The Reader - Eh, middlebrow Oscar bait. Fiennes was miscast and nothing was really interesting... there wasn't anything offensive about it though 6/10

Sans Soleil - Pretentious, leftist nonsense... I liked it! 8/10

Gran Torino - Grrrrrrr 7/10

Last Tango in Paris - Flawed masterpiece I'd say. Bertolucci is a master and Brando's performance is sublime but a couple things didn't work. 8/10

The Earrings of Madame de... - Liked it a lot. 9/10

Fanboys 8/10

Jeritron 06-22-2009 10:33 PM

Normally, I would have found Fanboys to be atrocious. It wasn't very well made, or funny on it's own. It requires a prerequisite course, and that's being a fan. But, as a lifelong Star Wars fan I enjoyed it a lot.
I think it's a movie that is made for Star Wars fans exclusively, and if someone who wasn't one watched it they wouldn't be wrong in proclaiming it's an awful movie.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: 10/10.

I obviously got back from the Midnight showing so I will just talk about this tommorow. Just an amazing movie and I'll prolly go see it again this weekend

Legend Killer 06-24-2009 03:48 AM

Transies 2: Revenge of The Fallen: 7/10

The humor is great. Each character had their shines. Rotten Tomatoes.com is giving it lots of hell, but it definitely exceeds the first. The only thing that disappointed me was the final---final fight scene. I will not say who, because I shall not ruin for you.
It was definitely worth standing two hours outside the theatre for and worth my money.

PorkSoda 06-24-2009 07:24 AM

I'm most likely gonna see Transformers this weekend...but I HAVE to know, does Shia Labouf say No at one point during the movie?

Unleashed - 6/10. Liked Jet Li's acting in it. It was very touching. Awesome fight scenes as well, especially the one in the bathroom stall.

LOL, I tried to catch it!!! But I could only catch one I think. There's prolly more. It's a great flick, I hate these fucking critics on rotten tomatoes.

Anyways, I just watched Jersey Girl for the first time and I have to give it a 9/10. Affleck's role was so great. Also, the relationship between him and his daughter was amazingly done. Not to mention, I'm a huge Sweeney Todd mark, so when they perform a scene from it at the end, I about Jizzed in My Pants! I dunno, it's still no Chasing Amy, but I don't think people give as much credit to Kevin Smith for this movie as I think he should.

So once again

Jersey Girl- 9/10

It was still during the intro. And the introduction of the NEST soldiers. And the scenes when Sam's moving out. And the college scenes. Sam getting molested by the Pretender. Mekaila in the shop. Prime and Sam in the graveyard. Megs talking with Fallen. Ravage sneaking around. These are from the top of my head, but I'd say the camera was still more often than not - if we were to count frames, I mean. I understand if you simply missed the aforementioned scenes, sometimes eating popcorn takes a lot of attention away.

Good luck watching future movies. I hope the camera stays perfectly still for whatever you check out later.

Yeah I get that it was tounge-in-cheek/ironic but sadly that alone does not make a good film. The ending was pretty predictable too. I imagine a lot of the people left the cinema thinking it was the worst film they'd ever seen - especially if they didn't "get it".

I really like the other guy in this movie, the guy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Jason Something. Decent cast, but Jason Something really carries the movie. Drags a bit at first.

Why does nobody really like Knowing? I thought it was really good, the ending was a little fooked in the head, but overall, I thought it was great.

Rocky Balboa -10/10. Got to love when you rent movies and they skip, but I thought this movie was awesome how they made Mason the underdog and that nobody cared about him. Then how the fight ended. I haven't seen the first three yet....I think I should.

I'm sorry. He's okay as a sideman in Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. I just didn't think he could carry the entire movie. I think it got an R because in the beginning, Christian Bale shoots some guy and it pans down and you can see part of his intestines or something. Also, when Johnny Depp's friend gets killed in the field, Depp bandages him up and it pans down for a split second, you can see the same effect. Also when Depp died because it showed a bullet going through his head. PG-13 wouldn't show stuff like that

I got a free pass to a movie because this theatre the sound kept buzzing so they had to reset the sound system and start it back up. Super
