Rewatched the entirety of “The Smoking Room” and it’s still mint. Only downside is the obese thing in it. I’d have bet any money she’d be dead by now.
|
Started a re-watch of House MD. Love this show
|
Shoresy season 3 release announced :D
May 24 here in Canada (Crave) June 21 in the US (Hulu) |
Tb1 is having his gf and I watch Fallout. The female lead, of course, is who has The Fraze's attention.
|
She's like a newer version of Winnie from The Wonder Years.
|
The kid from The Wonder Years was one of a few that people said The Fraze looked like at that age. Also, the girl from Fallout is beautiful. Caught my eye when Tb1 had us watch Yellowjackets as well.
|
I've finished Farscape. The two-episode mini series that concluded the show, 'The Peacekeeper Wars,' felt very 'Americanized;' a lot of the show's quirks had been sanitised for North American audiences. However, it was a decent send-off, even if there was a couple of cheap deaths ('You tell'em who their daddy is!').
I'm on to Shogun now. I've only watched one episode so far, but I'm all in. The actor who plays the Englishman reminds me a lot of Tom Hardy, which helps sell it to me. |
Shogun is amazing but you'll grow to hate it. Too woke for your critical drinker-simping ass.
|
Feudal Japan famous for it’s wokeness

I haven't gotten a chance to watch the actual show yet, though. |
Me either, might give it a bash tonight.
|
Episode 6 of Fallout had a lot of closeups on Ella Purnell's face and The Fraze was pleased.
|
Quote:
I've got two episodes left. I've loved this series. Hiroyuki Sanada has been an absolute boss; a fantastic foundation that the show has been built upon. It is only a limited series, but I hope they will come back to this world and tell other stories. |
Shogun is finished. Fantastic show; perhaps an early contender for show of the year. The ending threw me off, but I appreciate what they did.
I'm halfway through Shardlake at the moment. It is fine, even if the world building is a bit incongruent. Plenty of bigotry towards the physically deformed, but no racial discrimination in Tudor England. See the above show for how world building should be done. |
Do they call midgets “shorty” and all of that great stuff?
|
Crookback, and plenty of people crossing themselves.
|
Finished Fallout with Tb1 and his gf, it was "fine." Ella Purnell's face was The Fraze's main interest for the entirety of the season.
|
How "into it" were you? Enough to theorize about shit? I GOT QUESTIONS MAN!
|
I still haven't watched the second half of Shardlake; I'll get to it soon. Most of my viewing has been watching the Giro d'Italia, which will keep me occupied for the 2.5 weeks.
I have, however, been re-watching a 4-part series that I haven't seen since it was broadcast back in 2008: The Devil's Whore. It stars Andrea Riseborough, Dominic West, Michael Fassbender and John Simm. It is set during the English Civil War. If you like historical drama with a slight weird bent, check it out. I also watched a few episodes of Spin City the other day. It still needs to get going, but Michael J. Fox is holding things together. Parkinson's is a bastard. |
El Vaquero watches the shows that your parents might watch so that you don’t have to
|
How often do you actually watch Countryfile
|
I never watch Countryfile, you bastard!
I'm not sure if The Devil's Whore is for the Countryfile set. |
Watching Baby Reindeer. Only 1 ep in but seems solid

I've finished Shardlake. It was ultimately something and nothing, and the story didn't need 4 episodes; it could have been resolved in a two-hour episode.
I'm going to finish The Devil's Whore tomorrow, and then I need to decide what to watch next. |
Finished up the final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Wasn't a great season but the finale was pretty good.
SPOILER: show Will miss the show. |
I’ll have to binge that ASAP
|
Would like to hear Destor and Seanny's thoughts on Baby Reindeer. Thought that was pretty riveting stuff.
|
Doesn’t seem like my sort of thing. I’ll ask my elderly mother if she enjoyed it.
|
Riveting is the right word and i thought the finale was deftly handled
SPOILER: show All that said every episode was very punchy and i always was left wanting to see what happens next. The acting was great and i think both leads should at least be nominated for emmys. Its a story so outrageous its hard to believe and then also it sounds about right. Really skirts that line. Extremely unique show in a ton of ways that will make it very memorable long term. |
Tires was an easy watch.
|
I've finished watching the late 1990s/early 2000s satirical show, Brass Eye. It is absolutely ruthless. You couldn't make this show today; it's too close to the bone.
I'm currently watching the first season of The Good Wife. I like it, though I don't know if it is because of the show, itself, or because Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi are absolute foxes. |
Just binged through that Shane Gillis show on Netflix, Tires. Fell a bit flat for me (ha ha, tire pun). Through the six episodes there were probably about 3-4 jokes that gave me a pretty good laugh, but overall felt a bit disjointed. First season stuff. I'll probably check out season 2 whenever it comes out
|
MILF Manor
|
Watched first episode of S3 of Shoresy last night. Amazing. The walking competition the b'ys did was peak.
|
I've started the final season of Star Trek: Discovery. The Michael Burnham character remains one of the most irritating, sanctimonious individuals that ST have ever created. I thought Janeway was a pain, but Burnham takes the cake. The identity politics ideological lecturing also persists, but at this point, I've learned to just roll my eyes when they indulge in it. I'm just going to get through it, and then never watch the series ever again.
I'm also coming to the end of season 1 of The Good Wife. I like it enough to continue on to the next season. |
I hear so many polarizing/negative things about Discovery. Fiancee loves everything Trek so I've watched a few episodes with her. There was an early episode where they were like "Do you want to be remembered as other visionaries such as the Wright Brothers or Elon Musk?" and it felt really hamfisted and stupid lol
|
I watched the first few episodes of it when it first started. I'm a Star Trek fan (not a fanatic, but love TNG, DS9). A lot of it definitely felt forced and they weren't shy about it. Made it rather cringy and moved on immediately.
|
I have now thankfully finished the final season of Star Trek: Discovery. I hope never to watch that bag of wank ever again.
I'm coming to the end of season 3 of The Good Wife. I'm also rewatching season 3 of The Boys before starting the new season. |
Tour de France is taking up a lot of my viewing at the moment.
I am also onto season 5 of The Good Wife. The show seemed to have a tonal/style shift in season 4. It's neither better nor worse, just slightly different. I can't really explain it. |
Just because, I watched the last season of Pokémon. Final 12 episodes with Ash. Weird at how he can still be 10 years old after so much journeying around the world.
Was some wholesome stuff... traveled with Misty and Brock the OGs again, as was fitting for the final episodes.... |
I'm on to the final season of The Good Wife. It feels like it has lost its way now, but remains stronger than you would expect it to be. I think that is down to the change in tone/style in season 5, which gave it a spark life. However, that has now waned. I'll probably watch its spin-offs, The Good Fight and Elsbeth.
I've nearly finished fourth season of The Boys. It has been kind of something and nothing. |
I need to re-watch season 1 of GOT: House of the Dragon, before I start season 2.
The Critical Drinker has also recommended a show, set in 16th century Korea, about samurai and zombies. I feel like that will be a winning combination. |
I watched that Alan Carr comedy about growing up the other night. Surprisingly good, but then Alan Carr is undeniably funny. I’m just amazed they found a kid ugly enough.
|
Watched The Last Samurai again. 7/10 because of Tom Cruise's middle tooth.
|
Almost done w/ Batman: Caped Crusader
Very good...favorite episode so far has probably been the Harley Quinn one |
Watching Stargirl season 3.... watched season 2 on my vacation during various layovers and other down time...

Started Kaleidoscope. Watched 1 ep. I'll stick with it but i strongly dislike there being a random ep order for each viewer. The idea of it annoys me.
|
I finished The Good Wife, and I'm now on the final season of The Good Fight. I've liked this spin-off series, even though the seasons during the Trump administration leaned hard into the Trump Derangement Syndrome and far-left identity politics. At least they explored the issues inside out and refrained from too much lecturing. However, I don't think this spin-off will age as well as The Good Wife, due to the identity politics.
Once The Good Fight is over, I'm going to watch the other Good Wife spin-off, Elsbeth, which is apparently like Columbo. I re-watched season 1 of the GoT: House of the Dragon, and then proceeded to watch season 2. Whilst the second season remained watchable, it seemed to meander for much of it. Hopefully, season 3 will have more impetus to it. |
I made it through like...20 min of HoD s1.
|
I also tried to watch Those About to Die, but I didn't go beyond the first episode. It was just naff: the script, the acting, the pacing, everything.
If I want a good Rome-related drama, I'll stick to Rome, I Claudius or Spartacus. |
Bad Monkey is good, watch that.
|
Binged a show called “Mr Inbetween” a few weeks ago. Brilliant.
It’s an Australian crime comedy about a hit man and each episode is twenty minutes long and tighter than I thought possible. I recommend it to everyone. |

Also, I don't think I ever went back to La Brea. |
It was tits. One of the most satisfying programs I’ve seen in years.
|
House Of The Dragon was fairly shit, season one a lot less so than season two but it’s not great. Paddy Considine deserved some support that could live up to his qualities, he was a man amongst amoeba. Season two lacked any gravitas at all, Matt Smith is dreadful.
|
Second season of Beavis and Butthead is good. Good to see the guys again.
|
Been watching Heels since it went up on Netflix. I'm invested enough to keep watching. Now I'm understanding why Stephen Amell got some actual wwe matches a while back.
|
Trying to get through Horizon: An American Saga part 1.
it's 3 hours, at least on Max. It's a LOT like 1883, and there's even some of the same actors in the movie. I get why they shit on it in theatres. There wasn't a TON of advertising. They moved it to Max quickly in hopes it would get exposure and parts 2 and 3 will do better in theatres. Gotten about halfway through it, it's pretty good. |
Watching the Mr. McMahon doc. Halfway through and other than a couple of moments here and there, I haven't learned anything new. Been more of a "history of wwe" than Vince. Yeah, they're asking him questions like how he felt when X left for WCW but I'm watching to learn about Vince, not relive the Monday Night Wars.
|
Forgot that came out, sucks to hear it's underwhelming.
|
I watched the Franklin series with Michael Douglas, which was fine. Douglas was good in it, but otherwise, it was something and nothing.
I've also finished Elsbeth. I found it rather underwhelming; a poor man's Columbo. I'm currently watching season 5 of Arrow. I'm sure I've already seen this season, but I don't mind rewatching it before moving on to season 6. Felicity Smoak remains ridiculously hot. I'm deciding whether I should finally watch The Ring of Power. The Drinker has ripped that series to shreds, and I trust his judgement on these matters. |
S5 of Arrow was when i stopped watching it. When the billionaire driven to vigilanteism due to rampant government incompetence and out of control crime started proselytizing about gun control and as mayor enforced a gun ban on an entire metropolitan, while might i add having a crew of vigilantes two of which actively used firearms, my eyes rolled so far back into my head i nearly had a seizure.
|
The preachy, ham-fisted gun control episode was tiresome, but I largely ignored it.
|
It was just jarringly tone deaf to the shows own premise. Any other setting id have groaned and rolled my eyes.
|
I'm coming to the end of Arrow season 6. I've quite liked this season, even if it has featured a lot of Katie Cassidy, who can't act for shit.
I re-watched season 1 of Fargo. I'd forgotten how good the first season was, and how much fun Billy Bob Thornton had in it. I've started the second season, which I remember not particularly liking the first time round. I don't think I've seen seasons 3 onwards. I'm thinking of re-watching The Expanse, until it is time for the second seasons of The Silo and Arcane. I also need to watch The Penguin. |
Fargo is so unreasonably good. Chris Rock season was meh
|
As I needed a dystopian fix, I decided to try out Snowpiercer. I've watched the first three episodes and I'm enjoying it. We'll see where it goes.
|
DOUG (90s TV Channel on Pluto) best thing ever !!!!
Doug is so relatable |
All caught up to present day on Superman and Lois..... Season 4 definitely feeling weird via them axing all the main cast sans the main Super-family..... the supporting cast has shown up, but not in every episode, and sometimes some show up and you wonder why others wouldn't be there....
Have also noticed a distinct rise in flashbacks... I guess with a slashed budget and only so many actors to use you have to stretch it out.... But overall S4 has been good I guess... obviously some v emotional moments... and badass Lex Luthor.... |
I'm at the beginning of Snowpiercer season 2. I actually quite like this show. It is nothing special, but it keeps my attention, unlike series 7 of Arrow. Not even the hotness of Felicity Smoak can keep my attention on what is going on in that show. I've finished season 7, but I don't think I'll bother with the final one.
|
First half of season 7 was strong with Oliver in jail, and the best crossover. The 2nd half with his sister really put a damper on that season.
|
Yeah, I liked the first half.
|
Same, first half I remember thinking "Arrow is good again, cool"
|
Bad Monkey was very good. One of those sun set lazy detective deals with a strong comedic base and some very light black patches that tease the “Fargo” fan inside.
Rob Delaney is excellent in it, especially at the end. |
New season of WWDITS is pretty sweet too. I think the first three seasons were so funny that season four got away with being a bit pants without too many people noticing.
|
Penguin wrapped up. Brilliant show, I'd watch it again. Still can't believe that Colin Farrell is playing the lead. I never would have known if there weren't credits.
New Yellowstone started. Giving it a few weeks to simmer so I can binge it. |
I binge-watched an eleven-part documentary on Star Trek over the weekend. Roddenberry seems like he was a right arsehole. Otherwise, very interesting.
|
I've finished Snowpiercer. While I found the first two seasons interesting and entertaining, from the start of the third season onwards my attention started to wane, and by the end of the show I really didn't care. I only kept watching because I have inappropriate (but legal) thoughts about Rowan Blanchard. I also came to the conclusion, at some point in season 3, that none of them really deserved to survive.
I've started the mini-series, The Regime, with Kate Winslet. It is supposed to be some form of satire, but everything seems to fall flat. I'm only two episodes in, so perhaps it will improve. I couldn't wait for Xmas before watching season 2 of Arcane. However, I will wait until I've finished it before giving my thoughts. |
I abandoned The Regime after episode three. Blah.
I've reactivated my Paramount+ subscription on Amazon, and I'm getting my Taylor Sheridan fix. Rewatched season 1 of Lioness, and I've now started season 2. I'm waiting for all the episodes of Landsman and Yellowstone to come out before watching them. As I have my Paramount+ subscription, I'm also revisiting the 'proper' Star Trek series: TNG, DS9 and Voyager. I'm on season 2 of TNG (I skipped season 1 as it is atrocious), and the handful of episodes I've watched thus far have had better acting, character development and script than Discovery, Strange New Worlds, Picard; combined. |
Damn..... just got emotionally wrecked at the Superman & Lois series finale.... during a really emotional/sad movie scene I might let one manly tear drop.... but during this thing I let down several damn tears.... def not manly...
Gonna put on Skeleton Crew now as a pick me up |
Did superman retire and leave the caping to his kids

It’s as dark as Batman material can go really. If they had gone further it would have been absurd. They hit just the right amount of “what the fuck”. |
Running through Futureman again, Wolf is pure comedy
|
“Dune: Prophecy” is pretty good so far. There is some questionable acting at times, in fact some of it is downright awful but the world they have built is undeniably interesting and great to look at. I just hope they open the whole thing up and milk the franchise as it should rightly have been by now.
