Assassin's Creed: Syndicate will be finished tomorrow. Hopefully Gamestop got a deal going where I can get the most out of my trade in with Black Friday and all.

Back to Destiny...........again.

Disturbed316 11-29-2015 01:19 AM

Still working my way through MGS:V, currently at 60% overall but got about 15 side ops and main missions remaining.

road doggy dogg 11-29-2015 02:07 AM

Late November list of games I've been playing lately:

Yoshi's Woolly World (super fun. Annoying left my apartment for the Thanksgiving weekend so haven't had a chance to play it much...)
Mighty Switch Force 2 (picked it up cheap on eShop. Also compelled me to go back and finish the first one and try to par a few courses. Awesome short fun games, I love Wayforward)
Pokemon Shuffle (because I hate life)
Pokemon Y
Fallout 4
Diablo 3
Dota 2
Overwatch (just the beta but super fun, looks promising)
Heroes of the Storm

Beat Fallout 4

Wife got me for Christmas:
COD: Black Ops 3
Guitar Hero Live
Metal Gear Solid V
Elder Scrolls Online

drave 11-30-2015 10:09 AM

Sounds like a nice Christmas.

Let me know what you think of the new Guitar Hero and Elder Scrolls. I was close to buying ESO, but stopped short b/c of other games currently needing to be finished.

Heisenberg 11-30-2015 01:15 PM

GH Live makes you earn your keep. That's for sure. You can't just jump right in and do whatever you want. The guitar is different, more difficult than the 5 button crap.

It took me fragmented 3 days to get ESO dl'ed so I only played one or two opening quests. Looks nice to me, I love the lore so I'll probably just breeze through that stuff.

Still playing Fallout 4 tho, that is my baby

I can't even BEGIN to tell you how many books between TES III: Morrowind & TES V: Skyrim, including DLC that I've read in-game. They really do add so much to the lore and mythology, etc. of Tamriel.

Kalyx triaD 12-01-2015 01:32 AM

lol Yeah you can just jump in and do expert songs with the five button crap with Rock Band. Good luck with that. How long it took me to 4* Ride The Lightning, that was just my stupid fingers. Game's easy peasy.

LuigiD 12-01-2015 02:30 AM

Hearthstone is pretty fun.
Really helps the long ass boring work shifts.

road doggy dogg 12-01-2015 08:51 AM

My only gripe with the game was its load time on my iPhone :'( Any time you'd switch out of the app at all it would take forever to get back going again. User error and all that, but yeah

Don't think he was saying that rockband is easy. Just that the new GH controller is tougher, which I can see.

The way Guitar Hero is setup you can't just sit down and master a song unless you've built up in game credits to purchase the song itself. I love Rock Band to death, wish it was on sale over GH, but compared to the 5 button guitar it's a step up in difficulty I craved in this genre. I'm going to get Rock Band somewhere down the line, but switching back and forth between game guitars is going to be weird for sure now

Wait... what? That sounds horrible.

Going to get Rock Band anyway because Drumz, but still, that sounds pretty lame.

The Destroyer 12-02-2015 04:49 PM

Started on Just Cause 3. Wingsuit is nice but I don't think I like it as much as the second game.

Major performance issues too.

Helmsphere 12-02-2015 10:50 PM

Going between MGS5: The Phantom Pain, NCAA Football 14 (Since it was the last one released) and planning on starting the Revelations games in the Resident Evil series soon as well.

I just missed so much the 14 months I was in a Texas State Prison Faculity and not having a console for 9 months following that.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare- It's like Call of Duty, but w/o guns and once you master the timing of your sword attacks it becomes really fun. 24v24 PVP, no mercy. There are FFA and Team Objective modes too.

Guitar Hero Live-Bust this out every once in awhile. Very different from the older versions.

Elder Scrolls Online- I'm going to work through the solo story of it then drop it

Fallout 4- Pretty much did everything I wanted to, going to still play and wait for DLC

#BROKEN Hasney 01-07-2016 09:26 AM

Witcher 3, because apparently the only games I like now are fucking long. Be at this for at least another week and I'm well over 100 hours.

Fignuts 01-07-2016 06:19 PM

Warframe

It's like destiny but free to play, and way more interesting. Third person with a combination of melee and gunplay, with special abilities for each class. Seems like it has everything Destiny has plus more, and I like the more even balance between gunplay and melee. You can do awesome shit like shoot an enemy while wall running and then jump off and finish him with a leaping melee slam. You can even sprint toward enemies while deflecting bullets with your melee weapon like a jedi fucking master.

Crafting system, a player trading market, and a hugely elaborate clan system that involves building a headquarters for your clan.

Add that all weapons armor and mods can be earned in game, and I think I'm gonna be trading in my copy of Destiny. That's not a knock on Destiny, as I think they've made signifigant improvements since it came out, and my problems with the vanills release are virtually all gone, but I only really have time for one grindfest type game, and like I said, Warframe seems like it offers a lot more.

Disturbed316 01-12-2016 10:37 PM

Picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider and Just Cause 3 today, should keep me going for a while.

I found it slightly odd that JC3 was sold out in virtually every place I went to, but apparently there is supply issues at the moment.

Guitar Hero Live

Going to take some time to get used to the new controller, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Honestly, I really like it. Maybe even more than the old controllers. It just feels reaally good moving up and down on the buttons, especially when nailing tricky parts.

The whole GHTV thing is an interesting idea, and a great way to play new content without paying for it, but I still would have preferred an option to buy songs permanantly.

Love the live performance footage they use for the default setlist tho. Hilatious how the fans and your bandmates look at you when you're playing badly. Also, lots of girls with rockin tits in the crowd.

ClockShot 02-14-2016 10:17 AM

Bought and finished Firewatch in a few days. You can download and beat the game in the day.

Beautiful game. But definitely not worth $20. It's sorta got some replayablity, but I'd wait until it goes on a discount before you pick it up.

Got Street Fighter 5 this week. I'll play that until Far Cry: Primal comes out next week.

Just started playing Xenoblade Chronicles X for the WiiU. And I can already tell you that the game world is just plain incredible. Wish other RPGs/open-world games would build worlds like this.

road doggy dogg 02-19-2016 03:07 PM

Still need to buy that... ugh @ my wallet

Sepholio 02-21-2016 02:52 PM

On the plus side, Xenoblade is one of those games you can potentially find yourself immersed in for a long time. I've already clocked like 25 hours and I'm still in the first area lol. Mind you the areas are insanely massive. I'm shocked that the WiiU can even manage to create areas like this with no load times other than the initial one.

Regardless, you'll get your moneys worth out of it.

Is it super good? Was debating getting it, but I'm a bit sick of farcry. Does it feel different enough, or is it farcry 4 with rocks and spears?

drave 02-25-2016 05:48 AM

From the gameplay I have watched, the latter sir.

ClockShot 02-25-2016 07:11 AM

There's a fair amount of copy & paste from the other games. :$

But it's totally different spin on what we're used to. You don't have guns and rocket launchers, and cars at your disposal. No scopes to line up that perfect headshot from afar. No money, no stores.

Sticks and stones and plants is all you got. You're hoofin' it most of the game until you're able to tame the larger beasts to ride on. Although there are fast travel points to cut down on travel time.

I'm having a blast right now. Far Cry 4 was alright but I hated the damn story. I'm sure you'll like this. Worse thing that happens is that you take it back and get your money back.

Heisenberg 02-26-2016 01:44 PM

I've just picked up Deus Ex: H.R. again, as a matter of fact. I'm hoping I'll find some way to defeat the boss I never got past last time.

ClockShot 02-28-2016 07:19 AM

Which boss troubles you, sir?

DAMN iNATOR 02-28-2016 08:22 PM

Not sure. Been literally years since I last played. Looking through the IGN psge though, I think it may have been Namir, the third boss. Also, I should've noted before, I'm restarting from the beginning, not starting at any boss fight.

ClockShot 02-29-2016 06:25 AM

Well for starters, DO NOT get the upgrade chip when all hell breaks loose. Makes the fight much easier.

After that, Typhoon and a high powered gun should bring him down pretty quick.

DAMN iNATOR 02-29-2016 11:09 AM

LOL, cool, thanks for the tip. I just got through scouring YT & IGN, and it was Yelena Fedorova who was giving me fits.

I did notice a couple of nice "alternative strategies" to make all but the last boss a lot more manageable. I guess I'll see how I fare when I get to those points.

ClockShot 02-29-2016 12:55 PM

She's easier. Cloak, grenades, typhoon, and gun. When she runs away, creep around. Look for the ripples in the water when she's cloaked. If you find her first, unload on her.

DAMN iNATOR 02-29-2016 10:42 PM

Well, first I've got quite a bit to get through before I get to her. However, I will take your advice under advisement.

Think its more of a spiritual successor type in the Xenogear series. No direct connection but its not just a spin-off series either.

Then again the whole Xeno series is like that.
