasons for gathering those icons.

While I'm at it, here's some FG lingo for those curious about how I write certain terms.

AA = Anti-Air: Both used to describe a moves directional attack and an on-hit status. If Figgy catches me with Ryu's LP Shoryu on AA, for instance, he can follow up with Ryu's EX Hadou, or Shinku, or Ultra Hadou. You may have seen me follow Ken's HP Shoryu on AA with FP Shoryu. Other characters have such juggle opportunities when they connect on AA.

j. = Jump (Not necessary to say direction usually)
cr. = Crouch
xx = Cancel: An interim character between moves when one is canceled to another. For instance you guys certainly know my Sak's:

cr.HP xx EX Senpuu, Upper Shinku Ultra

The Senpuu juggle doesn't link to anything, so notice the use of a comma between moves there.

Links: Links are not cancels, and you can follow up an attack within an incredibly gay timing window. They do lead to some flashy and strong combos, but it's my least favorite mechanic of the game.

Target Combos: What 3D fighters would call preset combos, these are strings of hits that were built to be 'dialed in'. Much more forgiving and fun than links, more rewarding than cancels. The 3rd Strike characters have a lot of these.

I think you'll pick it up pretty easily. It didn't take me long. I'm definitely still weak with my inputs to the right on the stick, but I'm getting better overall. Way better than using a controller or even the SFIV Fight Pad, I think. I'm really curious how these Sanwa parts will feel as opposed to whatever I've been using. I'm guessing a lot of my issues are still straight timing, which would be my problem and not the stick. We will see.

Also decided to stick with a square gate on the joystick for the time being. Since I've been using one for over a year, and I prefer charge characters anyway, I'll probably be ok. It's all in preference anyway.

Nah I got an SE for 15 bucks from Walmart. I've been using a Hori EX2, which has better parts than the shitty stuff the SE came with, but still isn't great. The upgrades cost about 50, so 65 bucks for the stuff in the TE isn't bad at all.

Can't imagine using a hexagonal-gate though. Think the arcades here were square-gate too.

My MAME pre-made stick has Happ parts and an octo-gate, and I don't much like it for when I play SSF2T. Have a hard time feeling the edges of the gate.

I'm hoping they are only Arcade mode bosses and not actually playable characters. I really, really don't think we need any more characters of this style/type and I'm not just saying that because I favour guys like Zangief and Hakan.

We need more variety but I can't see us getting any more characters added to the AE if it's going to be a DLC. I hope we do, though, to compensate for two more Ryu characters and they better not add Charlie.

From a story POV I wanna see where this goes, they certainly teased this in some manner in SF4. Dark Ryu and Shin/Oni Akuma are stables of the Satsui no Hadou plot. Probably means we'll get Charlie after all.

Ok, technical question here.

I've just discovered I can pull off a specific and unlikely move in a specific situation. I went out on a limb and randomly tried it during Arcade mode and that's when I found it worked.
I then went into training mode to see if I could pull it off again but I couldn't. I used the same characters in training that I was using in Arcade mode but I don't seem to be able to do it at all.

Is this something to do with frames or something more "advanced" that I don't understand?
If it's frames, any idea how I can learn exactly when to do it?

I did a fully charged focus attack on a grounded opponent, did the cancel thing as soon as it hit and pulled off an anti air move on them as they fell to their knees, which connected in Arcade mode.

I've been trying it over and over again in training and I can't reacreate it.

I assume you did Hakan's Ultra where people fall on his belly? Yeah it connects. try it without the cancel up close, but I never did it myself. Got punished with it quite a few times.

No, it wasn't Hakans Ultra 2, I could do that long ago.

If you want to know, It was the Siberian Blizzard. I could pull it off from almost any situation. In the air, as I got up etc. I just couldn't do it after a focus attack. I had tried in the past but assumed it just wasn't possible. Now I discover it is and I want to perfect it so I'll be able to pull it out online whenever I like.

There's been cases where air grabs after FAs connected for certain characters. The size of the crumbling opponent may also effect the outcome.

I thought the size of the character would be a factor, that's why I tried it on Rufus. I remember I grabbed Funky's T.Hawk with it when he was just standing there. Guess they were both just bugs.

I saw videos of a Mokoto bug that causes her to suddenly appear on the other side of her opponent.

I'm probably the only one that does this but I like finding new ways and situations to use a characters Ultras. Some are cool but not very effective like Seths Ex Multiple Shoryuken into his U2 and others are very helpful like Hakans FA into his U2. I just like trying out new situations.

For now, here’s to seeing some Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma in action.

A 2 year old playing HD Remix as Zangief. I thought he was facing the AI but he's apparantly playing online. (Just got a case of Deja Vu typing this btw.)

My 2yo nephew likes to press FP while walking forward, and he seems to have a crush on Makoto.

They would need two to even out the character select screen. They have Yun at one side and Yang at the other and I'm assuming they'll do the same with Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma but that would leave space for two more people.

I'm hoping it's interesting characters. Alex, Hugo, Poison, Birdie, Eagle, Ono's mum just anyone that's interesting and different. I'm not even caring who it is anymore because my picks of Mika, Rolento, Q & Sodom are not going to be in so I just want someone interesting and no Charlie or any other clones like Violent Ken or Bulimic Rufus or whatever.
