I thought his name was chosen because in Japan, the name Hideo means "excellent man" and Itami is Japanese for "pain".

To be fair, WWE TV has been bogged down with unnecessary filler as of late, and nobody does unnecessary filler like Naruto.

Just picked up a stress-relieving tip that you can go to http://www.wwe.com/superstars/ryback and see all tweets the Big Man puts out, but usually deletes on Twitter. WWE keeps them all in a timeline for us there

My dad and I were both huge Goldberg marks during his WCW run and loved watching him destroy everyone. Even now my dad still talks about Goldberg. It was one of my favourite times watching wrestling, with my dad.

Heisenberg 09-21-2014 12:37 PM

I meant every Thunder instead of RAW, I was deployed during his 2003 run, how did everyone take to that?

whiteyford 09-21-2014 01:40 PM

He shot himself in the foot by taking time off to shoot the Oscar worthy Santas Slay, he was only signed for a year but only really got showcased like the WCW version in the chamber match, can't really blame them for investing so little in a guy who is only realistically there 10months.

What was the reasoning supposed to be behind Goldberg walking with all that security all the time.... was it supposed to be that he was an uncontrollable monster who had to be contained in his locker room and then escorted to the ring lest he get loose and go on a rampage? Or is it just that he was just constantly worried about attackers?

It's how boxing introductions are done coming with an entourage. Probably done just to be different/build suspense.

I would have liked a bit where someone knocked on his door, and when he opened it, he got swarmed by a bunch of thugs.

Listened to it earlier. It was like listening to 2 JRs waxing lyrical about the "good ol' days" and not taking into account that modern media consumption/expectations are different to what they were 40 years ago. I agree about the "selling" issue, but it was a bit tiresome listening to the phrase "don't understand the business" 40 times and the expectation that the only way heels should get the upper-hand/win is by cheating. Hate things painted in such black/white terms.

It was reported how WWE plans on pushing NXT star Baron Corbin and we've seen his recent squash wins over CJ Parker. Corbin worked longer matches against Parker at this weekend's NXT live events and reports from all three nights noted how impressive he was. Cassandra Frazier, the widow of former WWE Superstar Nelson "Big Daddy V" Frazier, tells Examiner.com that she has received less than $100 from Frazier's former tag team partner and longtime friend Bobby "Sir Mo" Horne, who collected money from fans and others in the business. When Frazier passed in February of this year, Horne reportedly gathered funds to help with Frazier's debt and funeral costs. Horne reportedly raised "a large sum" from the wrestling industry and Cassandra now says she received less than $100 from those funds. She said: "I initially thought no one cared, no one remembered Nelson. I thought how can these people be so cruel but then I found out they did care and so many tried to help but I never received a dime that was sent to Bobby (Horne)."

According to this story, Horne was taking donations through his Paypal account at first but later allowed fans to send money directly to Cassandra. Cassandra claims she still didn't see any money from Horne.

Superstars featured in new WrestleMania 31 promotional material for the travel packages are Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Big E and Bad News Barrett. Cena is front and center on the material.

Some other dirtsheets stuff include Aires and Gail Kim as the next possible big names leaving soon from TNA and TNA themselves teasing a tv deal might be announced next week.

Couldn't get through the latest JR podcast with Watts.listening to 2 old wrestling minds pretend you can run the business the same as 40+ years ago got old fast. I love JR and respect his opinion but the idea that a 1970s approach to wrasslin would work today is ludicrous. I also disagree about the match structure. The current in ring, bell to bell action is as good as it's ever been, and the current champion is a legit, even old school like draw. This whole "doesn't know the business" bs is just that.

XL 09-22-2014 06:35 PM

I said the exact same thing in the thread about podcasts.

Damian Rey 09-22-2014 07:57 PM

Bad News Gertner 09-22-2014 08:38 PM
