Because XX was thug rapper Cena and Legend Killer in all his glory Randy Orton

Lock Jaw 03-22-2016 01:36 PM

Yeah.... worded it wrong.... I meant since WMXX they have not missed a Mania....

Rammsteinmad 03-22-2016 01:47 PM

Shit totally forgot about Randy Orton!

Evil Vito 03-22-2016 01:51 PM

Figures Cena and Orton would finally miss a Mania and they'd still manage to churn out a Mania that looks so bad that I'm not going to be watching live for the first time since I started watching wrestling (first Mania for me was WM15).

What is this statement supposed to mean...... that without Cena and Orton the show should have been a better one?

Emperor Smeat 03-22-2016 02:10 PM

Yeup. WWE would have been forced to have done a lot better job at building new top stars like in the past whenever the old top stars no longer could bail them out of a mess.

They don't have Cena (and Orton) as the usual fallback panic options but at the same time doesn't seem like they care about fixing the serious issues that's plagued them for years.

Pretty much what Smeat said. Maybe not necessarily a better show but one that would require a little bit of effort on the part of creative to build new people. Instead they put the title on a semi-retired guy and brought back Shane McMahon.

Monday's episode of WWE RAW, featuring Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman in the main event, drew 3.399 million viewers. This is down from last week's 3.457 million viewers for a show loaded with many top WrestleMania 32 stars.

For this week's show, the first hour drew 3.466 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.416 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.317 million viewers.

For last week's show, the first hour drew 3.471 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.392 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.510 million viewers, breaking the usual third hour drop.
For some comparison on how bad's its gotten, WWE has lost almost a million viewers since Shane's return for this year's Road to Mania.

A WWE fan was escorted out of the arena after striking Braun Strowman in the face during the dark main event after last night's WWE RAW in Philadelphia. As noted, that match saw The Wyatt Family take on Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Roman Reigns, the same match where Luke Harper suffered an apparent knee injury.

The fan was reportedly quickly pulled from his seat by WWE security and taken away.

After several fan incidents in 2015, WWE stated that they could look at pressing charges for all future incidents.

Roode's contract expired around 11-12 days ago. He and TNA had a verbal agreement for a new contract for less money (because TNA has no money) but at the tapings this week he changed his mind and gave his notice.

Young was under contract, but thought he wasn't getting enough money. TNA agreed that if he dropped the TV title, they would release him from his contract.

Meltzer talks about late payments and says he's heard stories about at least one wrestler who had to wait months to be payed a relatively small amount of money. Says this played into Roode and Young's growing frustration with the company.

Morale was said to be really low at the tapings, with the general feeling being that TNA is going nowhere.
Update on TNA's recent departures. Observer hinted the WWE is currently interested in both guys.

WWE's website just spoke with 2016 WWE Hall of Famer Sting about the induction and his in-ring future. The full interview can be found at this link. Sting revealed that he did not have surgery after suffering the neck injury in the WWE Night of Champions match with Seth Rollins last year. Sting saw two neurologists, one in Houston and WWE's Dr. Joseph Maroon, and both said the same thing - Sting wasn't having any of the side effects he should have had. Sting said he's feeling good and completely normal. Below are highlights from the interview:

It had been reported that you were diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Is that diagnosis now inaccurate?

"I am not saying that is inaccurate. I'm agreeing there probably is spinal stenosis or cervical spinal stenosis. I have had certain doctors tell me, 'You know, so many athletes of all ages, they've got this. They deal with it to some degree or another.' I had one doctor here tell me, 'You're fine, you're okay — you don't have anything to worry about.' And then wrestlers say, 'I'd see this doctor.' 'No, I'd see this one over there.' I'm telling you, it's just craziness. So I'm thinking, as long as I'm feeling good, why am I going to do anything? And the one thing everyone has said is don't go under the knife unless you absolutely have to."

Had you not had this injury setback last September, do you think we would have you seen performing at WrestleMania this year? Or, is that just too tough a question to answer because of all the variables?

"Oh no, it's an easy one to answer: Yes. If I had my way, yes, of course. I would have loved to have done one more WrestleMania and I would have called it quits at that point. The Undertaker match — that's what I wanted to do. "

Had there been any early discussions prior to the injury of what your role could be at WrestleMania 32? Or, was it just something that you had in your mind?

"Yes, it was in my mind, of course, but everyone knew that I definitely wanted to have that one match. And, of course, WrestleMania would have been the place to do it. But, I got hurt and the rest is history."

As noted, "Daniel Bryan Appreciation Night" has been postponed after being announced for Friday's WWE live event at Madison Square Garden. WWE and MSG cited a scheduling conflict.

It should be noted that Bryan is no longer advertised for this weekend's WWE live event in Trenton, NJ and the post-WrestleMania 32 tour of the UK. It appears WWE has canceled all upcoming "Daniel Bryan Appreciation Night" festivities at live events.

There's not enough to between now and WrestleMania for the smark crowd to fall out of love with them so they'll get the expected reaction. Feel like it's all downhill from there though. They're in WWE-style silly babyface mode now. All bad.

The more the writers get their hands on their shit, the worse off they'll be. BUT in saying that, you do have three incredibly savvy guys who are probably pretty into the idea of keeping their spots now and I hope I hope I hope they decide to do some politicking. Honestly, I feel like a lot of these youngsters are afraid to politic, but you DO NEED to protect your spot. It clearly helped the shield as all of them are still featured heavily (regardless if you fully agree with their direction) on television.

If all of a sudden 2 weeks after mania, Vince says "Big E, we need you to job to Demon Kane" he needs to say "nah...". At the end of the day, while I get the WWE is the big leagues, these guys can make good money elsewhere and need to start backing themselves.

If it's a ladder match, then fuck yeah. Want as many talented dudes as possible in there and I'd rather they dropped Sin Cara and Ryder for AJ and Jericho. Individual feuds can be sorted at Extreme Rules, but I'd rather have a clusterfuck.

No thoughts on Ryback V Kalisto. Would rather Kalisto be in the ladder match, but it just looks like a boring match.

WHAT

It is like they are intentionally doing the worst things possible....

So, instead of having Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn in a one on one blood feud type match.... they are now both stuck into a multi-man ladder match.

Meanwhile Kallisto gets the one on one match spot against Ryback. Kallisto, the guy who you would think would be the one to fit right in defending his title in a multi-man ladder match if they wanted one.

This seems totally ass backwards to me.

Kallisto really "started to break out" in a ladder match, winning that OMG Moment Slammy.... why would you not put him in the ladder match.....

Here are some excerpts…

On returning to WWE:

Well, for one, I don’t want to go back right now. Two, between 2008 and 2013, I got four DUIs. As a publicly traded company, it doesn’t matter if you’re Kurt Angle, Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Undertaker, when you get involved in that kind of trouble consistently, that’s the last thing they need. So when I did try and go back a year and a half ago, I think they were thinking “Let’s see how he pans out, let’s see if he can stay clean, let’s see if he got his shit together” so I think that’s part of it. I don’t blame them for that. I actually knew ahead of time that they were most likely going to say no. And I knew it was because of my own actions. But being clean now for three years and abiding by what I have to, I know that there will come a time where I will go back.

On why he left WWE in 2006:

There are a lot of reasons. The main reason was the work schedule. I was probably on the road over 300 days a year. I was getting injured quite a bit. I did have a problem with painkillers. When they brought me into ECW, I felt like it was a demotion. Even though it wasn't. I don't think they planned it to be. They didn't mean to, but they set that company up to fail. And I felt like I was part of it ...

On Jason Jordan and Chad Gable:

For me to go back and, if I do go back I’d love to be able to wrestle, but I know I can’t do it full time. I’m 47 years-old. And that’s why those guys would be perfect as my team, like a Team Angle, because they could do the wrestling for me until the big one comes. So it would be kind of cool to have that. I’m not going to say those guys are going to be my guys, but they’re almost ready to come up – if not they are ready. I’ve watched them wrestle and they’re really good. It would be really cool to have a new Team Angle. I could do the big matches; the Summerslams and the Wrestlemanias. I think that would be a good mix. And it would also give them a great rub, a rub that they need. We’ll see if we do something like that, I don’t know if it’s on the cards, but you never know.

Bad News Gertner 03-23-2016 10:10 PM

Lol it's a Teddy Hart interview. That's the best way I can describe it. He's a gem.

DaveWadding 03-23-2016 10:22 PM

"One of the women says that she wasn't a sex worker until Teddy pimped her out, and that he drained her of $229,000 in a matter of months, mostly for weed and cat food."

Fignuts 03-24-2016 12:52 AM

Why the fuck does rollingstone give a fuck about teddy hart?

Like, how is he even on their radar?

DaveWadding 03-24-2016 01:01 AM

Rolling Stone has been putting out surprisingly good wrestling features for a while now. I can't explain how or why though.

Seems like a smart move to me

Lock Jaw 03-24-2016 09:12 PM

What if everyone in the IC match got injured in the span of five minutes....

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 10:30 PM

Zack Ryder and Sin Cara in the IC Title Ladder Match. Didn't see that coming.

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 10:53 PM

I wonder how this card would have looked with John Cena and Randy Orton there? I always imagined Orton to be facing Bray Wyatt, but with Wyatt hurt would Orton vs. Harper be happening?

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:19 PM

I'm really surprised that Chris Masters hasn't ended up back in the WWE. The guy is still built like a brick house, he's got more experience than when they called him up green as fuck, he's still in the business, he seems like a cool guy, he saved his mother from a burning house with a fucking tree, and he's still only 33 fucking years old.

There's some real money left on the table with this dude.

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:40 PM

After hearing a few people joke about Hogan possibly becoming Dixie Carter's new TNA investor, a bizarre thought popped into my head: Could you ever envision Hogan starting up his own wrestling promotion?

How much money do you think a legitimate start-up for something would cost? Is there room in the market for it? Could Hogan viably go to Spike TV and say "Look, brothers -- I'm not going to have anything to do with the creative of this product, we've got this guy for that, but I'm going to lend it my credibility as the biggest star wrestling has ever had. Will you give us two hours on Thursday, brothers? Maybe just a one year tryout?"

Bring in Kevin Sullivan and a Kevin Sullivan team to book it. Lock down guys like Bobby Roode and Eric Young that are free. Bring in guys like Chris Masters and talk to Carlito about coming back over from Puerto Rico. Make sure Ken Anderson is sober and bring him in. Sign The LAX for the tag team side. Bring in great workers like Chris Hero and get them to choose guys they work really well with on the indy scene -- like "Speedball" Mike Bailey. Sign Kota Ibushi to be your cruiserweight sensation. Maybe even bring in a few women like Taya and Amazing Kong (if she's healthy and has her mind in the right place) and have them fight over the NWA Women's Championship to give it some attention.

Oh, and sign Kurt fucking Angle and Goldberg and hope that you can work something out with Lucha Underground where you can spotlight a select few of their talent during off-season, so you can have Rey Mysterio come in and or have a PPV kick off with a Fenix vs. Pentagon, Jr. match, or just have Johnny Mundo's abs on television.

Eventually more talent will come over from TNA. Bobby Lashley, James Storm, The American Wolves and The Hardys (imagine a Matt Hardy vs. Awesome Kong freak show clash on PPV) are probably your real targets. Maybe EC3. Hell, maybe you eventually dissolve TNA into your product and just quietly refresh a lot of the guys there that are really good but have TNA stink on them. Eventually you might even get a few people from the WWE side jump over -- Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger, Cesaro, The New Day (if they get fucked up and blamed for it), etc. Fuck, you might even be able to land a HUGE signing like Randy Orton, who sometimes seems to be frustrated by the WWE's general direction.

Hogan may or may not get the money, and he's probably done with anything ambitious in wrestling. He'd probably make mention of investing somewhere just to scare Vince into paying him even more money not to and just sit at home. But man, if there's a rich guy with some sort of connection to wrestling that might have something to prove to Vince? It's Hogan. It's my pipe-dream and I'm allowed to have it.

Droford 03-24-2016 11:46 PM

Itd kinda be weird if Sin Cara won the IC title and the lucha Dragons had the IC and US titles..

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:48 PM

Pay Jim Ross a shit tonne of money to come back and do commentary with Jim Cornette. Have Cornette play a "what has wrestling become?" heel color guy that laughs at the little guys when they drive each other on their heads.
"Somebody call Cheeseburger's mom, the sauce is a little off."

Work as hard as you can with other promotions like ROH, New Japan, AAA and the NWA to bring in some of their talent, name-drop their usual promotion, give them a good showing and then send them off on their way with a lot more exposure. You'd position yourself as the babyface mega-company.

I'm thinking something weird might happen with the IC Title at WrestleMania. Like Stardust wins it and it snaps him back into being Cody Rhodes, or Zack Ryder or Sin Cara win it. The title has been on Dolph Ziggler and The Miz so many times at this point that it won't help either one of them and might even hurt them. Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn seem like more obvious picks, but they could take each other out and continue their rivalry away from the title. In some weird sort of way, Zack Ryder or Sin Cara winning would actually make a whole lot of sense since they're in there.

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:50 PM

I wonder if they put the belt on Ryder just to eventually do the Mojo snap and turn on him?

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:52 PM

Sin Cara seems really flat at the moment, but there would be something cool if he got to the top of the ladder, took off his mask and revealed himself to the world and sort of "matured" into this more human character. It'd make it stand out as a moment more.

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:53 PM

It really confuses me how they want to have more Hispanic stars, but then have this guy under a mask just pointing at things being a peripheral character. The same goes for Epico y Primo doing that shitty comedy gimmick. Why they aren't doing something more valuable, even if it is low on the card, is beyond me.

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2016 11:54 PM

Carlito seems more ready than ever for a return to the WWE. Given that, unlike Del Rio, he actually seems to fit within the entertainment paradigm of WWE, I could imagine this being the year where they give him another shot. The New Day vs. The Colons -- I can see it.

Dana Brooke was actually pretty cool last I saw of her, but she needs to be the second in that group as she learns. Then she can turn on Evil Emma and make Evil Emma our hero Evil Emma.

Droford 03-25-2016 12:15 AM

New Day vs Luchas for all belts

Cause New Day having almost all the belts would be great

Mr. Nerfect 03-25-2016 12:40 AM

That would fucking rock.

Mr. Nerfect 03-25-2016 12:40 AM

Have Kofi Kingston as the IC Champion, Xavier Woods hamming it up as the United States Champion and Big E goes after the World Title. :y:

Mr. Nerfect 03-25-2016 12:40 AM

A bit early for Big E, granted, but he doesn't need to succeed first time out.

Cannot believe there a people out there who still want to hear what this out of touch dinosaur has to say about anything anymore. When Russo is coming out with more sense than you, something is definitely wrong.
