Great job defense

Johnny Vegas 11-28-2010 06:30 PM

Im telling you, its the field..our defense is NOT this bad, we just are not used to playing on that field. I will bet anybody $50 bucks that if we played on a field that wasn't as shitty, we'd be better.

Yes, i just said that shit.

McLegend 11-28-2010 07:15 PM

No way Eagles win this game, but that was a great pass and catch by Vick/Celek.

Really could have done without the heart attack of a 4th quarter, but still. Huge road win for us. LOVE Bradford.

Broncos lose. What else is new?

Can we fire McDevil yet?

As it is, next Sunday Night is huge..can't wait.

Probably because he thought he wouldn't get in trouble, since Johnson threw punches. Guess he was wrong.

Oh stfu already. This team, like every team every once in a while, was in need of a rebuild, and it got it. Shanahan would've never had done shit without Elway and Davis, and what a coincidence, never did shit after them. So it's not like everything was golden to begin with. Under Mike Denver had gotten stale and it was time for an overhaul.

Last year Denver overachieved big time, that 8-8 record was really better than the team. But what the hell do you expect when more than half of the roster is cut/traded/whatever? Oh, and btw, I can't remember the exact number, but something like 60% of the Shanahan guys McD got rid of, DIDN'T PLAY IN THE NFL IN 2009. Speaks volumes for the quality of the team everyone seems to miss, doesn't it?

While I can't defend McDaniels for ignoring the defense this offseason, he definitely got the offense where it needs to be. The fact that Orton and the WRs are doing so well is insane when you consider most of the OL and RBs where out the majority of the first half of the season injured.

The defense isn't that good, so that fact that it's been plagued with injuries just makes it worse. The vets who saved the D (kinda) last year are now the reasons it's lacking. Champ and Dawk just don't have it anymore.

But we're only a little more than HALF WAY THROUGH THE SECOND YEAR. I can almost guarantee you this offseason will be spent overhauling the D.

You can't just change coaches and be a Super Bowl contender, especially when you weren't one to begin with. No matter who Denver has as it's coach they aren't going to be the next football messiah, so quit thinking Denver is Super Bowl worthy every year (they haven't been in 5 years) and realize that just like every other damn team in the NFL there will be good years and bad years

Emperor Smeat 11-28-2010 11:23 PM

Last 4 games for Peyton ends up in 7 TDs (1,0,4,2) and 9 INTs (2,0,3,4).

The Gold Standard 11-28-2010 11:59 PM

A nice win today by the Giants. With the Eagles loss, we are back in a tie for first place. Hopefully they do not build me up again just to throw me back to the ground.

My biggest issue with them is they don't seem to have any fire to them when they are losing. I mean maybe I've missed it since I don't see many of their games, but every game I've seen since last season's bye week they have just kind of been on the field with no desire regardless of whether they are winning or losing. When they were 6-0 McDaniels was running up and down the sidelines yelling and screaming, pumping his fist. After they beat New England it's like all the desire left the team. I mean I have kept the faith in McDaniels and Orton the whole time, but something needs to be changed so that a spark can be thrown under the team. Like you're saying I figured this to be a throwaway year (although I was expecting more than 3 wins by this point in the season) and this offseason would be all about defense.

SammyG 11-29-2010 10:54 AM

Stevie johnson deserved to drop that ball because of how retarded he looks.

Emperor Smeat 11-29-2010 07:10 PM

Looks like one reason NFL didn't suspend Andre Johnson even though he threw a few punches at Finnegan was due to Finnegan saying it was his plan all along to get Johnson kicked out or have a fight occur.

No reason was given why NFL didn't just suspend Finnegan due to him being a repeat offender.

He's also a giant douchebag. Oh well, it'll be great watching the Jags kick their ass this week.

Emperor Smeat 11-29-2010 07:32 PM

Yeah I was laughing during the MNF pre-game show on ESPN when they hinted how the NFL probably wasn't upset that someone beat up Finnegan. They didn't explicitly say NFL was happy but the way they explained why it was just a small fine gave off the hint.

Collins is hurt though and the Titans managed to use Moss less than Farve and the Vikings did after his 1st game there.

Jags rushing the ball better than Titans this year and the game probably is going to come down on Garrard and his turnovers since when he's bad, the team looses but when he's normal or good, the team wins.

They had the Giants beat until they suffered their 4th quarter choke. This is more or less the game that will make or break the rest of the Jags season. They have the Raiders at home next week, then they're at Indy, home against the Redskins, and finish the season in Houston.

I guess it could be worse though, I could be a fan of any team in the NFC West. :shifty:

More so true of the NFC West, AFC West, and the AFC South, but I see what you're saying.

Ermaximus 12-03-2010 09:23 AM

God I hope the Jets beat the shit out of the Patriots this Monday. I hope the Chiefs/Broncos game ends in a tie after a final score of 56-56.

Also, Peyton Hillis is just a freaking beast. That dude is going to run all over Miami.

Droford 12-03-2010 04:13 PM

"Get the Cowboys to the Playoffs"

The key is that the Giants and Eagles have to both lose to the Vikings in weeks 14 and 15 respectively, otherwise its not really possible for a 3 way tie with the Giants and Eagles at 8-8 like the scenario I made to get them in.

"Get Brett Favre to the Playoffs as the #2 seed in the NFC"

highly unlikely as they would have to win out to finish 9-7(Buffalo, NYG,Chicago, Philly and Detroit), and the lions would have to beat the Bears and Packers this week and next week

"Give Derek Anderson something to laugh about"
not that crazy when you look at their schedule (St Louis, Denver, @Carolina,Dallas,@SF) but they need help to get in at 8-8

Droford 12-03-2010 04:36 PM

Someone told me there was a scenario where the Jets beat Buffalo week 17 and they're the #1 seed in the AFC but if they lose they miss the playoffs completely. Can't get it to work myself.

Edit:

Buffalo Knocks out the Jets (go to week 17 and switch the Jets to the Bills and watch them magically disappear from the playoffs, replaced by..the..DOLPHINS lol)

Team Sheep 12-04-2010 12:07 PM

IC Champion 12-05-2010 02:49 PM

Emperor Smeat 12-05-2010 04:31 PM

Farve stats were 0 for 1, 0 yds, and 1 INT before getting knocked out of the game. No way Minnesota starts him the next game if he's even healthy since they wasted too many weeks when they could have been developing a new QB or Jackson more.

Every week I don't think it is possible for the Bengals to be worse in a 2 minute warning but this might have been one of the worst just from the time wasting and nobody adjusting for the blitz given away by Saints defense.
