I'm days in with this story. Yeah, Tecmo don't wanna deal with the current PC climate. It's important to note that while this could be chalked up as cowardice, a great deal of feminist and general PC/moralist critique of women in games almost uniformly cite DOA's fighting and beach games and I suppose they would get wind of that. This is their reaction, "Fuck that noise."

The best part really is the SJW reaction, it's literally what conservatives are doing right now about the recent abortion clinic shooting: *Vilifies person/company/group for years* *some logical result happens* "...What? Us? We have nothing to do with that. We don't have a problem with what happened, and in fact we kinda sort of support it, but don't blame us!" It's cowardly in its own right to not own up to the environment you created.

I actually don't have a great deal of sympathy for 'they made me do it' excuses, so you may be surprised that I'm giving Tecmo the majority flak for this. They could simply port the game and not give a fuck. Hell they almost certainly sold more through imports as morale support, and maybe that can tell them that people don't really take the ideological smears seriously. It would also be a black eye to the fucks who think certain games shouldn't exist, which is always fun.

But yeah, Tecmo being a spooked is a bad look.

DOAX sells more in the west (US, UK) than Japan itself. Itagaki mentioned this before in the past. And that's not even a quality argument statistic; it's common sense given the sheer potential buyer population of western markets. Think about what you're saying: because DOAX "sells like shit", they're going to block it from major markets. I know for a fact that you know better than this, Has. It already has english translation; selling to the west would easily make up for getting the DOA5 actresses back for a few lines. That's literally all they would need to add.

Also, two different reps of different departments from Tecmo said the same thing about why it's not coming herein rather candid posts. And the press release's language was still curiously acquiesce to those very posts. It did not explain why it's Japan only, and especially after a relatively successful resurgence with DOA5 and its updates. It did say however:

I reiterate that I put this on Tecmo for succumbing to feminist critique calling for games like this to cease to exist. So I'm not out to just put any ill action on feminist. But this particular case is hilariously clear. It's not sales or VA production costs, it's ideological minefield gaming is becoming.

Of course it sold like shit in Japan before this, it was on XBox. Overall, Xtreme 2 sold about 250k worldwide. It's pointless to even print the discs at this point and at best, it'd come out as digital only. Which it probably will eventually now, as they have the easily offended internet Neanderthals all riled up and supporting it.

It's just weird, because much more sexual games have come out on Vita and no-one made a peep. No-one made a peep about this game until DOAs social media person made retracted comments.

I'm probably going to import the game if the volleyball is as good as the first one, the second one unfortunately fucked the gameplay up. It just seems like a manufactured controversy that the usual fools have sold solidarity to.

It is rich who you are saying is the easily offended. Rich. But to humor; what's got people riled up? The concept that a publisher is not releasing a game in a region due to media backlash? Good. Nobody wants to see that happen with any game. Dismiss as easily offended if you wish.

Tecmo has nothing to do with these much more sexual games on Vita, so I don't see why that's 'weird'.

The volleyball will not be as good because Itagaki is no longer making the game.

If they thought it would make money they'd localise it in a heartbeat. There wasn't really a backlash, just someone predicting an imagined backlash and the newssites running with it. I think they just don't want to take any sort of risk or scale up the development cost when they can do nothing and have people import it.

Reading articles about this though is pretty good. Everyone furiously flicking through the logical fallacy scrapbook. It's just a strawman tu cocque appeal to a true scotsman that those pesky JEWS, I mean SJWs, did it.

Also nothing has changed really. When DOAX 1 came out the Jan/Feb '03 issue of Edge Magazine released "The Girl Issue" and devoted most of the editorial to the place that the game had in the industry and in the west, and went on to look at the roles and treatment of women in games and their coverage.

Haven't encountered any of these long load time problems in Just Cause 3 myself. Still pretty fucking stupid to connect a single player game to your servers. You can put it in offline mode, but then you can't see the map. The fuck.

Regardless the game is fucking great. It's just a playground of massive explosions. The map, like the last game, is humongous, dwarfing other open world games. There is still a lot of "nothing space" but it's more detailed now. Even an empty field looks gorgeous from the air, which is where you will be spending most of your time. Wingsuit is tits btw.

The prologue mission has you standing on top of a plane firing a rocket launcher at anti air installments. Take from that what you will.

There's apparently a memory leak? So if you play for hours in one session, they'll get longer. Not that it really matters since you can just close and restart the game.

Yeah, it's pretty much a prettier Just Cause 2 with a bunch of cool new gimmicks. One other neat thing I'll add, is that I've been flying around the map, and all the bases look unique. They didn't just cut and padte the same 4 or 5 bases like the last one
